Ovulation

Hi, my ovulation snuck up on me this month and I’m wondering how likely I am to get pregnant, my tests normally gradually get darker so I know when it’s coming so can time intercourse for the days leading up but my tests went from barely a line to very positive in a matter of 12 hours, I test every 12 hours and the test 24 hours before the positive was no line at all, the test 12 hours before there was a line coming and then it was blazing and very positive so we only had intercourse a few hours after the positive test and the next day but I’ve read it’s the intercourse before the positive that is more likely to get you pregnant than once you’ve got a positive test. Thank you for any advice or insight.

No way, there must be something in the water! Imagine if we all got BFPs…!

@Wouldloveanother oh my it’s so crazy that you say that as my surge was really brief as well, the shortest surge I’ve ever actually had!!

The same thing has happened to me and some other ladies, I started a thread about it yesterday (called ‘early ovulation’). Mine is usually CD12 but I got my surge on CD9 which was yesterday. We dtd on CD6, CD8 and CD9. The surge was really brief however and while clearly positive, not AS strong as it usually is. I’m mystified as usually I’m predictable as anything.

Georgia2609 · 23/06/2022 19:38

@Wouldloveanother it was CD10 and I usually ovulate CD15

@KatySp yeah my ovulation quite often is a day or two off so I wouldn’t be shocked if it just came a little early, I’ve tried temping but I wake up so much in the night and get up so much and never go to bed or get up at the same time so it doesn’t really work for me info

Which cycle day was that?

KatySp · 23/06/2022 19:13

Not to say it wasn't ovulation because some people do just randomly ovulate early but if you don't temp to confirm ovulation then you might wanna check again when you normally ovulate.

Georgia2609 · 23/06/2022 19:10

@KatySp it was 5 days early so that’s when we’d normally start trying, I don’t normally have surges before ovulation but that’s interesting to know, I’ll keep testing for another week and see if I have another thank you

When you get a positive test you usually ovulate 24-48 hours later so I would say you covered it.

How early was ovulation? I sometimes get a few surges of LH before the real one.
