@MrsGrealish it's INSANE. If you end up TTC for a year you wouldn't be able to afford a baby at the end of it.

MrsGrealish · 22/04/2022 10:12

@Presently14 thanks for the heads up. The price alone for the sticks was putting me off xx

Hi girls,

Popping over to say hello in this new thread and also thanks for setting it up! Crossing fingers for some lush BFPs this month 🤞🤞 or next 🤞🤞

I just posted over on the old TTC April thread about Mira, for those asking; I found it a complete waste of time and money. Really temperamental, hella expensive, slow, faulty, lots of error messages, progesterone sticks don't work, useless customer service team. I used it one month then gave up and got the CB monitor which I liked and used for a couple of months but now we're just DTD every other day after advice from a couple of docs and doc friends. Working much better to keep things relaxed and enjoyable and non-pressurised - OPK sticks make me so focused on the process I feel like I'm losing my mind. But I guess if your cycle isn't regular they're important, in which case I'd opt for the CB monitor. Seemed accurate and easy to use to me.

Anyway! I'm on 10/11DPO today and no symptoms at all apart from still no sore boobs which is unusual. Not going to test until AF is at least a few days late, so Thursday I think, if I make it that far. Due Sunday. Tests just make me miserable more than once which is no good for my brain.

Also yeah MN was being crazy over the past couple of days. Couldn't post, had to delete the app and sign in again and lost track of all the threads I'm on 🤪 so starting afresh!

Congrats finally getting your peak @RMS0209! Woooo!

alwaysseeingstars · 22/04/2022 09:29

@MrsUSAinUK ooh that sounds promising!! Keeping fingers crossed for you 😊I don't feel any different really, last month when i had the CP I had an inkling at around 6dpo onwards as I went right off coffee which I usually drink a lot of! And a few other little symptoms. Nothing as yet but still v early. Love that phrase of 'bringing the good BD' 😆

MrsUSAinUK · 22/04/2022 09:19

@alwaysseeingstars ah, awesome we're at the same point! feeling super impatient and especially since i think this might be the month. my body is just behaving ways it usually doesn't right now - twinges, cramps, zero CM since ovulation, all really unusual for me. fingers crossed so hard for both of us (and all of us!!!)

@Kitchiekobo i totally can understand this from my DH perspective. whenever he sees me "doing" something for TTC (apps, OPK, staying in bed after BD) I can tell he feels guilty, in a sense, that I'm in the position to do all the stuff and he can't help other than bringing the good BD. if it were my DH saying what yours is, i would think of that as a sweet gesture to try and relieve the pressure/stress/effort on me (though one that would probably frustrate me, too :) )

alwaysseeingstars · 22/04/2022 08:16

@MrsUSAinUK how you doing? I'm 4 or 5 DPO, not sure which but assuming 4 as that makes sense with the pains I had. Very impatient! Hope you had a nice holiday!
@pocketbunny so sorry about the BFN 😥YES to us all getting BFP's in May though!!
@Kitchiekobo sorry you're not feeling it currently, doesn't neccessarily mean anything! I don't agree with the other poster that feelings are irrelevant, but it is important to try not to pin too much hope in them just for the MH! They can mean something but can just be the rush of hormones we get.. so difficult to say! Also echo what @MrsGrealish said, I do think your OH is just trying to look after you 😘I don't tell my DH anything about timings for that reason. Thank F for mumsnet and you lot!!
@Justkeepswimming20 so sorry about the MMC 😥

pocketbunny · 22/04/2022 08:16

@Kitchiekobo Maybe chat with your OH about how to undertake this journey in a way that suits you both?

I'm thinking I will track with OPK's one more month and then stop after that. Increase our BD and not test until a missed period. Just getting ourselves prepared for a longer journey than we imagined...

Justkeepswimming20 · 22/04/2022 06:47

Hi all..i had smm for a mmc in Jan 2022..just on my 3rd period but hasn't been as heavy as the other 2 in Feb and March..ttc #2 asap as turning 36..has any1 had luck conceiving even with slightly heavy periods? i used opks properly last month and got a peak..due for a day 21 blood test next month. TY

MrsUSAinUK · 21/04/2022 23:27

hey all, checking in. thanks @RMS0209 for making the new thread!! hope the cinema was great and the BD better :)

impatiently going thru the TWW - 5DPO right now, trying to hold out til 10DPO to test. if i don't break our BFN streak soon, I might be reaching out to you all about ovusense/mira/etc. i have the ava bracelet but find myself not wearing it frequently because i crash in bed and forget.

anyone else in the TWW right now?! i feel like i missed a ton while we were away on holiday

MrsGrealish · 21/04/2022 23:25

@Kitchiekobo he's probably just thinking of you because if you're anything like me I'm telling my DH far too many details for his man brain to understand. Then when AF arrives I announce it to him and he's all oh no u ok? So he's likely thinking in his mind take the pressure off you and enjoy summer. I try not to do that now because I can tell it freaks him out. I rant on this forum when I need to ask questions or talk to someone who's going through exactly the same thing xx

RMS0209 · 21/04/2022 22:55

@MO22 hi! Yeah I use the east @ home opks from Amazon... @MrsGrealish is right

@pocketbunny sorry to hear about BFN Bear x

Afternoon all!

Feeling a little disheartened, was all very symptomatic and then today - NOTHING.
Only thing I can report is lots of milky discharge. Nipples are significantly less sore and I’ve just lost that ‘feeling’.
I was part of another thread and one of the girls (I think unintentionally) kind of shot me down telling me that symptoms don’t really mean anything until you get a BFP. I also worked out today that I’m actually 9DPO and not 10DPO which I originally thought.
Trying to remain optimistic.
and my (very lovely) partner has just said well if it doesn’t happen this month, maybe we should just have the summer off so I can enjoy myself and revisit this TTC later in the year. I think it’s the thought of me temping etc that’s freaking him out.
I understand that we’re young etc but we’re in a really good place & we previously said we both felt that now would be a good time.

i don’t know if he’s just said it so that it takes the pressure off of me, but it’s a bit urgh.
He said ‘maybe we should just use condoms and then see where we’re at in a few months’. I said that I know what will happen and we won’t use them and I’ll be back to ferociously symptom spotting anyway…

ahh. Sorry for the rant but I feel like you’d all understand x

MrsGrealish · 21/04/2022 21:18

@MO22 they look like the easy@home ones but double check with @RMS0209 xx

@pocketbunny sorry about the bfn 😕 CD5 for me ugh

MO22 · 21/04/2022 21:13

@pocketbunny I'm with you, we MUST start getting some BFPs for May!

pocketbunny · 21/04/2022 21:03

I meant BFPs in May. Jeepers this sickness is taking it out of me!!

pocketbunny · 21/04/2022 21:01

Got my BFN today! In all fairness we did only DTD 3x but tried to be strategic about it hahaha... Need to take a lesson from @RMS0209 and up our quota for May!!!

Someone has to have a BFP surely!! Unless we all going to get BFNs in May ;)

MO22 · 21/04/2022 20:15

@RMS0209 sorry I'm sure asked you this, but what cheap OPKs are you using now?

Hjudge56 · 21/04/2022 17:03

Do you guys know how long implantation typically occurs for? I know it happens 6-12 DPO but how long does the process actually last?

MrsGrealish · 21/04/2022 16:50

@alwaysseeingstars 😂😂

alwaysseeingstars · 21/04/2022 16:33

@MrsGrealish nature and ouzo 😉

MrsGrealish · 21/04/2022 16:23

@alwaysseeingstars leaning towards ovusense but in all honesty I can't be bothered this month😂
May just let nature take its course

alwaysseeingstars · 21/04/2022 14:19

@RMS0209 never apologise, this is what we're here for! (plus I can't talk, I was on here every day moaning about the flashing smiles until CD22 hahaha!!)
the sunshine definitely helps, sounds good about the cinema! Go you with the dancing, you'll both have earnt a good rest! But hopefully it's great fun and always makes you feel closer to the OH which always helps 😊
I'm good thanks, feeling happy and calm today.. other than needing to go to the loo every hour! If I were a few more days along rather than 3 or 4 I would be massively overthinking it 😂x

RMS0209 · 21/04/2022 14:08

Hi ladies! sorry... my phone is having none of mumsnet, on the laptop again!

@MO22 yeah my progesterone test is with the NHS ( I have been pestering my doctor so I think he will just enjoy the break really lol) the Ovusense is meant to confirm it though, but because I had a bad night sleep one night I think it thought that was Ovulation but now its clear and doesn't say anything. I would try Ovu for one month then you have temp to go to the doctor with atleast for back up?

@alwaysseeingstars @MO22 laughing at the both of you's box deliveries ha ha- glad it has arrived though Mo, I can try help as much as I can.. i'm still learning. but you'll see what i mean about it feeling smooth!

Hi! @Nyxxie sorry the tag didnt work grr

@alwaysseeingstars positive polly is back! woo hoo, sorry for being a moany face the last few days - just glad I am finally getting a peak, thought I was broken! feeling nice today - sun shining definitely helps.. off to cinema after work then home for some more dancing. how you doing? x
