Short cycle ladies!

Would anyone be interested in a short cycle ttc thread, or just short cycle chat in general?

My cycles range from 25-29 days but usually 26 or 27. Period starts 15 days after ovulation like clockwork. Got a positive OPK today on CD9, assuming I will ovulate CD10 and this one will be 25 days. I’m worried this is too short, although I recall worrying about the same thing before conceiving my now 2 year old - so assuming this is normal ‘for me’.

interested to hear from others😊

@WolfMother326 could I ask how you knew you ovulated so early day 7 and 9.

I also have short cycles, average regular around 24 days.

I have used OPK's Clearblue digital ...have had a high read from day 10

WolfMother326 · 09/08/2022 10:18

@Callie25 thus was my exact situation two years ago. I had three mirenas in a row. When I got it taken out in Jan 2020 I was having 23-25 day cycles, ovulating on day 7-9, often when I was still spotting or lightly bleeding. I took vitex supplements which I think helped me. It took 9 months to get pregnant. On the month I caught, we did it on cycle day 7 I think, and not again as we were taking a break. I've got a healthy baby now. Since giving birth, my cycles are 27-29 days and way less bleeding. I hope this helps and wish you luck..

Callie25 · 06/08/2022 23:32

I'm new to this, I had the Mirena coil for 5 years before I had it removed in January, we've been TTC since. My cycles are 23-25 days and I don't know anyone in a similar position to me. I bleed for 7-8 days, does anyone know if you can ovulate near the end of your period? I also only have one ovary due to a dermoid cyst destroying my other one during lockdown 🤦🏻‍♀️ So stressed with all this!

Lollywhite · 02/08/2022 18:49

Yeah I think I’m going to try my best, maybe till after weekend! My previous cycles have been 29/28/24/23/21 days long so has slightly decreased each month by a day or so! This month I have began taking pregnacare pre conception and it does suggest on the box that women have reported changed to the length in monthly cycles!

in now CD25 so praying 🙏🏻 Xx

Wouldloveanother · 01/08/2022 20:49

Thanks! Got my BFP on CD21 - faint but quite clearly visible. I also got my BFP with DD on CD21 - think I ovulated on CD12 so was 9dpo or thereabouts. Its very early though and then there’s a long wait to see if period turns up 😬 so if you can hold off, do! I have no willpower…

@Wouldloveanother oh wow that’s amazing! Congratulations xx

I’m really not sure I was guna wait till after the weekend unless AF suprises me! I’m CD24 now, how many DPO were you when you got your BFP?

H1994 · 01/08/2022 20:15

@Wouldloveanother congratulations 🎊

Wouldloveanother · 01/08/2022 19:01

Hi Lolly! Very excited to say I got my BFP a few days ago 😊 just got to keep my fingers crossed now. When are you planning on testing?

OP posts:
Lollywhite · 01/08/2022 18:59

@Wouldloveanother how you getting on? Xx

after the flashy face I continued to get them for the next 5 days until I ran out of tests so just continued with the Premom ones think I hit my peak around CD16/CD17 so if I ovulated on just say CD18 I’m around 6DPO now xx

Wouldloveanother · 20/07/2022 08:16

Got a positive last night, but I think it was the tail end of the surge - it’s a bit fainted this morning. Here it is anyway! Fingers crossed you get the static soon and can get to work!

Have you had a positive OPK yet @Wouldloveanother?

I’ve just tested again tonight as had a strange feeling something would show and I’ve had the flashy smiley! So hoping my static will show in the next couple days xxx

@Wouldloveanother have been TTC every other day...starting on day 9. But that hast always be possible with DH away with work on occasion.
Looked at my last few months on my Flo app and DTD was day 8,10,12 and then 16!

Think we are not DTD enough!!

Wouldloveanother · 17/07/2022 16:14

winterfox78 · 17/07/2022 14:24

@Wouldloveanother yes I have a beautiful DD who is 3.
So trying for number 2...

The OPK says that day 10 is a High reading..I'm using Clearblue digital ones...so to get the peak I must ovulate, day 12?
Is that right on a 24 day cycle?

Generally ovulation happens 12ish hours after the peak, so I would say day 11 in your case. What day do you start dtd? (If that’s not TMI!)

*due in less than 2 months

Balletshoes2022 · 17/07/2022 14:34

Hey, I also have a regular but short cycle (21-24 days) but always seemed to have positive OPK on day 11 or 12. It took about 6 months TTC but got a positive in December and in less than 2 months! On the month we conceived I didn’t pay as much attention to the OPK, we just tried regularly before during and after ovulation rather than just focusing around ovulation time, not sure if that made a difference!

Hi All!

Thought I'd reply... my cycles are between 22-25 days 🙈 and I'm TTC as soon as Auntie Flo has gone! Does having a shorter cycle effect the chances of falling pregnant??

H x

Wouldloveanother · 16/07/2022 15:33

Thank you Wolf! CD9 and no positive OPK yet so thinking it will be day 11/12 as usual. I was going to SMEP this month, but depends if I have the energy! Otherwise every other day plus fertilily will have to do!

WolfMother326 · 16/07/2022 15:29

One other thing that worked was just having sex every other or every third day rather than trying fertile window. I think we did it on day 6 the month I conceived!

WolfMother326 · 16/07/2022 15:27

Just stopping by to offer a hopeful story. I had 23-25 day cycles and would ovulate on days 7-9 of cycle depending. Turn 14 days till period. I was so worried I couldn't get pregnant. After trying for 9 months I was lucky and now have a lovely boy. Cycles are now 28-29 days (apparently pregnancy can help reset hormones). I took vitex/agnus castus and I'm not sure if that helped. Good luck xx

Wouldloveanother · 16/07/2022 14:15

Hi winter! I hear so much about long or irregular cycles but regular-ish short ones don’t get mentioned much. I conceived my daughter on what I think was CD9/10 - an early scan put me 5 days ahead, and I’m given to believe very early scans are quite accurate. So, it didn’t seem to affect things last time 🤞🏻
here’s hoping for us both! How long have you been ttc? Do you have any kids or trying for a first?

winterfox78 · 16/07/2022 14:12

Hoping to join...TTC number 2....
Cycles are 24/24 on average.
Using OPK's , hit a positive on Day 9 and 10 so I assume I ovulate after that...

Been trying for about 5 months now..,,

Lollywhite · 16/07/2022 10:15

@FirstTimeTryer93 aww that’s amazing .. I know fingers crossed! Xxx

FirstTimeTryer93 · 15/07/2022 18:30

I also got a positive OPK on CD9. I have 24 day cycles. I got my BFP this month at 9dpo so don't worry about ovulating early, anything is possible :) xxx

Lollywhite · 15/07/2022 18:09

Oh yeah let me know how u get on! Xx
