Hello ladies.

So this is my story. I am 30years with a beautiful DD, aged 4. We decided we would finally give start trying for baby #2 in May. However, as we had a big family holiday planned for 14 nights during May this meant that we were only able to try prior to going on holiday. So we figured that month was completely out of the question.

My period was due towards the second half of the second week away but Instead I had very sore breasts and a super bubbly stomach. I just figured it was PMT symptoms especially as it was accompanied by spotting.

The spotting continued, everyday. On arrival home, I did a pregnancy test, really not believing I could be pregnant since we were unable to even really "try". To my shock and delight it was positive!

I had some spotting on my DD during early pregnancy so didn't think too much into it. However, the spotting got worse. I tried contacting a local midwife who advised that as I was only 4.5 weeks pregnant there was nothing I could other than wait it out.

It continued, with period cramping pains and a lower bad back, although they were mild. The spotting colour changed to bright red and then on Wednesday (last week) I knew I was completely miscarrying. We are devestated but we understand these things happen. I'm also trying not to overthink everything as that's what I always do.

I've now stopped bleeding. And feel that I've gone through a bit of an emotional roller-coaster the last week. We would like to try again, straight away. So I guess I'm looking for a little advice.

The Dr told me it's probably best to wait a cycle before trying again but looking online there doesn't seem to be any benefit or logic to this if you know you miscarried earlier in pregnancy and have passed the full miscarriage. Do you think I will be fine to immediately try again without first having a period?

And then if I was successful would I just count my pregnancy from the miscarriage bleed? (father than 1st day of last period)

I was thinking of booking a ultrasound scan privately to check the endometrium lining is thick enough to support a pregnancy. Do you think this is wise? And if so, do you think 2 weeks following MC would be the best suitable time to book a scan to view the thickness?

Also, people have told me how common MC is and how I obviously must have found out super early in pregnancy. But I didn't think we did find out super early? A few people have passed the same remark ; " you found out early if you was only 4.5 weeks. Most people don't know until later" now I understand if I hadn't of done a test then I would have assumed this MC was my period. However, I was 3 days passed my due period when I tested so? 😳 Isn't finding out your about 4.5 weeks pregnant about the usual??

Sorry for the ramble. I guess it's nice just to write everything down 🤷🏽‍♀️.

Thanks.

Thanks - so annoyed about the covid! I thought I'd actually avoided it for 2 years, now just the best timing ever!

Haha I said the same thing and caved immediately at 9dpo when I had symptoms, I'll be thoroughly impressed if you make it til Fri! Yeah I use first morning urine but mostly because I think id forget.. Actually I used second on one of the tests and it was noticeably weaker!
I'm sort of obsessed with testing now it's bad.

WaitingWatchingPeeing · 28/06/2022 17:54

@Maya12345 Oh no way, that's the last thing you need! Hope you feel better really really soon!

Yeh makes sense with the IB and so nice to have something to try and build your peace of mind.

Iv just ordered some of them, thank you. Do you stick to First morning urine? Last pregnancy I actually always found my second seemed stronger 🤷🏼‍♀️

I'm 9DPO today and had set myself a new target of making it to Friday (originally wanted to get to AF due 😂) but I think it's going to be tough to wait if these tests arrive 🤪

Maya12345 · 28/06/2022 17:50

Thanks @WaitingWatchingPeeing yep I had one early mc. I think the main reason they gave the progesterone and took it seriously was because I had 8 days of light implantion spotting. Been on it for 24 hours now and spotting has totally stopped which is great. I don't know if I necessarily need it but the main point I took away was all it could do is help, not hurt it.

I use Easy@home tests everyday from amazon it was like £8 for 20 tests and they are super sensitive, just as good as FRER.
Picked up my pregnancy on 9dpo and lines have been getting stronger everyday. I did my first CB Digi today at 4+1 and had 2-3weeks so bang on!
Hust hoping I get that 3+ this time next week.
I've just tested positive for covid which has made me worried but so far just really sore throat and headache, no real fever so hope it won't affect anything!

Sorry if you've already said but how many dpo are you if you know?
Xx

WaitingWatchingPeeing · 28/06/2022 17:39

@Maya12345 I'm so impressed with your GP and if I get a positive I'm definitely going to push for similar. Did you have one chemical or more? Iv only had one (and I hope the last) but didn't think GP would be interested without having more 😔

How many days pregnant do you think you are now? Are you using the digitals with weeks indicators to track progress? I did with my first and man do the test companies make a fortune from our anxiety and hope

WaitingWatchingPeeing · 28/06/2022 17:36

I have had a few things that could be symptoms, back ache, gas (sorry 🤦🏼‍♀️) and today/yesterday eating so much more but it could all just be AF coming 🤷🏼‍♀️ this is such a torturous process.

I havnt bought any tests still as I know I will just go crazy testing and make my anxiety worse if it's not a clear positive so waiting a few more days.

@Lauren441 @Maya12345 what tests do you use so that you dont spend a total fortune but feel they are reliable?

Maya12345 · 27/06/2022 19:03

Haha yes do it! I know I was so shocked she actually went to quite a lot of effort when at first she said the usual 'only intervene after 3 mcs' nonsense.. When I mentioned I'd researched progesterone and wanted blood tests etc she sort of perked up. Apparently my EPU and presumably others too are changing their policies and are prescribing progesterone more often when there's previous miscarriage and bleeding of any sort. Just lucky my GP actually got hold of them! Feeling OK thanks, just very tired and sore boobs/bit crampy but not too awful at all! Im weirdly actually looking forward to all the negative side effects I just want to get that far...xx

Lauren441 · 27/06/2022 17:30

@maya12345 - wow that's really impressive! I have a feeling in that situation my GP would have advised there is nothing we can do other than wait it out. So I will most definitely bare this in mind just incase I get spotting next time and gently advise my GP of the outstanding efforts made by your GP 😂👏🏼. Hopefully they'll follow suit then!

Keep us updated on the spotting. Hopefully this should settle now, especially with the tablets. How are you feeling otherwise?

Maya12345 · 27/06/2022 17:10

@WaitingWatchingPeeing thank you so much!! Literally testing everyday (easy at home cheapies) it's actually so satisfying seeing that line darken everyday this time!
@Lauren441 thank you! I was exactly the same, test test test until it becomes clear! Do u know how many dpo you are now?

I was so pleasantly surprised by my GP today, I was so worried as I've had 8 days of very light implantation bleeding and I read that it could well be low progesterone.. My GP actually called the epu and they prescribed it to me! It might not be needed but they assure me it won't hurt! They also said they might be able to do an early scan at 6-7weeks which will hopefully ease my anxiety.

Keep us posted on any results you guys get! X

Lauren441 · 27/06/2022 12:18

@waitingwatchingpeeing

That's really interesting. It may very well be that! And if I've ovulate later in the cycle (I'm thinking last weekend), then it may just be too soon for any positive results. I did do another test this morning - negative! But as my husband would agree, I'm the world's most impatient person and therefore I'll do a test everyday until AF rocks up! (so i completly understand your need to test before your AF is due!!!)

I nearly bought an early detection one earlier, but they were so expensive!

I also have a DD, so this too would be our #2. Do you have any symptoms today?

Lauren441 · 27/06/2022 12:13

Huge congratulations on your BFP! I completely understand how much anxiety you must be feeling - and I imagine following a chemical that's completely normal. But hang in there; the statistics for a good sticky bean this time around is on your side. 🤞🏼

(sorry I'm new to this and I have no idea how to quote people's names! Not sure if it's because I'm using the app or what)

WaitingWatchingPeeing · 27/06/2022 11:59

@Lauren441 interestingly I was getting low positive OPKs but they wernt getting darker and someone told me it was the chemical causing them. I kept testing and they dropped to nothing and then I got a normal OPK spike & peak…. I wonder if you’ve ovulated since you stopped testing and that’s why no AF??

I have one DD already so hoping for number 2 🤞🏼Iv actually been really good and don’t have any tests in the house and the wait hasn’t been to bad but today it’s awful. I had wanted to wait until after AF due to test but I can tell there is no chance that il last

I didn’t use Asprin either as I read a few conflicting things about it so decided not to mess around without gps advice.

@Maya12345 Cobgratulations!!!!! that is so so so good to hear a positive story and sending you so much luck for a sticky bean. I can only imagine the anxiety, how often are you testing?

Maya12345 · 26/06/2022 21:41

Hi! I know the feeling, the first cycle after my mc felt like it went on forever and was all over the place (AF ended up being 1 week late) then caught my super early ovulation on the clear blue opk super early this month...
I had my bfp last week at 9dpo!
So, 1 period in between mc and bfp. Still very anxious but trying to be positive! Fingers crossed for you all xx

Lauren441 · 26/06/2022 20:36

Also, no to the aspirin.

But taking plenty of greens, vitamins and folic acid so 🤞🏼

OP posts:
Lauren441 · 26/06/2022 20:35

Fingers crossed for you! 🤞🏼 How are you feeling with another week's wait? Im so inpatient. I test every morning nearly 🤦🏻‍♀️ but mainly because I have no idea where I am in the cycle now. And I tried using OPKs (for the first time) but I never had a line as bright as the test line. They definitely got darker. But then went light again. It was as if I missed the peak? We were still DTD regularly regardless so if I ovulated there's definitely a chance. But I dont know!

I'll be honest, after the line started getting fainter and it never actually peaked I threw it in the bin and didn't carry on using the OPKs. (super inpatient!)

So time will tell! Got my fingers crossed for you. 🤞🏼 Do you already have any children?

WaitingWatchingPeeing · 26/06/2022 19:29

Hi @Lauren441

that sounds like mental torture, I’m keeping everything crossed for you that it turns out to be something! Are you holding up ok with the not knowing?

We tried again using the chemical as my period and I ovulated 7days ago so I have another week to wait 🥴

Did you decided to take the Asprin?

xx

Lauren441 · 26/06/2022 19:08

Hi all. Just wanted to check in and see how everyone was doing this month?

Any BFPs yet?

So we started trying immediately after the said MC. I put the date of the MC into my calculator (as if it were my usual period). It predicted that my AF would have been due 4 days ago. But nothing yet. I'm having all BFNs, but i suspect that my cycle is all over the place and I did read that it can take anything from 4-8 weeks after a MC to get your regular AFs back. I am also having pulling like pains in my lower pelvis and uterus however, Im not reading too much into this as I'm certain right now my body will still be undergoing lots of readjustedments after the MC so 😭🤦🏻‍♀️ confusion all around here.

Anyway, talk to me! What's your stories this month?

Sending lots of baby dust love!

Not the same scenario but I wanted to touch on the aspirin.
I was prescribed 150mg of dispersible aspirin to take nightly due to my placenta not being as efficient as one would like during my pregnancy, due to low hormone levels (ultimately my baby had t13 however we didn’t know this at the time) x

Lauren441 · 01/06/2022 19:11

Thank you all for your replies.

So reassuring to read so many simular stoires. I spoke to the GP regarding aspirin and he said he would look into the reasearch behind it but as he has never actually heard of it before that I should continue to try and if we get a second MC then perhaps he will look further into tests/aspirin etc.

I've taken all your advice and decided that we will try again straight away. I do feel emotionally ready even though I know I will worry and panic about every single feeling when we catch. Even if I waited a few months I think following a MC that's probably normal.

Hang in there everyone! ☺️ Xxxx

@WaitingWatchingPeeing apparently could be low progesterone, an underlying issue like a thyroid problem, age/ crappy eggs, or just really bad luck! To be honest it does at least feel better to know I can get pregnant (we were trying for a while before these) so surely it’s just a matter of time / something that can be fixed.

@Maya12345 sorry to hear you’re here to but good luck for this cycle, keep us updated!

WaitingWatchingPeeing · 31/05/2022 20:08

@Maya12345 sorry to hear your also in the club but fingers crossed 🤞🏼 for that to be IB and you can give us all hope!

Maya12345 · 31/05/2022 17:34

Hi just wanted to jump on and say I'm going through literally same thing. Last month had an early mc at 4weeks6days (found out super early I was pregnant) and started trying again this month, despite docs saying to wait for a period in between. Didn't see the point! Currently spotting a bit and hoping it could be IB!
Sending you lots of good luck!

WaitingWatchingPeeing · 31/05/2022 16:17

Oh sorry @Charl881 im on my phone and thought the 2 posts where from one 🙈

im so sorry you’ve had 2, I bet the feeling of it happening a second time is awful 😞 I will test after I stop bleeding and hopefully draw a line under it all.

I really hope this is your month and hopefully you won’t need any answers from the bloods but good to have them looking into it just incase, do you have any idea what can cause increased likelihood of a chemical?

Charl881 · 31/05/2022 16:11

@WaitingWatchingPeeing thank you but I think you meant @Indianna2006! I’ve had two chemicals but on both times I had bleeding before the line disappeared

WaitingWatchingPeeing · 31/05/2022 14:05

Oh @Charl881 this sound so tough, I can just imagine how sad that would make you feel. It’s almost worse when they are faiding but not a definite NO isn’t it as you cling onto some hope your mistaken 😔

sending so much good luck and baby dust, thanks for the Asprin amounts, I will try this also I think!

Charl881 · 31/05/2022 13:57

@Lauren441 sorry I meant to add, I’m going to try aspirin this cycle as well. 150mg taken at night from 1dpo. I’ll let you know how I get on with it!
