Fruitloop so sorry about your news hun. There are loads of threads with PCOS ladies on here and many with positive stories so maybe worth a read in a few days when you have sorted your head a bit. Is PCOS a good enough reason to convince DH to allow you to temp ...? Loiuse Redknapp had PCOS too.

well at least you know what you have an they can now put you in the right direction for getting pregnant

oh i dont know what to say honey please try and keep yourself up and hoefully that letter will bring you closer to clomid

Thanks neveronamonday. I suspect my DH knew something was up, because he asked whether he was 'on duty' last night or if it was 'just for fun' .

I've seen you're on the graduate list - congratulations!! Do you know when you're due?

Saw your message before - I didn't know Victoria Beckham had PCOS. So much for my extensive reading.......

Just proves what I said though about losing weight being helpful if you want to conceive .

Hi.

Signed up last month and then disappeared off. My computer kept crashing when I tried to log on, and then AF came anyway (day 28), so just wanted to forget about the whole thing for a while.

So, am now on CD13, and ready to start again for another try. Hubby's on strict instructions to get home early this week and not to drink too much. I've washed my best underwear and had an extensive smartening up session in the bathroom last night. Fingers crossed.....

Fruitloop. Huge sympathies about the PCOS. I was diagnosed when I was 20, so have known for many years that I might have difficulty conceiving. I've done some extensive reading on the subject over the years, and there's no reason why you can't conceive - just that it might take a little bit longer. I know you're going to feel upset today, but when you're ready to, there are lots of things you can do to address it. I take EPO to combat some of the hormonal symptoms, and you can do a lot to help yourself through what you eat - a low GI diet can really help. The biggest difference you can make is to lose weight if you're overweight.

you probably don't need to hear all this now, but I have two friends who successfully gave birth after being diagnosed with PCOS. One of them conceived on the night she went out on a post-PCOS-diagnosis bender!! So there's hope......

ah FL sorry the scan wasnt the result you wanted i suppose at least now you know what is wrong and hopefully your GP will give you those magic clomid tablets and you will be on your way FWIW did you know victoria beckham is a PCOS sufferer and she has got 3 boys so it is not impossible to concieve just another hurdle to jump over iyswim {{{{{{hugs}}}}}}

NOAM - thanks for that, I feel a bit stupid not knowing these things. I didn't know whether the OPK stayed positive until after ovulation or it was only positive when the surge is actually happening - sounds like the latter from what you've said.

Fruitloop - have not spoken to you before but just wanted to say I am really sorry to hear your news and hope you get whatever treatment is necessary (clomid) asap

Afternoon girls,

Well, crappy news actually,

I have got Polycystic Ovaries . Right side worse than left but could be worse. She said they are 15 (I'm guessing mm?) To be bad they would be 20. could be worse? Yeah? could be f-ing better!
No cause, no treatment (oh how marvellous)

Defo not preg cos my uterus lining would've thickened . F-ing pg symptoms, I hate them with such a passion - I've had them all weekend

I'm in tears in the doctors office (very sweet woman doctor) DP's reaction? "well we're not in a race with anyone are we! we'll just keep trying"!! Slips off the tongue nice and easy doesn't it!

Oh, and to top it all off, just had a lovely conversation with yet another very good friend who has just announced her pregnancy! I want to SCREAM. I'm finding it really hard to think of friends who aren't pregnant! And what a nightmare for them, they just have to look at their DH/P's and they fall

I knew this would happen, I was in teard last night to DP cos I'd worked myself up (completely unintentionally) into thinking I might possibly be preg.

At least I'm not dying eh? at least I haven't got some debilitating disease.
So I've now got an underactive thyroid and PCO. Any chance for an Endocrine system transplant?

On the plus side, the doctor wrote a letter to my GP which I didn't read (should've done but it was in a sealed envelope). I'm hoping she has asked him to prescribe me Clomid cos she did talk about it and she knew how much we want another baby. She mentioned a blood test too.

I went to see my other preg friend this morning and I explained how insanely jealous I am but very happy for her, she was very sweet actually as there were lots of tears from me.

So next step, an appointment to see my GP with a box of tissues [sniffle][sniffle]and a load of bribery and corruption for those Clomid tablets!

Mibbes - have just done another OPK and it is negative (a very faint test line which, according to the instructions, is negative).

So do you think these means that I have more than like ovulated already now?

eleveld men are funny arent they!! DH tried to open a HPT the other day to feed to the cat!! i asked what he was doin and he just said he thought it was a treat for the cat!! i just said unless you suspect our MALE cat of being up the duff he prob wont be interested they are ebay cheapies aswell and just in plain white packets...the cats are yellow with a pic of a cat on!!

Something to make you laugh and cheer up a Monday morning.

I did an OPK yesterday and it was definitely positive. I left it out on the side to show DP when he got in (it was one of those cheap ebay ones, just a little strip).

When I went to look for it later it was gone so I asked DP if he had seen 'the little cardboard strip' I left out.

He replied 'yes I thought it was the top of a milk carton or something so put it in the bin!'

Hi ElveID CB ! Good news on +ve opk - will go and look at your question. I did opk yesterday and -ve, don't really expect it for a few days as usually cycle is 30-35 days. Get bd'ing missus - this is the good bit
never HCB how are you today ? Doing lots of bd'ing ? I hope your SIL has been giving you peace
FL look forward to hearing outcome of the scan - either way let's hope you have some clarity about long cycles at last !
MTW how are you feeling today ? Are you still apprehensive ? What about top tips from you ? Anything different this month to share with us ? This was first month with monitor wasn't it ?...
MrsEi leave the blinkin' HPT alone - you are soo impatient ! There is no point until at least 10dpo and even then it may be too early - control yourself lady !!

thanks mibbes if i have to be 10DPO the earliest i can test is tomorrow i think i need someone to come and pin me down til next weekend when AF is due DH is like a little devil on my shoulder constantly whispering in an evil voice (wwwaaaaahahaha) i think if things dont happen to plan this month then i am goin to invest in either a thermometer or OPKs to pinpoint my cycle i hate all the guessing but i love the last few days before AF with the am i arent i situation that is before i get the BFN
anywho...hope everyone is ok

Fruitloop - thinking of you and hoping for good news of one kind or another

clouisewood - the implant bleed was about a week before AF was due. I've heard from other people tho that it is normally later than that, so people often confuse it with AF starting. Any more signs of AF??

I got a positive OPK yesterday. Have actually just posted a question under new thread - quick question re OPKs - perhaps you can help with it?

I hope you get a positive OPK soon - have you tested yet?
