Fairy that is evil of your body to send such mixed messages ggrrrr... could tingly boobs be a sign ov about to happen ? or maybe I'm just clutching at straws on your behalf !
scully sorry she got you
Pistachio fantastic news ! Any top tips for us ? did you do anything differently this cycle and what were symptoms ? Share the details so that we can add them to the archives for future reference ! Did you think you hadn't ov'd if you were doing opks last week ?
hatty I have similar cycle lengths to you (also inconsistent) and will be doing first opk on CD13 this month too so try to hold off ! and I agree that you may well ov after Cd16 so you'll hopefully not have to bd on your mum's sofa !
GG why are men so rubbish at talking ?! My dp is the same, we never have "serious" conversations, he runs a mile ! I can't imagine him being too keen on having his swimmers tested as men seem to equate strong swimmers with being more manly somehow... I think we have to conclude that men are weird but unfortunately we can't do this without them !

twinklingfairy · 28/01/2008 11:25

Yeah! Congrats pistachio

FurtivelyPosting · 28/01/2008 10:50

Congratulations, Pistcachio! What lovely, lovely news to start the week with! I'm so pleased for you.

GG - I'm really sorry to hear that things are still difficult. I think that I woud have the exact same worries and concerns if I were in your position. My DH is a 'backs into his cave' kind of man whenever something important crops up and discussions are needed. I generally have to perservere and wear him down. It's that or very calmly and matter of factly issung him with an ultimatum - that we talk it through like adults or I'm going to assume something very serious is wrong and I want to know what. This usually prompts him to start talking. I'm not advising that you do this because it is a really stressful way to go about doing things; it's just what I end up resorting to. I really hope that your DH sees sense very soon and starts talking or gets himself down to the clinic (he should realise that the sooner he does either of these things, the better). Don't forget that you can always come here to vent and get things off your chest.

GryffinGirl · 28/01/2008 10:31

hello everyone and thanks for the lovely words. DH and I are talking but he absolutely refuses to discuss the "going to the clinic" matter any further. I know what you are saying about him putting it off because he doesn't want to go to a grotty old hospital and w*nk into a test tube (sorry, I am crude because I am angry) and/or find out there might be an issue, but I am pretty sure it is work related.

He is really career focused (and I am usually so proud of him ) but the down side is that I can see that everything excpet his career is coming second best. He When backed into a corner (and we have been over and over it ), he simply refuses to discuss it any further.

furtively - you are sooo right when you say work is always busy. Who would admit to having a quiet and easy job?! . I have a high pressure job too with sometimes highly unreasonable hours, but I would find a way. He is putting job first and this worries me, because after a year of trying, he should be putting me/us/family first for once. He is busy - he worked all day yesterday and has been coming in at 11pm/midnight all week, but I would still make time. I think what owrries me most is that if there is a problem, I will not have the support and commitment I need and his work will get in the way. I think he has also changed his mind about a promise he made me three years ago - that we would move back to my home country when we had a family. Lately he goes very quiet on it. . I can see trouble ahead......

hattyyellow · 28/01/2008 09:49

Pistachio and Missus congratulations!! What lovely news to start the week with

DG did everything go okay with the internal scan, not read all the posts but presuming you and tinydigibean are okay?

GG at your DH, have a feeling mine would be acting similar in that situation...really hope he will go soon..

Abbey so sorry to hear about possible problems with your DD...hope both your consultant appts are okay and to see you back here soon..

Shreks will miss you

Jolly and Mibbes lol at your trying to beep quietly! Jolly would love to see you get a BFP this month pre the scan..everything crossed for you..

Waving to anyone I've missed...

Have a question..day 10 for me today - going by the Clearblue ovulation sticks info it says to start testing in correlation with your shortest cycle..recent cycles have been 31, 28, 30, 30 , 35.

So to go by the 28 day cycle I'd start on day 13...but am itching to start earlier..please stop me wasting money and starting today! It's very unlikely my cycles are suddenly going to get shorter than 28 days isn't it!?

And if I start testing on day 13 does that mean that technically I could get a smiley straight away? And how long after the smiley face do I have to grab DH?

We are away from day 12 to 16 at my mums which is disastrous...the girls are in her spare room and we are sleeping in the sitting room! Not quite sure how we're going to get a moment of privacy! I imagine with my longer cycles that I could be ovulating later though?

Any advice gratefully recieved...

07mumstheword · 28/01/2008 09:34

Just re-read your post, how did you manage to keep your Saturday BFP quiet? I'm really pleased for you.

07mumstheword · 28/01/2008 09:32

Congratulations Pistachio

sorry to hear that, scully - as you say, at least you can see now that your cycles are settling down and next month will be better for you.

pistachio! you can't leave us hanging like that! c'mon - spill the beans!!

07mumstheword · 28/01/2008 09:04

Pistachio The suspense is killing me!!!

07mumstheword · 28/01/2008 09:00

Pistachio WELL???? ARE YOU???? Tell ME!!!!!!

07mumstheword · 28/01/2008 08:59

TF lol at your pleasure and outsome analysis - so true!

Sorry TEW got you scully JB Sorry but I did at your dropping the thermometer whilst trying to be discreit (sp?) itsn't that ever typical

Mibbes Its just so difficult to respond when you are put on the spot like that, well done you for changing the subject.

GG How are you feeling today? Are you still at boiling point?

Hi FP Bucky Coolkat & everyone else.

I'm CD15 and decided this morning this is just the worst bit now because I hate waiting! At least at the beginning of a cycle you have blood to keep you busy then the BD'ing can commence and OV tests etc etc then you have 2 wks (or so) of nothing! I do hope it's a positive at the end of it all this time but I just have a feeling it hasn't happened again. (I'm only 5 dpo so I am being pesimistic (sp?) or is that a realist? )

scully · 28/01/2008 06:39

Well af arrived this morning, bugger Disappointed but only 1st mth of proper trying again after Aug m/c. At least my last 2 cycles now have been back to normal.....
So roll on the 10th Feb when the action begins again Going to have to try to find the time and energy to bd more than twice at the right time, this month
GG, hope you and dh sort things out and he has his tests done sooner rather than later, must be frustrating for you though.

twinklingfairy · 27/01/2008 22:40

I have been having tingly boobs for a wee while now, since AF. Tonight my right leaked What is that about?
I am only on CD10 and really don't think I have even ov'd yet.
I did do a test but so many have had a BFP after an AF visit. Ok theirs' were really light and turned out to be implantation. Mine was clearly TEW and heavy(ish), to boot. But, why the tingly boobs, and the leaking??
Obv it was BFN

Just recovering from a urine infection, reckon that must be what it is. Not fair for my body to send confusing things like that though

Hope you did the deed in time JB what a long wait, but better late than not this month. DG was a late ov'ing too, weren't you?

GG an argument with DH and a silly comment from a friend. >
Methinks it might be avoidance, for your DH too. They are willing to do the dancing but not so much with the testing. You can understand why, but tough poo, get on with it. We have to go through far worse than being told to pleasure ourselves and produce the outcome
Small ask really. But then I am like a dog with a bone in these situations, Poor DH would not be allowed to say no! I would be frog marching him down there, giving him a helping hand.
Haha, ok time for me to stop talking, someone needs to say, 'yes dear'

Actually, have read your post over and I really don't think my way would help you guys at all.

JollyBear · 27/01/2008 21:15

Thanks mibbes! It wasn't v quiet temping really as I dropped it and couldn't find the button. No one commented on the odd beeping though thank goodness!!

Hope this cycle is lucky for you HCB

mibbes · 27/01/2008 21:11

HCB JollyBear oohh good news that FF has confirmed ov ! I have everything crossed for you - I really hope this long cycle proves to be worth the wait and you get your BFP . I take it you managed to take temp quietly !

JollyBear · 27/01/2008 21:10

Cross-posted with mibbes

You'd have certainly have shocked a few elderly aunts with that little speech

JollyBear · 27/01/2008 21:05

Hello all,

Sorry to hear you are leaving us SM I hope you have a good break and come back soon - we'll miss you.

Abby We'll miss you too. It is understandable that you feel that you have enough on your plate at the moment. Hope everything is OK with you and your daughter. >

Congrats MissusH that is wonderful news Glad you can join DG!

GG Like Bucky says perhaps your DH is reluctant because he doesn't want to face what will be an understandably uncomfortable situation. Men seem to hate anything medical. Can he not be convinced that it is better to get it over and done with?

FF decided I ov on Thursday, CD42 - better late than never. We can't ttc after this cycle because of my impending scan but - it would be great to have to cancel it because I got a BFP

Hello to everyone else!

mibbes · 27/01/2008 20:48

Bucky so... were the detox feet thingies all black from the gin ? any sign of the egg ?
MTW hope the swimmers have done their job now that you've covered all bases
FP pink CM could well be imp bleed... I hope so !
Shreksmissus posted for you in waiting room - sorry to see you go.
Oh GG it is so difficult when people say things like that - esp as you have been trying for a long while. And how frustrating about DH being difficult maybe when he has calmed down post-argument he'll go sooner rather than later. Like Bucky says try again at an oportune moment...
Not much to report here, TEW has left the building and I manged to muffle beeps of thermometer while away for the weekend . My cousin asked me when I'd be having kids in front of everyone at a family gathering ! I just tried to brush it off with a flippant "I'm not interested in all that yet..." and quickly skipped to a new conversation Nightmare. As if I was going to announce "well actually we've binned the condoms as clock has started ticking loudly and am currently obsessing about CM and temps in order to time our bunny-action - what this space !"

coolkat · 27/01/2008 20:19

Hi ladies

Congrats on BFP MissusH. Sorry to see you go SM

Bucky - LOL at you and your feet pads, I have been tempted to try them but never got round to it.

Well nearly on 2WW so will catch up properly soon. X X

Bucky2008 · 27/01/2008 18:16

AAARrrghh...I have a new laptop and it is bleedin Windows Vista . I have typed this twice so far and managed to make it dissapear somehow...Come back XP all is forgiven!!!

Once more for the record GG All I have to say on the matter is 'MEN!!!!!'. They just don't get it do they? It's all right for them with their 'ooh I'm seventy seven and am still churning out the babies'. What about us and the eggs that we have lugged round since BIRTH?!!!! Getting older by the bleedin second???? . Just MAKE him go this month. Wait a few days or a week so that the subject can go off the boil and catch him when he least expects it...like when he wants to go out drinking with his mates instead of going to Sainsburys on his turn-type of situation. Aaargh. You know your DP but maybe there is a bit of 'putting off' going on too? I mean I would imagine its not going to be a nice situation, so any other option would perhaps be preferable? Afterall, he could have swimmer issues and whilst we would want to know and do something about it, in my experience men are not like that. They get all 'ostrich' about things. anyway. I'll email you this week.

My didn't turn up for me today so no egg here yet, maybe tomorrow?

FurtivelyPosting · 27/01/2008 15:53

Hi all.

Shreksmissus - I am so, so sorry to hear your news. Whilst I totally understand how you feel, I am also sad to see you depart. I hope you feel up to joining us again sometime in the near future.

GG - I would feel exactly the same as you and I would be absolutely furious to boot. Thinking about it, work is usually always very busy to some extent - I don't know anyone who has a nice quiet job with not much going on! So it would seem sensible to make the time to go sooner rather than later or the appointment could end up being postponed all the time because work is 'busy'.

Thanks for the babydust, MissusH. I think I might have to pass mine on to a better home - I've had some bloodied CM today, cramps on and off and I've started craving chocolate. I think that these are all signs that AF is approaching. I'll keep my fingers crossed for now of course but I'm not getting my hopes up.

MissusH · 27/01/2008 15:42

Hi all - thanks for the congrats (tried to visit yesterday, but couldn't log in, grr)

It still hasn't sunk in yet

I found some babydust on the bottom of my shoes - would be mean not to share...

07mumstheword · 27/01/2008 14:36

Pistachio & FP Sounds very interesting I'm sorry but I have no words of wisdom about what it could all mean but not long until "things" can be confirmed so hang on in there.

Shrek So so sorry I do hope things work out for you very soon and we are always here for you if you want to pop in for a chat.

GG I agree with you, you make time for things so important such as this. I really don't know what else to say but if your DH has promised to go in the next month (forget the or so) then you must make him stick to that as a compromise...I mean you don't want him to wait 3 months. I hope he goes soon.
