If you have short cycles it is also possible you ovulate at normal times but have luteal phase defect. When we were ttc in early thirties my cycles were around 23 days. I used to ovulate from day 12-14 and literal phase was 9-12 days. As I’ve got older luteal phase has decreased to 7-9 days. It’s worth keeping track of when you ovulate so you can calculate your luteal phase length. Then if you have any problems you will have an idea of the reason.
On the positive side though the month I conceived dS all three of my day 5,7 and 9 post ovulation progesterone tests came back as too low to have ovulated. I obviously had though and because I had done opk I knew that I had tested progesterone 7 days after ovulation but it was low.

@NiceToChat88 😂😂 really tried our best this month but was hard because of the delayed ovulation - so only two times in the fertile period let's hope that's enough ☺️

I get a little bit but not really enough to confirm ovulation xx

@xttcbabyno1x my Flo app looks just like yours, full of the red hearts 🤣🤣 do you get noticeable EWCM? That's something I never have to I need to be strict tracking with ovulation tests!

xttcbabyno1x · 29/07/2022 09:04

@NiceToChat88 we DTD about an hour ago 😅 partners away now for the weekend! i just got my static smiley on the clear blue digi so hoping we've done enough!

@xttcbabyno1x have you been testing since the day your period ended!! Sometimes we can miss a month of ovulation so don't worry. Continue testing and see how you get on ✨ xx

xttcbabyno1x · 28/07/2022 17:27

@NiceToChat88 yeah I did one this afternoon a few times which looks lighter than this morning!!

I know, but I haven't had my peak :( I usually have by now xx

NiceToChat88 · 28/07/2022 17:26

@xttcbabyno1x have you done another ovulation test since this morning? If you're on a short cycle this month it's likely you've already ovulated! X

xttcbabyno1x · 28/07/2022 17:22

@NiceToChat88 it keeps changing its mind and going up and down x usually 22-28 days so not sure what's going on this cycle :( xx

NiceToChat88 · 28/07/2022 10:47

@xttcbabyno1x woohoo! Keep testing and let us know how you get on. I find with those ones because they're quite cheap I usually do 2 per day, morning then later in the day!

@WolfMother326 how long are your cycles normally? X

WolfMother326 · 28/07/2022 10:02

Yes. I ovulate day 7 or 8. Got pregnant after DTD on day 7 only the cycle we conceived 🤯

xttcbabyno1x · 28/07/2022 09:31

Hey lovely @NiceToChat88 I got some easy at home ones and this is today :) think it's coming now x

@xttcbabyno1x hey! How are you getting on, did you get a peak? I don't know how much I like the clear blue OPK they can be quite all over the place, definitely prefer the easy@home ones. Although it can be tricky to see when LH starting to rise to I dtd the lead up to the peak just to be safe.

xttcbabyno1x · 26/07/2022 09:58

Bought a clear blue digital OPK yesterday which shows a flashing smiley now so I have no idea what's going on with my body, cycle day 16 :(

@NiceToChat88 it's crazy how quick it can switch up, right? i heard good things about easy@home - I've used one step this month and I must say I'm not a fan - whether it's because I haven't seen a peak I don't know, but It's driving me mad!

This is the first month of properly TTC - we've not used a condom for around 2 months prior x

I haven't used anything else yet, my boyfriend is adamant he just wants to chill with it which makes sense but I just obsess! X

I started testing on CD9 last month and got one day of negative then CD10 was a static smiley. I think I’m going to ditch the clear blue ones and do the Easy@Home strips instead as you can continue to test after your positive to be sure - I dread to think how much money I’ve spent on all these things 😂

how long have you been ttc if you don’t mind me asking? Have you been trying anything else? I’m looking into using preseed next month but not sure if that’s just something else to obsess over…

I have been taking new supplements this month to try and increase my cycle length but the GP told me it shouldn’t matter too much as long as the Luteal Phase is longer than 10 days, which mine seems to be! It’s all very confusing. I keep clinging onto the fact there’s only around 20% chance of conception each month xx

xttcbabyno1x · 25/07/2022 07:22

@NiceToChat88 hello! Aw thank you so much, it's so confusing isn't it :(

I don't have 22/23 day cycles often but they do happen every couple of months! I didn't start testing until 4 days after my period so I think I missed it, we actually DTD around that time anyway, but usually I would've had a peak by now so this is all I can think!! I'm not sure how accurate cervical position is but I would've thought it would be open right now if I was due to ovulate, it's tightly closed!! Xx

@xttcbabyno1x hey OP

sorry to butt in but saw this thread and thought I’d join if that’s ok? I think the exact same thing happened to me this month! My cycles are usually 24/25 days so quite short. I’m month two of tracking ovulation (but month 8 of ttc).

this month I started tested straight after my period ended and got a static smiley on the clear blue ovulation tests! (CD6)! I continued to test and it went back negative and then I got another static smiley on CD11. Not sure what happened, I think I’m going to start temping next cycle if I don’t get my positive this month. Clear blue recommend not continuing to test once you get your static smiley so not sure if I ovulated early and then confused the test reader by continuing to test!

ive never had very noticeable EWM around ovulation so I can’t go by that but next step is temping I reckon. Sorry again for butting in just wanted to let you know you’re not alone! X
