I’m now 3dpo and trying to feel positive. My OPK peak times up with when I had EWCM and I’m sure I had some ovulation pain on Thursday. I’ve never realised it before now but I nearly always have a pain for a few hours in between AF’s so guess I nearly always have it but never paid any attention to what is was or why. Even though the timings all line up I still have a fear that I ovulated much later and missed dtd at the right time. I know it’s irrational 😂

Funnily enough when I conceived my daughter we wasn’t ttc just wasn’t always being very careful and only had sex around once a week but not every week so amazing that just hit the right time really. This time when I’m properly ttc I’m worrying that 4 times isn’t enough (2 days before ovulation, ovulation and day after) 😂 I keep thinking what if my ewcm AND my opk was wrong 😂

@Angie2018 yea I’m hoping he didn’t have covid, no way to tell now though. He was able to work etc on his feet all day so it wouldn’t have been a really bad case

@OCM19 im so glad to hear they have their rainbow baby 🌈

I think my partners family will be hoping we are/will be soon ttc as he’s not got a child but my daughter is 7 and when with my ex husband I didn’t want another so my family and friends will be shocked. I didn’t want another with him though because we weren’t working

@Norfolk1983 are you from Norfolk by any chance? Loads of 39 years old conceive. I’m 37 and keep trying to remind myself of this but I worry about my age too

OP posts:
Angie2018 · 19/06/2022 22:38

@Norfolk1983 yeah exactly! My OH was no different to start with, just told me to relax and said one night could get me pregnant. I had to explain that I have a 24 hour window and it doesn't work like that... having sex once in a blue moon unprotected 🤣 now we are cycle 6 & had a chemical pregnancy last month, he's well on board with being at it like rabbits x

Norfolk1983 · 19/06/2022 22:29

Yes you are right :) give it a six months and he might change his tune! Men just think it’s far easier than it is!

Angie2018 · 19/06/2022 22:25

@Norfolk1983 fair enough it's not for everyone! I understand the relaxed approach and not scheduling DTD, but I actually find this more relaxing so I don't worry if I've done it enough but we are all different x

Norfolk1983 · 19/06/2022 22:20

Sadly my other half and I have really busy jobs and dtd that often just won’t happen! He seems like quite a few guys in that he doesn’t want to ‘schedule’ dtd so not sure SMEP will suit us! 😞

Angie2018 · 19/06/2022 22:10

@Norfolk1983 also Google success stories as will give you hope! We are doing it for the first time this month... hoping it's our month! & yours too 💜

Norfolk1983 · 19/06/2022 22:00

Hi, @Angie2018 no I haven’t! Will give it a google now :) x

Angie2018 · 19/06/2022 21:49

@Norfolk1983 have you tried SMEP? Apparently it's amazing and people swear by it! If you haven't heard about it give it a Google! You certainly aren't out of time yet, it may take slightly longer but it may not. My friend came off the pill age 37 & conceived her daughter in her first month of trying. She's now 5! X

Norfolk1983 · 19/06/2022 21:42

I’m on cd14 and have a 26 day cycle. This is our third month trying. I had a positive ov test on cd11 and dtd that morning. Had also dtd on evening of cd9. Next period is due 1st July. I’m 39 TTC my first x not very confident at all given my age 😬

OCM19 · 19/06/2022 21:38

Wow this thread moves quickly!! It’s so lovely to have a group where were all in the TWW.

@allgoodthings84 my step brother had a stillborn at full-term last January, and they’ve just given birth to another little boy 🌈

my mum friends know I’m TTC as this is baby #2, but parents etc don’t as i don’t want the pressure! I’ve just done an OPK and it’s low so hopefully a good sign ovulation has happened. We can stop DTD every other day now! X

Angie2018 · 19/06/2022 21:14

@allgoodthings84 ah me too! It's so nice to hear other peoples journeys too it stops me feeling so alone!

We haven't told anyone either, I think people like my step kids suspect just because of the length of time we've been together and same with my family. Same with one of my close friends. But we haven't told anyone that's our plan.

Covid will defo affect male fertility, I also wish we knew so I could have written a couple of cycles off so I didn't get so sad for a couple of months. We had it BAD and it most definitely affected cycle 3 & 4. They say up to 3 months for men and for woman it's a bit hit and miss. I defo ovulated both cycles but first one was late ovulation by 4 days and the second was early by a day.

I suspect your cold won't affect anything. I think Covid may have a chance to. But a cold shouldn't be an issue. Fingers crossed for you!

allgoodthings84 · 19/06/2022 21:05

I did test though and it’s not covid for me

allgoodthings84 · 19/06/2022 21:04

I’m so glad I’ve got all of you to talk to. I haven’t told anyone we are ttc, have you ladies?

I’m 37 but my partner is 32 and he has no kids so hopefully we can have a baby together

my partner was poorly at the beginning of the month. A really bad cold but he still had to go into work etc as well enough to so he wore a mask and didn’t test for covid as he would have to go in anyway and he kept away from others and only went to work just in case. Now I’m thinking I wish he had tested as I’ve read it can effect sperm afterwards so would be good to have known. I’ve currently got a cold but not feeling poorly it’s just my nose. Started yesterday 2dpo though so hoping as it was after ovulation it won’t affect any potential implantation etc

@Cdoc absolutely it's sooo nice to have others to chat to who know how horrible the TWW is! Thank you, I am just trying to see the positives and that's that we can get pregnant, the sperm met the egg and so the right egg will come along soon! Yes I agree, it's defo got to be our month this month! Will this be your first? How long have you been TTC for? This will be my first and cycle 6. But we had bad Covid cycle 3 & 4 so can't really count those as Covid is known to affect male fertility for up to 3 months and it certainly did weird things with my cycles. First cycle with good sperm back and it was a bloody chemical so I really hope this month is the month! Sending positivity, love & baby dust to all 💜 xx

Cdoc · 19/06/2022 20:48

@Angie2018 thank you, and sorry to hear about your chemical too. I’m 33 too and husband is 37 so feel like it’s our time!
let’s breed all the positivity and keep each other going 🥰✨it’s made me feel more positive about the long tww wait already!!xx

Ablackcat · 19/06/2022 20:48

I’ll be testing but not hopeful. I only got a solid smiley today on CBD and DH is away so last DTD Tuesday. I’m hoping one may have hung around for long enough to have impregnated me!

Angie2018 · 19/06/2022 20:46

@OCM19 the TWW basically feels like a year doesn't it 🙈 I suspect il be chatting away to you lot on here and searching for everyone else's BFPs as that just makes me happy and hopeful 🥰 also I am going to test earlier this month. Like 10dpo I think. I never test this early but I feel like it may stop me tormenting myself! X

Angie2018 · 19/06/2022 20:44

Cdoc · 19/06/2022 20:41

@Angie2018 and @OCM19
sending lots of baby dust!! So hopeful for some lovely bfp’s in this group 😊

@Cdoc thank you hun! Sending you baby dust back & praying for sticky beans for us all! Sorry to hear about your MMC! I had a chemical last month... so we all deserve our sticky BFPs this cycle! Let's breed so much positivity on this thread 🥰

Angie2018 · 19/06/2022 20:42

@allgoodthings84 yeah you are right people think it's just the woman that's suffers, I know that would rip my partner to shreds if that happened. Maxing your parents got through it!!

Totally agree! If someone said to me it's going to happen THIS month or in 3 months time or so, I'd be like it's fine I can wait but it's the not knowing if it will happen although I am pretty sure it will, it's just nerve wracking I think. I am 33 now, partners 43. He has two teenage kids already, i feel like we are so over ready to have our own it's like I have no patience and focus on my age!

Cdoc · 19/06/2022 20:41

Cdoc · 19/06/2022 20:40

@allgoodthings84 I think you are so right. The heartache would be too much, and I know exactly what you mean about the obsessive testing. With my pregnancy in April I didn’t test until AF was 4 days late, and I had quite a few symptoms by then.

I do think Opk’s are a good idea, life gets too busy to be dtd every other day for 3 weeks! And our bodies are doing strange things to us sometimes, it feels mad that all through school we are taught how easy it is to fall pregnant, and then you find out the window of days is actually so small. We need to know when those eggs are ready!!

Oh god you need to test before that bbq 🤣hopefully by then there will be lovey sticky babies in there for us 🤞🏼🤞🏼

Staying positive is about the best we can do. This is my first cycle post mmc so I’m not actually sure when AF is due, which does worry me a little bit, but opk’s confirmed the ovulation so I’m focusing on those rather than any other dates.

Got to keep ourselves busy and hope the time passes ✨ and hope this month is our month!

just read your post about your poor mum too, what a horrific thing to go through. How positive that she focuses on the fact she wouldn’t have had you otherwise, there was a happy ending to her story xx

allgoodthings84 · 19/06/2022 20:38

@Angie2018 my mum says that everyone felt sorry for her but no one asked how my dad was feeling. They didn’t think about the fact he had lost his baby too. I have to believe everything in life happens for a reason.

exactly! Seeing others get bfp makes you see that it can and will happen for us all at some point too. I don’t mind how long it takes as long as it happens. Would just be nice to know that it is definitely going to happen though. It’s all very random and a numbers game like a roll of a dice. At some point it will roll in our favour

OP posts:
Angie2018 · 19/06/2022 20:32

@allgoodthings84 I just cannot imagine how couple get through losses like that! Just so awful. Such a cruel thing for people to go through!!

It's so nice to hear she had other children and no other miscarriages too. I do genuinely believe that sometimes things like this happen and it's not that there's anything wrong with us, it's just sometimes nature just doesn't happen as it's supposed to and ends in sad losses.

Wow you really do need a break! Atleast you won't be under pressure to DTD and like you say hopefully you won't need to! But if you do you will find it fun in august as you will have had a break.

Yes july is a long month!

I agree some of us should be getting our BFPs this cycle, so many got theirs in June which is just so motivating!

I actually LOVE seeing everyone's BFPs it makes me happy and hopeful and statistically if it's not our month it's just bringing us even closer to our month!!

allgoodthings84 · 19/06/2022 20:12

@Angie2018 it must have been incredibly hard for her. It was at full term and her first baby so I can only imagine what her and my dad went through. She then went in to have me and my brother and no known miscarriages afterwards so was a random loss.

I can’t wait to go away. It’s been 4 years since I’ve had a holiday and that time I woke up with tonsillitis the first morning. The one before that was before I knew I was pregnant so nearly 8 years ago! So need it 😂

actually thinking about it if AF comes 1st July then I’ll have 2 in July too. I don’t think we will get chance to dtd when away though but we will see. At least there’s no pressure ha ha then August will be back on it but yea hopefully we won’t need to

statistically surely some of us should get a bfp this cycle. Hopefully all of us that would be amazing. Will make me feel better getting AF if I see any of you getting your bfp though
