Ferti-Lily - is it really worth the hype?

Just after some opinions form anyone who has used a Ferti-Lily cup (or similar). Is it really as good as I've heard?

If you have used one, how many cycles did you go through before using and how many did it take while using it to get a BFP? Have you even had a BFP?

Do you think it has actually made a difference?

We are on cycle 8 of TTC #1 so willing to try anything at this point!

Hi everyone, I used ferti lily today and I thought it was in properly because it felt comfortable. However, when I got up, I felt a big splash 🤔 I think most of the sperm leaked out. I am guessing this is not how it should be? Do you think there is still some benefit from it though? Today was my last fertile day for this month 😢

once it’s in properly, you shouldn’t feel it’s in there, same as when you have tampons in. It’s normal when you pull it out, it will have sperms in the cup.

Thank you!
I think I’m doing it right…. 🤞

I’m worried I am using it wrong.
how do I know it’s up far enough? Also when I finally get it in what I think is the right place I pull on the cups pulley thing and gently pull it down but not sure this actually pops it back into a cup 🤔
and when I pull it out all the semen (sorry TMI) seems to come out

am I doing it wrong?

thank you x

Got vvfl on 10dpo with clear blue ultra early & first response

Some leakage first, but got it in fairly quick I guess. I think I probably didn't use it quite right, popped it in like a mooncup (folded, I was tired and couldn't remember how to do it properly) and only left it in about 30 mins.
Been TTC for 4 years, have only got positives when using this, so maybe it's the lucky charm!

Just following up from last post, used fertilily again this month, and got a positive!

Congratulations 🎉🎉 that's amazing you were confident it'd work this time round also. How many dpo were you when got BFP?

Also any tips on using the fertilily cup ? Was there much leakage before putting cup inside?

Choc29 · 15/02/2024 21:56

Has anyone struggled to get it out afterwards. I've had a bad experience with a menstrual cup and worried same thing will happen with ferti lily.

LizzeyBenett · 15/02/2024 20:17

Used it for roughly 6 months and didn't find it any use tbh pretty sure the month I conceived I didn't even use it

Please can I ask how deep do you insert the fertilily cup up there? Bought one and can’t wait to try it this around . New to here, I’m turning 38, currently on cycle 4, and trying for our first one

Hi ladies. I feel emotional while reading this post this morning. I got BFP on cycle 4 last Christmas and now my little one is almost 6 months old.( he was born on week 36, didn’t go to nicu, and just managed to do his first roll over this week 🥹)

I think the fertilily cup definitely helped me on TTC, because I didn’t have to raise my leg afterwards, I could just relax, so my body wasn’t intense because I didn’t need to worry about leakage!

I left it in for about 45 mins (I think someone was asking this?) I also used the pre-seed for that cycle as well.

sending all the positive vibes to you all xx

Amyjones86 · 11/02/2024 22:16

I don’t think I ever got it in the right position. I wither found it too tricky or couldn’t be bothered 😅 I left it in for an hour or as close to and got my positive who’s now 4 months old. Congratulations @shadawayo ! Good luck everyone

JS5 · 09/02/2024 22:28

I tried using later today again and managed to get it inside but the cup wasn't naturally sitting straight and the stem wasn't hanging out straight, the cup mouth was tilted slightly backwards towards the bum, and so the stem was more forward towards uterus. I tried correcting position but it kept going back to that so I just trusted the process 🤷‍♀️

I know it says only keep in for an hour max but my stupid brain is telling me to keep it longer to optimise my chance.

Those that got BFP, did you keep it on longer than 1 hour?

Louloubaker · 09/02/2024 12:00

That’s exactly what happened with me it was unfolding back. The first time I got it in ok but the second time I felt like it was in but tilted but I just left it because I thought if it’s up there surly it must be doing some good 🤣.

I think it does take some messing around but looks like it does the trick fingers crossed @JS5

Louloubaker · 09/02/2024 11:57

Oh wow congratulations 🥳💖 @shadawayo

Itsasomething · 09/02/2024 11:05

It worked for me last time I tried it (although ended with early loss) and optimistic it'll work out this time too! -counting down the days til poas!

JS5 · 09/02/2024 10:39

Wow congratulations @shadawayo 🎉🎉

I tried mine this morning (not dtd yet - was dry as a desert👀) and it just wouldn't go in. I tried folding it but it kept slipping out whilst half way in and unfolding back to original umbrella shape. Now I'm getting some strange pain in what feels like urethra

How is everyone managing this ?? 😭

shadawayo · 09/02/2024 07:09

I have just ordered a cheap rip off one. Sorry ladies if I'm asking for TMI 😷

How does it work best, insert it with semen on the cup, or after the semen is already inside of you? I'm doing home insemination (syringe), as too much pressure doing it the usual way.

The stem is slightly bent, at which angle is the cup supposed to go in?

Ta! X

Edited

After it’s inside you!!! Then get it right in place! Xxxx
so straight up I guess - like a tampon!!
i found having a pillow under my back / bum helped the angle!
it’s quite fiddly - try a couple of times before the real thing!! xx
you put it in inside out, then when you’ve gone as far as you can (sometimes I couldn’t tell) you pull the string to make it cup shaped again! Xx

Louloubaker · 08/02/2024 16:21

shadawayo · 08/02/2024 16:02

Hi! I found it very good! It tooo a couple of try’s (and tilting) to get it in the right place! But once it was in, kept it in for the full hour!
that’s ok! I hope that it helps you! Xx
I’ve had a couple of positive tests - but not 1000% sure it’s anything yet xxxx

I've used it twice for DTD.... only during 'high' - I haven't peaked yet! xx

Charl881 · 18/01/2024 19:43

@shadawayo wow this thread is a blast from the past! I think I used it once, on the day of the OPK peak. If you get a peak in the morning I can’t see why it would be an issue to wait until the evening. But ideally get DTD once you get a high as you don’t know when you’ll get a peak. I used to DTD every other day and then on the day of peak, but honestly I don’t think there is a particular science to it. I would use the ferti-Lily as soon as possible so that you’ve had practice with it before your peak, it can be tricky. I would say you know when it’s in because it’s comfy, a bit like you’d know if a tampon wasn’t in properly? Good luck!
