Hi everyone such nice wishes. Nothing new here. Trying not to get stressed about induction and learn a new level of patience that quite frankly I don't have

Good luck with the dog stuff 3cats. Our place is too cramped for pets but dh would love cats if we could, he's a big softie for them.

I hope you've all been enjoying the nice weather does it make you think of holiday Ready?

3catstoo · 29/07/2008 18:19

I wish I could but he earns and I don't so he has to fork out the £700 for the dog.

I did get cat number 3 that way though. He came home from work one day (I was on holiday) and found tht we had 3 cats instead of 2. He still hasn't forgiven me 11 yrs on .

How are you?

Ready · 29/07/2008 17:22

3cats, just get the dog and tell him it's tough.
Dh won't ever let us have a pet, so I understand your frustration.

Ready · 28/07/2008 20:46

No time for a proper catch up... I will do that soon.

Any news from City?

3cats - did you get a dog? Hope you are well.

MrsMc, we are renting back in our home town, which is good fun at the moment, no responsibilities, and money in the bank.

Seaside, thank you for thinking of me - I think of you lots too

Sorry if I have missed anyone... I'm used to just worrying about 3cats and City on this thread

OP posts:
3catstoo · 28/07/2008 17:36

Sounds like you are having a fab time City .

I agree with Seaside, just busy yourself and the time will go quicker.

All the best.

MrsMcJnr · 26/07/2008 01:00

3cats ? glad you like the book that is great news that your DH is committed to the cause now, I know how hard it was for you before I so hope it happens soon, you have been so patient. We are all fine DS is a total joy and DH and I are besotted with him. We rowed a lot when we got here but as we settle in, we are arguing less. Nothing serious anyway

City hon, the night before DS was born I was in tears because I was so scared I?d be induced, I had an appointment the next day to discuss it! DS was born at 40+9, try not to worry, stress doesn?t help the oxytocin and most babies do turn up before they need to be induced and the NCT say that anytime between 38 and 42 weeks is term anyway. I think the sweep I had did work and it wasn?t painful either. Fingers crossed your baby arrives soon!

LOL Seaside ? you are taking me back to January with those memories

cityangel · 25/07/2008 23:30

thanks for all the reassurance and hints and tips

Went for a 4 mile walk, had a lamb vindaloo, bounced on the birthing ball and am now practicing visualisation feel much better about it all

seaside72 · 25/07/2008 21:18

Oh and the other thing city- and you will think I am mad I know with all my hippie/alternative therapy rantings - but try and do some visualisations in the bath - take 3 deep breaths really thinking about the in and out breath, then visualise your baby making its way down in your pelvis and also imagine your muscles relaxing and cervix softening and opening - I know I know - mad - but I SWEAR it worked for me - I did this every night in the bath for the last month. I also visualised a 7lb baby with a small head and Cassius was 6lbs 14 and 3/4 oz with a small head!!!!
OK - I am going now - sorry for my rambling!
xxxxx

seaside72 · 25/07/2008 21:13

3cats - such great news about DH being on board - you are so young! I am already 35 and only on lo #1 and DH is 40 in a few weeks !

All is well with us - Cassius is 6 months now - I cannot believe it. I have just started work again (well I work from home for myself and never stopped doing that really! but now I am 'out' working, about 1 day a week for a friend too.

re dogs - we have a border terrier and used to have a jack russell - terriers are brilliant, but mad - and prob not very cat compatible! Don't know much about cav king charles. My best advice is find a good breeder - ideally one that is not too big and breeds from home not a massive kennel - and always meet the 'parents' of the pups as this will show you what kind of temprement they may have. I think it is great to bring kids up around dogs and cats as it teaches them respect and I love to see the relatinships they form. I am sure a doggie will become a new friend for your kids too

City - hang in there - don't get too stressed thinking about sweep and induction - have lots of nice baths and try and relax (hard I know) but I am sure baby gets stubborn if it knows you are anxious!!! Make lots of plans for the next week, lunches, shopping, manicure/pedicure etc try and double bluff bub out by being so busy!! I bought some clary sage oil but never got to use it - I think you are supposed to put it in the bath - cant remember??! Are you taking your arnica yet - would def recommend that too I will think birthing thoughts for you all weekend!

3catstoo · 25/07/2008 17:34

Oh City. So sorry you're still waiting.

As much as it's nice to have things go to plan, just think about the end result to stay positive.

A sweep is not too bad actually. A smear is much worse so don't worry.

Induction too is not all that bad. People only tell you the bad sides of induction but I can vouch for it being fine. 2 inductions at 40+13 went really well. No overnight stays involved. Very quick and easy.

I recommend a birthing ball (or one of those balls you see in the gym). Straddle it and rock from side to side - it really helps to get the baby down during labour.

Enough advice. Thinking of you hon.

cityangel · 25/07/2008 17:02

Hi guys, yes not doing too badly but ended up in tears with dh after the MW appointment because a week today is sweep territory and then 40+13 is induction which would result in our entire birth plan going in the bin.

Trying to stay positive but the little one seems too cosy in there and I've had enough I should be really grateful we've got this far its just a tough day...

Going on a long walk now with a curry at the end.. hopefully that will cheer dh up who now looks very worried and has a cracking headache.

I hope you're all looking forward to the weekend!

3catstoo · 25/07/2008 15:06

No news yet then??

Hi MrsMc - so nice to hear from you. I always think of you when I pick up the Zita West book. Looked at it again this week, thinking what can I try now!? Month 25 of ttc now. DH is totally committed to it now which really takes a lot of stress away. We have decided to give it another 18 months of trying, making me 35 and him 40.

How is your little one doing? And you and MrMc?

Hi seaside, thanks for the advice about the dog. That is what I was thinking. I thought that maybe it would take my mind of the baby thing and then it might happen (I can dream). What sort of dog do you have?
I was looking at a Cav King Charles, mainly because they are small and good with children and cats. My cats are very placid and have had to put up with the introduction of 3 children in their 13 years so I'm sure a dog will fit in nicely.
How are things with you?

Ready, what are you upto?

City, fingers crossed that you don't have to wait too long. Enjoy the nice weather.

Big Hugs to you all.
xxxxxx

seaside72 · 25/07/2008 12:05

city - how are you? we are all desperately waiting for news on grads thread (I know - annoying isn't it!! I remember all the people calling me during that last week! - I was all blase saying he will be late and Cassius came bang on his due date!!) anyway hope you are OK and maybe holding your baba already

Ready - how are you flower - thinking about you lots as always xxx

3 cats - how are you hon - I would definitely recommend getting a dog - they are fab and as close to a baby as you can get for sure!! A dog will love you unconditionally and that is a wonderful feeling.

MrsMc will catch up on the grads thread but lovely to see you back xxxx

cityangel · 23/07/2008 23:33

thanks MrsMC have tried all of the above today so fingers crossed Its pretty hot here too actually so not complaining nice weather to be pottering about!

MrsMcJnr · 23/07/2008 17:45

Cityangel - yes, it is really hot but luckily DS is taking it all in his stride wearing nothing but nappies really! Happy due date I never got fed up of being pregnant really, just eager to meet my baby! he was 9 days late in the end after many walks, lots of pineapples and sex and pots and pots of raspberry leaf tea!!

cityangel · 23/07/2008 00:27

Hi MrsMC boy its hot in Spain at the moment you must be roasting. How is it out there. I hope you're all happy :0)

3catstoo · 16/07/2008 16:10

8 days ! Where's the time gone.
Keep us posted City and all the best.
My 3 were all late (as was I).

CD1 here. Had a horrid sick bug too.

Sorry you are in the same boat Ready. Lets hope the summer brings us more luck.

I'm trying to convince DH to get a dog now. I'm sure I'm not going to get baby number 4 so I want a dog to keep me company whilst the dcs are at school. Mad I know.

cityangel · 15/07/2008 23:55

Ready · 15/07/2008 19:22

Hi guys I have finally finished work after working late every night last week to get out of there... 6 months off lots of hard other work to come I expect technically 10 days to go but I am late for most things so who knows

I really hope you are both enjoying the sun and chilling out. Fingers crossed for things working out. I can't sew for but I might try and teach myself how to cook first as I really can't do that very well either!
Catch you soon.
