Morning all! Sorry to hear BFNs...

MOB felt quite tearful at your husband watching that advert, really hope it happens for you soon...

love the sixth form analogy..can I join too on cycle err 6? Can we all spend our free periods drinking coffee, flicking our hair furiously and smoking at the local cafe like my sixth form did?

Had a quick chat with doctor yesterday, tiny village practice with loads of appointments -it's one great reason for having left London and moved to the sticks!

He said they can do an initial examination in the practice before I get to a year of trying, where they feel your ovaries and uterus to see if they feel inflamed/enlarged/cystic..

he offered to do it then and there as I was last patient of the day but it sounded so painful I chickened out and said I would book in next week..anyone know anything about this? He said it's an internal examination but ow, ow, ow how on earth do they feel your ovaries without splitting you in half?? My biology might be sorely lacking here!

JollyBear · 20/02/2008 09:58

Hello all!

MTW Great to hear from you! Glad all is well with you.

bucky It must be really hard having been here for a while, I've only been here four months (lurking for 5 and lots of new people have come and gone in that time. I hope that you don't disappear because you are a great person to have around

madoldbird · 20/02/2008 09:05

Good to hear you are well MTW. No, it wasn't rude - i AM old and decrepid (sp??) or, at least, i feel it at times!!!

07mumstheword · 20/02/2008 08:59

MOB How could I have missed you I know the advert you mean, it tugs on your heart strings doesn't it. It's a good idea to go to doctors after this cycle if nothing happens as you definately should get some help at your age that sounded rude but you know what I mean

GG Sorry I forgot you too, hope all is going well in the GG household.

07mumstheword · 20/02/2008 08:52

Hello Bucky EI Scully Coolkat Mibbes Scary Jollybear Twinkling anyone I may have missed and all the newbies on here.

Just popping in to say hi cos I miss you lot.

Bucky I feel for you. I keep looking at this and the waiting room thread and it's amazing how many oldies have gone and newbies are arriving. I do hope you get your BFP soon. Hopefully the tests will help. I'm glad Finn dog is better.

I'm ok apart from extreme tiredness I don't really have any symptoms which goes to show symptom spotting can be difficult to predict a BFP

Good luck to ALL of you for a BFP this cycle.

madoldbird · 20/02/2008 08:51

Morning all!

What a lot to catch up on! Haven't had a chance to MN over past few days, have had a couple of "family" days over the past couple of days, as it's half term. DH back to work today, i have the rest of the week off.

Was hoping for some nice BFP's in my absence! What a shame - we are due a few on this thread i feel.

GG good to see you - hope the docs appt etc goes well. DH's results must be back soon?? If i remember right, i think you said 2 - 3 wks, but can't remember how long ago that was? Can't see why it takes so long, but i suppose if there are 100's of millions of little swimmers in there, must take a while to count! If i was doing it, no doubt i'd get almost to the end and get distracted and have to start counting all over again!!

EI am very excited at possibily featuring in one of your dreams!!! Do let me know if you have another. I'll do my best to keep your percentage up

Bucky please keep on lurking and posting!! Feel like i have been here forever too. We need to stay here - we are the senior ones - like the sixth formers who keep the others in line. If that's anything like my old school it means we are now allowed to use the front door of the school and can wear an open necked shirt instead of a tie (not sure if it will help tcc...)

mibbes sorry to hear you sounding down - sounds like a positive move to see the gp about the spotting. Hopefully he/she can provide some answers or reassure that it's nothing to worry about.

Sorry to hear about the BFN's coolkat, tapster and anyone else i have missed. Sorry also to scary and TF (and likewise, anyone else) on the miserable old cow turning up.

lou fingers crossed for your lucky month!!

FP i too have been calculating the likelihood of getting out of "doing" christmas!! I hope that surely, whether i am heavily pregnant, or just given birth, i should be allowed a year off. (Hopefully i am one or the other by the end of the year ) Oh, and your symptoms are definitely sounding promising!!

shakeysgirl how lovely to get an eternity ring!!

Good morning to everyone else - scully hattyyellow JB picknmix MTW (how are you?) DG (if you are still lurking here!!) and all newbies.

Not a lot to report here. Bit of a strange cycle - only had one day of on OPK - normally have at least 48 hrs if not 60hrs. However, am hoping that that may be a good thing, as i think that is more like what is supposed to happen.(?) was on friday, and managed to BD on that day, however my cervix still appeared to be open on Sundday and Monday, so managed another on Monday to make sure DH reliably informed me last night that it is now shut So not sure at all when i may have oved. No symptoms to report at all. Don't have the sore, enlarged (.)(.) that i normally have post ov, so am a little concerned about that. (i.e. maybe i didn't actually ov) Still am now in the boring bit, and wish i could just magic the next 2 weeks away. DH & i have decided that we are going to give it another cycle after this (which will be 8) and then see the doc, as due to my age (37) we should be able to get the ball rolling with tests without waiting a year.

I caught DH looking rather sad watching an ad on tv last night. i think it is for SMA?? There is a dad and a little baby, and i think he is saying thank you to his DW for making him so happy. There is then a shot of his big shoes with a pair of baby shoes next to them. Has anyone seen the one i mean? DH looked so sad for a bit - i could see what was going through his mind. i would so love to make him a dad. He is a wonderful step-dad, but i desparately wish he could experience fatherhood right from the very beginning.

Sorry, i am rambling about me, me, me, and it's turned into another of my mammoth posts! Hope everyone has a good day. I am off later with DC's to meet up with friends for lunch, then off to see the film "water horse" I could get used to not working!!

ShakeysGirl · 20/02/2008 01:42

Ebays not great for me as i don't use paypal. I think we are going to try and keep things really lighthearted and not put any performance pressure on dp, if it happens it'll be wonderful but if not then i am already blessed with 2 beautiful healthy children. I find myself imagining symptoms sometimes so am going to try and close everything out until my next af is due iyswim otherwise i will drive myself crazy. I'm sure i made my boobs sore just with the power of thought last month lol xx

EiWishFor3MoreWishes · 20/02/2008 00:38

ah shakey thats lovely i have been hinting at my DH to get me a nice eternity ring as its our sort-of anniversary in a few weeks... you should have a little look on ebay as you can get OPKs for a few pounds for loads i am going to buy some this cycle to either tempt fate into wasting them with a BFP or to prepare myself to start OPKing next cycle
xx ei xx

ShakeysGirl · 19/02/2008 23:36

And madoldbird, its good to know i'm not alone
And... I'm now the proud owner of a beautiful eternity ring! Am so happy, everythings going right for us atm am hoping ttc follows suit x

ShakeysGirl · 19/02/2008 23:33

Hello all. Af has gone away now so we'll see what happens this month, not sure when i Ovulate and the stick things are too expensive so we are just taking our chances (we have sex everyday usually so chances are it'll be at the right time) we only use the syringe during the middle of my cycle tho as we don't want things to feel to regulated and pressured. I have irregular cycles to anything from 30 - 38 days which doesn't help but fingers crossed! Good luck to everyone xx

FurtivelyPosting · 19/02/2008 22:39

That's really kind of yuo, Ei .

I'm absolutely knackered now, so I'm off to bed. See you tomorrow!

EiWishFor3MoreWishes · 19/02/2008 22:07

oh i will be keeping my fingers crossed for you FP all sounds rather promising though
xx ei xx

FurtivelyPosting · 19/02/2008 21:59

I'm only 7DPO Ei - it's such a blinkin' drag too. It feels like forever since I ovulated. I'm thinking of testing on Sunday, when I'll be 12DPO (my LP length is usually around 13 days) although I have got some ebay HPTs sitting in the bathroom cabinet and it's getting increasingly hard to ignore them!

I've got to try and be sensible and not get my hopes up. To be honest, I think I'e got my hopes up already but I'm trying to prepare myself for the outcome I don't want, as maybe I'll be less crushed (I doubt it, somehow)!

EiWishFor3MoreWishes · 19/02/2008 21:52

the stretching could be ligaments FP when are you due to test?? also i had backache throughout my preg with DD and it felt like a dull ache for most of the time sounds like you might be due a bit of good news how many DPO are you?? keep us posted
xx ei xx

FurtivelyPosting · 19/02/2008 21:43

Hey there everyone - how are you all doing?

I'm afraid that I'm going to have to drive you all crazy with a silly question - please be as honest as you like! Basically, for the past three evenings (tonight included), I've been really tired - more so than usual. I also get backache in the evening and this strange cramping ache - it's not like a menstrual cramp at all. The only way I can think of to describe it is that it's as if I have got a big rubber band in my lower abdomen and it is being pulled tight. So it aches but not in a proper cramp way. I've never had this before - is it likely to be early AF? Or an AF sign that's new to me? Have any of you felt this kind of ache? Sorry to go on - I just don't want to start thinking that it's another 'symptom' () when it's just an AF indicator.

EiWishFor3MoreWishes · 19/02/2008 21:34

evening all hope everyone is ok
bucky nice to see you
coolkat i sometimes wonder if my sicky kind of feeling is in my head...it is usually but if you dont usually feel rough then chances are that you have got a quite good (BFP-related) reason fingers crossed
hope everyone is ok
xx ei xx

Bucky2008 · 19/02/2008 20:43

Hey Coolcat I'm absolutely fine, thanks for thinking of me. Just not alot happening and I don't really recognise many names on the thread these days! Great to 'see' lots of new people joining and of course a big welcome and good luck to them, but it does serve to remind just how long I have been on this thread now! .

To Jollybear and everyone who asked after him, Finn Dog says 'woof' translated as 'I am fine now thanks, all better. The best I have ever been in fact, so much so I am now a pain in the ass to my mummy'. .

I haven't really read through, the thread moves super fast at the moment. Hope you are all keeping well and that we get a BFP soon. I am lurking around.....

coolkat · 19/02/2008 20:04

Just read my post!! Bran = brain and refer = prefer. Going Bed!

coolkat · 19/02/2008 16:42

Hi Ladies,

Still no news here. Felt a little sick but do I or is it my bran IYSWIM!

My opinion is that there may be times that we would all 'refer to have a baby' but in my opinion I would happy just to be pregnant let alone be worrying when it is due!! Sorry to have offended anyone.

Just doing tea but a little worried about Bucky she not been here for a while - Are you there Bucky is everything ok?

Hugs to you all, Tapster, sounds good, sometimes hormone level not high enough to be detected early on.

I full of cold had a really busy day at work and I am shattered

EiWishFor3MoreWishes · 19/02/2008 13:49

well it certainly sounds positive to me so i hope you get a BFP soon to go with your symptoms
xx ei xx

Tapster · 19/02/2008 12:19

Had two BFNs so far tested again this am. AF due this week Wed/Thurs/Friday I'm a bit hazy as its my first month of ttcing after DD and to be honest I'm not sure how long my cycles are. They were 28 days before DD but I think they may have got longer but I know I ovulated early about day 11 so who knows.

I have all the symptoms of morning sickness and its getting worse each day. With DD it hit me in week 3, I knew I was pregnant before I tested but so far only BFNs.

EiWishFor3MoreWishes · 19/02/2008 12:12

when is AF due tapster?? have you tested yet?? (apologies if you have already said this but my brain is buggered today with having little sleep last night)
xx ei xx

Tapster · 19/02/2008 12:09

I think there are lots of positives to being a Xmas baby I have one niece and one nephew both with the 23rd December birthdays and it feels like the start of Xmas. My problem would be the due date would be the end of December and as I'm likely to have another C-section I really don't want to be in hospital/in bed over Christmas for my DD's sake more than anybody else. If you've been ttcing for a while go for it.

Quick question I know when we last BD, 16 days ago and I think I ovulated day 11 (early for me). Last time I tested positive for First Response 4 days before AF, maybe I was lucky.

Nearly threw up at the baby gym with DD, eaten some biscuits and feel much better. Got AF type pains now though...

beaniesteve · 19/02/2008 12:02

thank you

am so hoping I get pregnant!
