Hello ladies.

So this is my story. I am 30years with a beautiful DD, aged 4. We decided we would finally give start trying for baby #2 in May. However, as we had a big family holiday planned for 14 nights during May this meant that we were only able to try prior to going on holiday. So we figured that month was completely out of the question.

My period was due towards the second half of the second week away but Instead I had very sore breasts and a super bubbly stomach. I just figured it was PMT symptoms especially as it was accompanied by spotting.

The spotting continued, everyday. On arrival home, I did a pregnancy test, really not believing I could be pregnant since we were unable to even really "try". To my shock and delight it was positive!

I had some spotting on my DD during early pregnancy so didn't think too much into it. However, the spotting got worse. I tried contacting a local midwife who advised that as I was only 4.5 weeks pregnant there was nothing I could other than wait it out.

It continued, with period cramping pains and a lower bad back, although they were mild. The spotting colour changed to bright red and then on Wednesday (last week) I knew I was completely miscarrying. We are devestated but we understand these things happen. I'm also trying not to overthink everything as that's what I always do.

I've now stopped bleeding. And feel that I've gone through a bit of an emotional roller-coaster the last week. We would like to try again, straight away. So I guess I'm looking for a little advice.

The Dr told me it's probably best to wait a cycle before trying again but looking online there doesn't seem to be any benefit or logic to this if you know you miscarried earlier in pregnancy and have passed the full miscarriage. Do you think I will be fine to immediately try again without first having a period?

And then if I was successful would I just count my pregnancy from the miscarriage bleed? (father than 1st day of last period)

I was thinking of booking a ultrasound scan privately to check the endometrium lining is thick enough to support a pregnancy. Do you think this is wise? And if so, do you think 2 weeks following MC would be the best suitable time to book a scan to view the thickness?

Also, people have told me how common MC is and how I obviously must have found out super early in pregnancy. But I didn't think we did find out super early? A few people have passed the same remark ; " you found out early if you was only 4.5 weeks. Most people don't know until later" now I understand if I hadn't of done a test then I would have assumed this MC was my period. However, I was 3 days passed my due period when I tested so? 😳 Isn't finding out your about 4.5 weeks pregnant about the usual??

Sorry for the ramble. I guess it's nice just to write everything down 🤷🏽‍♀️.

Thanks.

TheCakeIsALie18 · 09/07/2022 21:40

@Lauren441 I do like to try and stay positive. I understand the anxiety though. It still creeps up on me!

@Maya12345 haha thanks. I do love to lift along with karate, judo, horse riding, ballroom dancing and gymnastics lol. Luckily I can still do everything except gymnastics as I teach the martial arts haha.

@yorkshiremumofone yay! Another good line. Eeeek can't wait to see tomorrow's one!

Xx

WaitingWatchingPeeing · 09/07/2022 12:05

@yorkshiremumofone whoop another good line 🤩 I used to always test daily but after my CP last month I tested every 48hr at the same time and it def helped reduce anxiety

WaitingWatchingPeeing · 09/07/2022 11:58

That's a great count @Lauren441 you will def get a 3+ when you do the digi as that's well over the threshold 😍

@Lauren441 wow that's so interesting! Thankyou for sharing that. Crazy how huge that range is.

@TheCakeIsALie18 omg you lift 150kg that is so cool. What an awesome outlook at well.

@yorkshiremumofone dont worry about it being light still you're still so early on! Especially if your wee was light too. Its defo darker than your first one yesterday!

I'm not sure if it's left over from the covid still but I've started to feel super woozy and nauseous today. How's everyone else feeling?

Xx

Something I keep telling myself is that the CP wasn't my fault. It was likely to be a genetic problem between sperm and egg. Something predetermined. Something out of my control.

What it also proves is that I can get pregnant and the statistic are in my favour in that I should be able to carry to term and have a healthy baby.

I hope that helps a little bit. Continue doing the things you love. The endorphins from that is more beneficial to you than being overly careful staying at home xx

@TheCakeIsALie18 - such a good outlook, and you're so right 🙌🏼. I completely agree. Although somehow my anxious brain still manages to creep up here and there. Fingers crossed though, after this first 12 weeks we will all relax and enjoy it a little more. X

@yorkshiremumofone - Yesss! Huge congrats on that beautiful positive line! ❤️

@maya12345 - I did write the number down, but I left the paper at my mums house. But the hcg was around 3450mIU/ml. Which is good, as I know I'm somewhere between 5/6 weeks. The range for hcg is massive though, so it's important to remember that even if you get quite a low number for your week, you can still have a perfectly healthy normal pregnancy. It's for this reason that the range is so broad. As a rough example....

3 weeks 5–72 mIU/mL
4 weeks 10–708 mIU/mL
5 weeks 217–8,245 mIU/mL
6 weeks 152–32,177 mIU/mL
7 weeks 4,059–153,767 mIU/mL
8 weeks 31,366–149,094 mIU/mL
9 weeks 59,109–135,901 mIU/mL
10 weeks 44,186–170,409 mIU/mL
12 weeks 27,107–201,165 mIU/mL

The most important thing to help determine a growing pregnancy is that the level of hcg doubles every 48/72 hours if it's around 1000mIU/ml or under. And if its over 1000mIU/ml then it should increase by around 60/70% every 3 days or so.

Hop this makes sense. I'll keep you posted on my Monday count.

@waitingwatchingpeeing - think I'll do a digi tomorrow. :)

@TheCakeIsALie18 Thankyou that helped!!

I did another test this morning my wee was a little diluted so the test is lighter 😳 which has me worrying, I'm going to do the same thing again and test same time as yesterday with my frer and hold my wee hoping it will be darker 🙈 should I be worried?

yorkshiremumofone · 08/07/2022 21:48

@TheCakeIsALie18 oh wow girl!! Go you!!! 💪🏼💪🏼 ok that's good to know!!! I think having the CP has really made me so nervous about doing anything!

I usually go on stepper for 30 mins on like level 10 too and I dearnt even do that getting my heart rate up hahahah! 🤣🙈

TheCakeIsALie18 · 08/07/2022 21:45

It's only not safe if you started training hard and your body wasn't used to it 👍🏻

TheCakeIsALie18 · 08/07/2022 21:44

@yorkshiremumofone if it makes you feel any better when I conceived last month I spoke with my pt and midwife and they've said I can carry on lifting heavy at 80% of my 1RM. So I'm currently pulling 150kg deadlifts for example so I can still work with 120kg. They said that I could work at my current levels with no problem but I'd likely be more tired so a lower weight would be more manageable. So keep gym-ing girlie. 💪🏻❤️ xx

yorkshiremumofone · 08/07/2022 21:38

@TheCakeIsALie18 id try and drink a little less the day before just to help it a little more? 🤣🤣
I also am a big gym goer and I feel like I need to make my workouts tamer now!!!

TheCakeIsALie18 · 08/07/2022 21:37

@yorkshiremumofone good planning ahead there with the bubbly haha.

So I'm a power lifter and drink a min of 4L water per day haha so I pee like a race horse as standard 😅 if I did my first morning wee it would be at like 3-4am 😅 ill just test at some point in the morning when I need to go but make sure I don't flush anymore fluids through my system than normal lol.

I'm getting so antsy now. Days are dragging! Xx

yorkshiremumofone · 08/07/2022 17:39

@TheCakeIsALie18 I've put a bottle of none alcoholic Prosecco in the fridge 🤣🤣

I think I'll test daily for a couple of days maybe or at least with my cheapies anyway! Would you do the same thing and hold your wee for 4 hours like I did today or just do it on my first mornings as long as it's not as diluted at this mornings? If that makes sense!

TheCakeIsALie18 · 08/07/2022 17:31

@yyorkshiremumofone I'd probably test daily or every other day myself. At the same time too.

So happy for you. Time to celebrate ❤️❤️

yorkshiremumofone · 08/07/2022 17:14

Thanks so much ladies honestly! I'm still in shock looking at the test every 5 mins 🤣

Wow!! Was not expecting this today! Would you test daily now?

Xx

WaitingWatchingPeeing · 08/07/2022 17:11

@yorkshiremumofone yay and I don't think that's faint for 10dpo!!!

Maya12345 · 08/07/2022 16:41

100% BFP! I know it's hard to enjoy it but I guess just try to take each day as it comes and you can really celebrate this right now! Xx

yorkshiremumofone · 08/07/2022 15:44

I don't quite believe it , it's faint I'm so scared it will go like my CP 😓🙈😟

Maya12345 · 08/07/2022 15:27

Aww @yorkshiremumofone there is absolutely no mistaking that one!! So exciting!! Defo do your frer when it arrives, I don't think it would make much difference it not being first morning urine I mean look at that test!!! Congratulations 😁

Also @WaitingWatchingPeeing congrats on your 3+! Such a relief! Have you sorted your booking appt. yet? I did mine online a week ago and still not heard back! Also have my GP follow up on Tuesday to get more progesterone and see if they're going to scan me like they said they would if I made it to 6 weeks 🤞

@Lauren441 good luck with the bloods, did you request them to take them? I'd love to hear what they're meant to be at this stage!

@TheCakeIsALie18 welcome and sorry to hear about your loss but you're very welcome to join the club and hope some of our apparent luck rubs off on you too! 🍀

Also @WaitingWatchingPeeing congrats on your 3+! Such a relief! Have u called the Midwife? I had to do mine online and I've waited all week for them to tell me my appointment but nothing yet.. On Tues I have my 2 week review with the GP to get more progesterone and they said they'd try and refer me for an early scan 🤞

@Lauren441 let us know how the bloods come back, did you ask to have it done? I'd be so interested to know the numbers but I'd have no idea what they mean!

@TheCakeIsALie18 welcome and sorry to hear you're in the club but also I think being in the club has been super lucky 🍀
I was just like @Lauren441@Lauren441
