Im VERY new to this so.. We are on our first month of TTC and I've done a few tests. All of them have been stark white with no hint of anything else showing, so I had given up... but then I did some (a lot) of thread stalking on here and realised I was probably wayyyy too early testing! I'm 10 DPO (we used clear blue ovulation tests and DTD twice a day every day of my fertile window - can tell it was our first crack at it 🤣) and I just did a test and got this instantly... I feel like I can see a line but am I just being over excited?

@Drf I may try the lube you recommended! We have conceive plus at the moment but hardly ever use it. I seem to get a fair bit of fertile CM for the full 5 days so it's not always necessary but I agree no harm if everyone understands the assignment 🤣🤣 I'm defo going to tell OH we are doing the SMEP next month.

@Angie2018 I'm 31 and my partner is 33! You're still young, and the man's age isn't so much of an issue as the woman's so you'll be grand!! Definitely get some of the lube, I mean inserting it and squirting it up there isn't the most romantic mood setter, but so long as everyone understands the assignment it's fine!

@Angie2018 sorry I just reread your message a d it sounds like that's exactly what you have been doing! I also used the clear blue pregnancy lube. It's not cheap but it obviously worked! Might be worth a try?

Fingers crossed everything goes OK and it sticks in there for the next few months over the danger period!

@Angie2018 we did the SMEP this month, so cycle day 9 we started - DTD every second day until I got a smiley on my opks, then did it for 3 consecutive days. I'm convinced it was the sex before my fertile window that got me pregnant! So I'd say next month give smep a go if you haven't already. Or just completely ditch all of the sticks and what not and go every second day from the day after your period ends to your almost die your af! Got to be worth a try!🤞🤞 keep us posted!

Massive congratulations!! Wonderful news for you! I have been trying for 5 cycles now and no luck & I keep reading different stories on how much sex to have 😄 I read your earlier comments from last month and said you DTD twice a day over your fertile period! Did you do that this time too? I DTD everyday over my fertile period the first month then every other day since then and no luck 😢

It is exciting - when we were ttc I got a bulk load of those little dip stick ones off eBay really cheap and when we got a positive I double checked with one of those digital ' pregnant/not pregnant' ones. Best of luck to you for next month x

Those were cheapest from a supermarket, never again!
I've decided going forward I won't be so hasty to test, it was the first month and I was a bit excited by it all... but by reading every single conception thread on mumsnet I've learned a lot, and we will do lots of things differently this month. From now on in I'm gonna chill out a bit and only test if my period is late... can't afford to keep peeing my money away 🤪🤣

Awww congratulations, that's so lovely 🥰🥰 its strange how the tests can be so off! well AF is due tomorrow, although this is the first month I've tracked ovulation so it could be a few days off, but if I haven't started by this time next week I'll test again! Thanks for your responses everyone, if by some miracle there's something going on in there I'll update 😁

There's still a chance until your period shows up! 🤞I had a very faint positive on 28th December (day my period was due) followed by 2 days of negatives so I stopped testing and presumed it wasn't my month. My period still hadn't arrived by 3rd Jan so I tested again and it was positive! I'm now 22 weeks with a little boy 💙 will be keeping everything crossed for you x
