Hi all,

There doesn't seem to be a thread for TTC whilst breastfeeding, so I thought that I'd start one. All welcome to jump aboard if that's your journey too, or offer tips and insights if you've managed to conceive whilst feeding a young one.

@Golaz 15dpo? Is that a typo for CD15? It must be very confusing not being sure what's going on. Hopefully you're right and you'll ovulate after Sunday 🤞
I'm CD10. I usually ovulate CD14 to CD19 so a while to go yet. No need to wear ourselves out too soon 🤣

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 hoping your period doesn't show! Surely you can't get a line if you're not pregnant...? If clear blue tests were actually dodgy surely they'd have pulled them from sale by now.
Teething is improving thanks! There's one molar poking out so hopefully that's it for now and we'll get a rest. We're busy trying to get ready for Christmas this week, almost finished thinking of what to get/make for people thankfully. I love Christmas, but only AFTER all the shopping is done!

Golaz · 01/12/2022 21:15

hi @Orangio im ok thanks ☺️. Currently back to feeling frustrated that my OPK readings make no sense and I have no idea if / when I might be ovulating 🙈. Currently 15dpo. Best case scenario I haven’t O’d yet and I don’t until at least Sunday, when my partner returns (he’s currently away, so sods law I will peak when he’s gone). How are you? What CD are you on?

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 omg that looks like a line! 🫣🤞🏻 Did you test again yet?

@Billyv so sorry for your loss. No matter how early, it can still be so heartbreaking 💔. Hope you are doing ok, and recovering well.

@Mugascauld good luck for this 2ww!

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 01/12/2022 09:11

@Orangio period will most likely arrive today.... think those tests are meant to be notorious. Like you I'm not a big tester so not familiar with a lot of these. How're you? Teething any better?

Orangio · 30/11/2022 23:10

Oooh well that does look hopeful @A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 ! When can you get your hands on another test?!

@Billyv it must be such a strange time. Think you're really sensible to hold off for a couple of months and reset a bit. It'll be so much easier if you've managed to wean DS first too. I love BF, but then I think about trying to BF whilst puking my guts up with morning sickness and immediately start thinking about how to wean him pronto!

@TulipVictory sorry I can't really help more than the others. If I was you I'd get a good test and use fmu tomorrow or the day after, to hopefully get a clearer result.

TulipVictory · 30/11/2022 21:21

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 I'm pretty sure I ovulated on CD 17, I wiped pink all day on CD27 & 28 but then it stopped. Currently CD32 but this reminds me of last month.

I got the test from Wilkinsons

@Billyv the photo was taken about 5 minutes after I took it. I see what you mean about the extra line, I feel like it was a bit smeary looking.

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 30/11/2022 20:14

@Billyv I'm so glad you're doing okay and keeping busy with your son. Horrible experience. I'm not sure what the bleeding means sorry but hopefully it is just the last of the hcg leaving your system. Be nice to get back to normal, even if you hold off trying for a month or two. You obviously fall pregnant really easily also with first time for son and for this one, so 🤞 it won't be too long for you guys.

Thank you, I'd normally use frer but happened to have this in my case - I'm staying with family. Might as well have not taken one as it's given zero clarity 😅

Billyv · 30/11/2022 19:36

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 oh I had one that looked like that when I was testing during my recent ... erm unfortunate episode. With all the dye collected at the bottom like that. Have you got a different brand?

@TulipVictory it almost looks like there are 3 lines on that. How long was the photo taken after the test was done? Is this an Asda/Morrisons test?

I'm doing ok, thanks everyone for asking. Can't believe it's already a week ago today I was in hospital waiting for an operation. Was a little sad and shell shocked over the weekend, but being able to move about normally has helped and DS and I are keeping busy going to the park and playgroups. I've started bleeding again like a period, not sure what that means as this is my 3rd bleed in 6wks. I'm thinking probably the last of the HCG leaving my system. I'm wondering if I'm CD1... Although we probably won't be TTC for a couple of months now at least, or probably a bit longer until I'm happy to wean DS.

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 30/11/2022 18:55

@TulipVictory do you know how many dpo you are? I'm not familiar with those tests but it could be that with what happened last month you ovulated later?

I'm 8-9 dpo I'm estimating, and due either today or tomorrow. I took a test and got this - know these tests are meant to be awful however 🤷‍♀️ so it could just be an evap and it's so faint anyway. So not sure what to make of this

I had a chemical last month. On the day AF was due I had a very faint line on a pregnancy test. However, three days later AF came full force. I was gutted I tested and said I would only do it again if I was late. My cycles are never later than 28 days so this cycle I am currently day 32, I've tested this afternoon and this is the test? I feel like this is way too faint for being late? Do you think it will be another chemical? Thanks for looking 😊

@Orangio and @Mugascauld gosh lots of teething! Hope your little ones are through it soon.

@Orangio I think it's coming today or tomorrow, feel a bit bloated and achy. Will be happy to have a slightly longer luteal phase though, especially with all of the suckling he's done this month! When my period first came, I reckon my luteal phase was about 3 days 🤣

Mugascauld · 30/11/2022 09:28

Hey @orangio all good here! Think today is O day so I’m almost back in the TWW 🙃 trying to be chill about it this time. Been so busy in work and home so haven’t been keeping up on the thread but I hope you’re feeling better @Billyv!
My little fella has been going through something too, not sure if it’s teething cause I can’t get a glimpse into his mouth but he’s also been chomping down on my legs recently so it probably is 😂

Orangio · 30/11/2022 09:14

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 how's it going? Any sign of AF?

@Mc3209 and @Billyv hope you're both okay?

@Golaz @Mugascauld how are things? Sorry if I've forgotten anyone who's been on the thread recently... I'm blaming teething and DS trying to sooth his chompers on my shoulder blade as I write.

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 28/11/2022 18:58

@Orangio I hope so, right now it's just a slog ! I quite like renovating but never seen something so filthy and broken before.

Feels like a never ending cycle of teething or illness sometimes. Hope he's over it soon!

I'm due on my period in a couple days I think. Which will mean roughly a 9 day luteal phase (going by cm, getting zero sleep for temping, and also been ill so wouldn't work)

How's everyone else getting along?

Orangio · 27/11/2022 09:13

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 ooh that's exciting (if stressful and a bit gross)! It'll feel so much more like 'yours' though once you've finished and put your stamp on it. Working for something always makes it more worthwhile I reckon.
We are fine... CD6 here. Very dull! DS is teething again so that's fun! Hopefully that will be over before fertile week 😂

@Bby2 you'll get a much better response if you post your own thread 😊

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 27/11/2022 07:33

@Orangio I'm okay thanks, we moved house and the one we bought was left in an absolutely awful unlivable state, so been busy putting our stuff in storage and trying to rip out revolting old carpets etc 🤢 How are you?

@Bby2 I don't want to get your hopes up but that's exactly how my 8dpo test looked for my son

Bby2 · 27/11/2022 07:11

Hello lovelies! Looking for some help! Took a frer last night and a faint line appeared straight about 8dpo. Took another one first thing this morning 9dpo and the same thing happened. Do you think this could be an indent? Driving myself mad staring at it!

Orangio · 26/11/2022 21:57

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 yep, very happy with that! How are you doing yourself?

@Billyv that's totally understandable, and probably very sensible. It's okay to mourn the loss of your little one, even though s/he was very little indeed. I don't think the length of time they were with us for means much when it comes to grief. I think it's natural to wonder what they would have been like.
I agree about the morning sickness too - I remember how much sicker I felt whenever I was tired, and then think about BF through the night and shudder...

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 26/11/2022 21:10

@Orangio scrap that sorry, I just saw you have a 14 day luteal phase, that's brilliant!!

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 26/11/2022 21:08

@Orangio sorry just reading back over the thread to catch up, any news??

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 26/11/2022 13:01

@Billyv of course you're going to feel sad, it's a horrible thing to go through. I'm so sorry for you. Take care of yourself.

@TulipVictory sorry about yours too, it's not nice to get a positive test, and have it not work out.

@Mc3209 congratulations! How are you doing?

Billyv · 26/11/2022 08:07

Yeah, I'm ok. I am feeling more sad about the whole thing now - not just the pregnancy, I didn't have much time to get attached, although that is contributing a little to the feeling of sadness - but the whole week was a mildly traumatic experience, the trip to a&e and my DS having cpox and barely sleeping, but especially the scan and then waiting by myself for 10hrs to go in for the op. Knowing DP was at home worrying.

I was feeding DS yesterday and he was gently touching my eyebrow, and I thought this other child might have done the same. If they'd been a real child.

I think we're going to put TTC on pause for 6m. I'd like to feed DS until he's 2ish at least, and although we'll never know what caused the ectopic, I'd like to up my chances of having a viable pregnancy next time by not bf and being fitter in general. Also, DS has been going through a particularly bad sleep phase and I'd like to get him sleeping more independently. When I had the BFP I was thinking, oh god it's going to be rough having morning sickness and a boy who doesn't sleep well.

Orangio · 25/11/2022 22:24

Sounds like it's all going pretty well then (considering) 😊 Glad you got some decent sleep!
Do you have to wait at all before TTC? Or maybe you don't feel ready anyway (sorry if that's an insensitive question - just tell me to wind my neck in if so).

Billyv · 25/11/2022 10:27

Hello. Yes ok thanks @Orangio processing the odd experience I guess, but generally alright. Not too much pain, surprisingly little I'd say 🙂it's odd not being able to pick up DS and I'm feeling a bit squeamish about having a shower later and changing the dressings. Can breastfeed ok with a pillow on my lap to support DS so that's nice. Also, he slept through!!! Which is basically a miracle as he's been awful all week with the chicken pox, I'd only had about 2hrs sleep on Tuesday night before the scan and about 3 the night I had surgery so definitely needed a proper night's sleep.

how are you @Mc3209 ?

Orangio · 25/11/2022 07:25

I agree Golaz, definitely need some BFP vibes on here!
How you doing this morning @Billyv ?

TulipVictory · 24/11/2022 14:13

@Countingchicks oh great I hope that's the case for me, however, I've just wiped some more pink. I have a feeling AF may be coming a couple of days early
