Hi @mummatara thanks for your reply. It’s helpful to know medichecks was a good service.

The not knowing really is the worst of it. It’s easier to be pragmatic when you know.

I’m not optimistic, today I feel more like I do on my period. I’d written it off before I spoke to the early pregnancy unit, who’ve suggested it might just be early bleeding but then won’t offer tests. I feel worse now than I did this morning when I thought it was game over.

Sorry to hear about your MMC. I know myself it wasn’t a pleasant experience.

mummatara · 11/07/2022 13:45

@Singingloudforalltohear sorry I don't have any experience or advice as I've not long had surgery for a MMC. But I did use medichecks blood test service to test my hcg levels last week and they were brilliant I wouldn't hesitate to use them again.

I am sorry your going through this and the road blocks it's so hard when you just want some answers

Singingloudforalltohear · 11/07/2022 13:37

Hope someone can give some guidance. Had a MMC in December. I'm 4 weeks pregnant today and having light cramps and light bleeding - what would be classed as spotting. Less than would need a pantyliner to be changed within 2 hours.

Have had a previous missed miscarriage.

Spoke to early pregnancy unit and they won't see me. Been asked to wait to see if the bleeding continues for more tan 72 hours.

I asked them to take a blood test to check beta HCG levels but they won't unless the bleeding continues for more than 72 hours.

Think if this doesn't proceed it'll be classed as a chemical pregnancy.
Feeling pragmatic about it but want to know what's going on
I just want to know what's going on. Have tried to get private blood tests to no avail - no appointments until end of week. Am using online service - medichecks that'll post out a finger prick test to send away, that'll arrive tomorrow. It takes a day to get back to them and you get the first results 2 working days after that. I'll do a second test on Thursday (48 hours after the first) and repeat the same process.

It's frustrating that they don't offer testing at this stage. I prefer to have information even if it points towards a negative outcome.

Any experience or advice?

mummatara · 11/07/2022 11:41

@curliegirlie how odd my temp has been fairly consistent in the weather still 🙈

Mabelledox · 11/07/2022 11:40

@curliegirlie My temp this morning was higher than I expected but wondered whether it's because I was sat in the sun all day yesterday 🤷🏻‍♀️

curliegirlie · 11/07/2022 11:39

Ha, Fertility Friend seems to be as confused as me about what's going on 😂. Is anyone else who's temping finding their bbt affected by this weather?!
I got another high reading today, which could be post ovulation, the weather or maybe because we had quite a bit of wine in this heat...but what's really foxing me is yesterday's low temp. I even took it again in case I was misreading it, but no....

I guess I still just have to wait to find out whether I'm 4DPO, still yet to ovulate or not going to ovulate on this cycle 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️😩🤪🤯

Ladies never thought I would ever be happy to say this but AF just made her first appearance since my surgery 🥳

FfayeN · 11/07/2022 07:37

@bunnykins123 I dont think I have/had any signs. I had a D&C in March which can cause it, and the last two ovulations have been a little painful but I don't know if that was a sign or not! When I spoke to Prof Quenby she said the worst side effect is super sensitive skin in the sun, so with the heatwave on its way that's what I'm most worried about, but I guess I won't know how they effect me until I start taking them. It's 2x 100mcg tablets a day, for 14 days. So I'm taking one with breakfast, one with dinner and seeing how that goes! xx

Astar21 · 10/07/2022 23:33

@Tor88 that actually sounds reasonable for both of you to be tested. And either way should hopefully give you peace of mind or answers. You'll have to let me know how you get on with your results.
It's such a rollercoaster of emotions. Even when I tell myself I'm not going to get obsessed over it all I can't help it. Hopefully AF won't turn up for you, but if it does then fresh cycle 😊 I'm counting down the days now til fertile window begins 😆

Indianna2006 · 10/07/2022 20:54

@bunnykins123 I would suggest if you don’t know already. Try to locate your cervix first. So you roughly had a idea of where it is. How far back. Tilted to one side. Tilted to the back etc if you can find it.

then when you place it in. I found it was easier to push it up with two fingers either side of the edges. And then like keep those two dinners supporting it whilst I inverted it by pulling the cord. As if you let go and try invert it and tend to dislodge. Then once it’s inverted and in. Then put your fingers back in and try push it up as deep as it can go. I tend to find putting legs up agaisnt bed and pushing it deeper helped get it right place.

sorry if that’s a bit graphic haha. But first couple month so was using it way too low. And once I did it right place. Bingo! Lol baby was made x

calimc83 · 10/07/2022 20:39

@Indianna2006 definitely a good idea to hold out I think. Apparently we all have some low level of HCG in our system, pregnant or not. I wonder if this is what Frers pick up sometimes? I've tested early and been so down and then got a BFP a few days later so defo best to hang on ( though i know it's easier said than done sometimes 😬 ) x

Tor88 · 10/07/2022 17:57

@Astar21 we decided to pursue private tests even though I know it's likely just bad luck. I've always had the most horrific period pain so after two miscarriages I couldn't help but worry there was some connection. It was £580 to test us both (scans, bloods, semen) so I decided to take the plunge on the off chance there is anything I can do to help next time... We get the results tomo! Gulp..

I'm still testing stark negative this month so I think I cant be and my faint bfp on Monday was some weird blip. It's bizarre though I've had so many symptoms over the past week that match with my other two pregnancies, but AF due today (or possibly tomo) so I think there would surely be a hint of a second line by now if I had caught. It's been really frustrating as I wanted to have a month off of all this stuff but instead have been obsessively testing because of all these symptoms, I think my post MC body has just gone a bit haywire I guess?! I really want AF to just arrive now so I can reset and mentally move forward...

youngiesophie · 10/07/2022 17:51

Hi guys, not sure if anyone remembers me or will find anything I have to say useful but I had 4 miscarriages in a row and am now currently 11 weeks pregnant. I was on folic acid, vitamin d, baby aspirin and using hot water bottles at time of ovulation but what I think may have really helped me was cutting out gluten as much as I could because I suspected I was intolerant to gluten. Sorry if it sounds stupid but before I cut it out I read a lot about intolerances and infertility and miscarriages so maybe this can help someone too! Spreading baby dust to everyone in this group♥️💓

curliegirlie · 10/07/2022 12:59

@bunnykins123 oh yes. OPKs have returned to being squinters again, so crossing fingers this won't end up being an anovulatory cycle again - I thought I'd see the back of those!!

bunnykins123 · 10/07/2022 12:34

@curliegirlie it's so confusing, isn't it. Are you still testing with opks? You can guarantee AF is due to arrive at the worst time 🤦‍♀️

@Chellooo my periods / cycle defo went a bit funky for a while after my miscarriages. I think it's normal due to hormones etc.

@ASwimInAPondInTheRain after my chemicals, I didn't test immediately after but always found by the time my AF was due the next cycle, they were always negative. I'm sorry to hear about your cps, I have also had 3 in a row 💕

@Greymalkin12 I take Severn seas pre conception, vit d, ubiqunol (same as coq 10 but the more natural form) and aspirin.

@Indianna2006 good luck for the 2ww! I find it the hardest part of my cycle as I'm constantly questioning symptoms. I'm going to give the ferti lily a whirl this month, do you have any advice before we attempt? Will try playing around with it tonight before a proper attempt!

@FfayeN really interested to know about the antibiotics and biopsy. Did you have any symptoms of a infection? I've heard good things about getting the antibiotics but would want to know more before taking them! What specifically do you have to take?

MrsGrealish · 10/07/2022 11:19

@Chellooo my first AF was longer and heavier. I'm 5dpo so hoping this one will be lighter 🙏

curliegirlie · 10/07/2022 09:52

Hmm, now looks like it wasn't early ovulation as I still haven't had a sustained temp shift (two high temps, possibly one of which the result of a drinking session on Friday, followed by 36.16 this morning....) so back to the waiting game... CD15 today so it could still be in the next few days without being too odd. It's probably my body just ensuring that AF is due slap bang on my birthday later this month 🙄

Annapolis35 · 10/07/2022 09:33

@Chellooo mine have been abnormally heavy and lasting a bit longer. The first proper one after lasted 10 days but I felt like it was my body resetting and a release

Chellooo · 10/07/2022 08:12

So ladies I'm officially out af arrived with a vengeance. Can I just ask tho, how your periods have been post mmc? Normally mine are super light as in could go a day on one reg tampon ( not that I would, ick) no pain and lasted 3 days. My 1st one post mmc was just like my usual. I'm now on my 2nd post mmc which arrived last night and it's horrific. The pain is awful like I'd to get up and take painkillers last night and have had to change 3 times already! Is this normal for such an absolute change?

Astar21 · 09/07/2022 23:35

@Mabelledox oh hi cycle buddy!! Sorry to hear of your losses too. It's scary ttc again but feel like I just need to throw myself back into it & hope our time will come soon. What does the protocol entail?

Mabelledox · 09/07/2022 22:50

@Astar21 I am also on CD1 and it is going to be our first month TTC after two back to back miscarriages and a D&C in April. Nervous but excited as I'm on Dr.Shehatas protocol for the first time so let's see if it does the job!

Astar21 · 09/07/2022 22:24

@Tor88 it's truly heartbreaking. We are absolutely on a very similar timeline! After the 2nd MC I went to my GP & they referred me for basic blood tests, & they all came back normal. I was tempted to go private for further investigations but my GP reassured me how common 2 is & to try again. So that's what we decided to do! Although I'm terrified of it happening again. Have you pursued any testing?
When we first started ttc I wasn't particularly worried about my age, but DH is 41 so that plays on my mind.
Have you tested again today? My AF arrived so CD1 here we go!

Indianna2006 · 09/07/2022 21:59

@calimc83 usually about 12dpo. Did 10dpo this cycle tho and had a bad indent. So gonna try hold out for like 12/13dpo this time

calimc83 · 09/07/2022 21:03

@Indianna2006 everything crossed for you!! Are u an early tester or will u try hold on? X

ASwimInAPondInTheRain · 09/07/2022 20:58

Hi everyone. How long after a chemical will my pregnancy test be negative? I started bleeding 8 days ago at 15 DPO after some v strong BFPs in the preceding days and there's still a faint positive on my strip pg test today.

I tried my ClearBlue ovulation tracker today and it said I was at my peak which seems a bit soon! I wondered if my HCG levels might have confused the ovulation tracker although the line on the pg test is vv faint. Just wondering if anyone else has experienced a faint line after bleeding and when it might disappear? I do not think I'm still pg but I do want to move on from this cp - my 3rd in a row.

Going to take a month off TTC I think to give my body and mind a rest x
