Absolutely no way I'm pregnant, but...

DH had the snip about 9 years ago.

I am 36.

Very regular periods.

I am 10 days late.

5 days ago I thought I was starting because I had brown discharge. That carried on a couple of days and has now stopped.

I've had soft cramps for about a week but nothing starts.

I know it's completely ridiculous of me to think pregnancy but it's very much like my pregnancies!

I also usually have sore boobs before my period but not got that.

I feel ridiculous spending money on a test when my husband is sterile of 9 yrs.

The advice given is once the initial tests are clear after they have had the vasectomy, then there is a 1/2000 chance of the tubes rejoining of their own accord up to 10 years after the procedure.

SafeHeaven · 29/06/2022 21:24

I think it’s positive but would buy a clear blue to be sure

ladydoris · 29/06/2022 21:23

I saw a faint grey stuff, but at 10 date late it should definitely be another colour. So I'd say you are not positive op. Check it again. With a cheap one.

Katya213 · 29/06/2022 21:23

That is a positive pregnancy test.

DoNutSweatTheSmallStuff · 29/06/2022 21:23

Test again tomorrow.

He did only do the first test. But it's been 9 years.

With my other kids I got pregnant the first month of trying, every time. So we are both very fertile.

If the vasectomy failed from the outset I'm sure I would have gotten pregnant way before now.

I saw a paternity court recently. The man accused his wife of cheating because he had a vasectomy 10 years ago. She was an alcoholic but swore she had no memory of having relations with anyone. Although admitted that it could have been possible. Anyhow, he was the daddy. Something to do with the tubes rejoining with scar tissue. It's rare but possible.

I personally think you are seeing an evaporation line. I would check with a clear blue because I think they are more accurate and easier to read. I would also get DH to do the second test. It will put your mind at rest for the future.

JoshLymanIsHotterThanSam · 29/06/2022 21:15

We worked out from my dates-if ovulated about 3 days before my period was due.

JoshLymanIsHotterThanSam · 29/06/2022 21:15

DC3 I was 10 days late, had some brown spotting about 4 days earlier but still negative tests. Went to the docs who did a blood test that showed up the pregnancy. He’s now a strapping 12 year old.

you need to do another test in the morning OP. I too can see a pink line.

PrivateHall · 29/06/2022 21:13

Period is 10 days late, positive pregnancy test..... I really do think you are pregnant op. Whether or not it is a viable pregnancy, I think you will know soon enough. I hope you are ok Flowers I would definitely retest soon with a different test and first wee of the day, yes you can save it over for an hour or two if necessary. Good luck op, I hope this all works out the way you want it to.

Irishfarmer · 29/06/2022 21:13

Looks positive to me.... def test again tomorrow.

Techno56 · 29/06/2022 21:07

This happened to me, my husband had a vasectomy 13 yrs ago. Late period - I took several FRER tests and got faint lines, absolutely terrified! Digitals were negative.

I got on a complete state and my GP did a blood test, which was negative. My period arrived ten weeks later (honestly I have no idea..)

Spooked me so much I went on the mini pill 🤣 although I needed it to help control heavy periods once they did arrive ...think mine was some weird peri menopause thing (I'm 43)

Don't trust the vague pink line!

Christinatherabbit · 29/06/2022 21:07

All my positives have looked like that for quite a few weeks. Given the symptoms as well I would definitely re test! FX it works out okay for you either way

Wingingit15 · 29/06/2022 20:56

agree you need to test in morning. FX it works out for you

user1471460621 · 29/06/2022 20:51

I’d definitely get tested again, just so you can have peace of mind.

Hallyup89 · 29/06/2022 20:48

First response are a bugger for evaps. I had multiple negative lines like that.

MiniMoosey · 29/06/2022 20:47

Oh gosh I’d test again to be sure. That’s quite dark for an evap

RudsyFarmer · 29/06/2022 20:46

I suspect that’s a line but it might not be a viable pregnancy. I also think your DH needs to get his swimmers tested again 😬

TheBikiniExpert · 29/06/2022 20:43

I think you need to test again. It's unlikely but not impossible.

Thursday37 · 29/06/2022 20:43

I can see the line but I had one like that on a FR with a very late period and it wasn’t positive. So it’s probably not.
It really freaked me out though as had the same faint line on 2 different tests.

RisingSunn · 29/06/2022 20:40

I only call that an ‘obvious’ line because my tests were always this faint early on.

Rabbitholedigger · 29/06/2022 20:40

Have* see I need my glasses 😂

Rabbitholedigger · 29/06/2022 20:38

That's not an evap that's a faint line.

I don't has my glasses on and can see that.

Anyway, supporting you OP FlowersFlowers

HappyAsASandboy · 29/06/2022 20:35

I have a post-vasectomy baby.

I have had 5 pregnancies and all were very feint for weeks on end.

Take another test tomorrow and see what it says!

How long after the vasectomy?

rubberhead · 29/06/2022 20:37

Any update op? Thinking of you

RisingSunn · 29/06/2022 20:35

I can see an obvious pink line there! Pink dye is more reliable than blue.
