@Dreamingof3 I don't dare risk anything as we've previously had a history of getting pregnant easily so I always make DH use a condom since coming off the pill. Looking forward to not having to worry about that again soon (hopefully forever as DH will be getting booked in for the snip as soon as baby #3 arrives!)

I barely get any EWCM. Had small amount yesterday morning CD9 but watery again today, OPKs still low but my LH surges and dips again within a day so expecting it to surge tomorrow on CD11.
How dark were yours on Friday Dreaming?

@Nyxxie I'm not sure what can be done to lengthen luteal phase but I know that 9 days isn't un-doable 🤞🤞

@WingingIt09 we have a whole unopened box 🤣 generally just using knowing my ovulation dates to keep us 'safe' but tbh we don't get the chance much, will have to change that next month

Also...Still no positive opks...they did get a bit darker Friday night so wondering if I missed the peak overnight? As this morning I had EWCM 🤷‍♀️

WingingIt09 · 24/04/2022 18:23

@LemonZestDribbles haha definitely want to avoid pregnancy this cycle. I'd be due 12-14 days before the date we want to avoid (depending on the due date calculator you use) and given I've been induced with both my girls and DD2 was born at 42 weeks exactly id probably end up going in for induction and baby arriving on the exact date I don't want. Also I'd find out I was pregnant before Disneyland trip and I want to go on the rides! DH has ordered some off Amazon apparently and they'll arrive tomorrow. We probably won't use them now but good to have some just in case 😅

@Nyxxie are you getting your period at 10dpo? I'd keep taking the vitamins and maybe add agnus castus. Mine was 8/9 days when I was trying to get pregnant with ds. There were others in my ttc group too. I conceived on cycle 7 and the others not too many cycles after. So don't lose hope ❤

@WingingIt09 you definitely going to avoid the Jan baby? It will be sods law if he doesn't buy them and you want to 😬

@SarahShorty hope you're okay. Ttc takes so much out of you. Especially when it takes so much luck. Don't be hard on yourself and I think it's very normal to be happy for pregnant people but also annoyed

I think setting a date with partners and then just not talking about it again (or much) is a great plan

FourOclock · 24/04/2022 17:33

@Nyxxie that's so frustrating! Are you charting ovulation at all? Could you be ovulating early in your cycle?

Nyxxie · 24/04/2022 14:54

CD10 and AF is here, so another 9 day luteal phase for me 😔 The vitamin b6 obviously had no effect, don't know whether to keep taking it and add vitamin C or maybe I should try this agnus castus stuff? Or all of the above 🤷🏻‍♀️

It's getting me down now as I don't see how I can get pregnant if I'm bleeding before implantation has a chance to take place 😩

SarahShorty · 24/04/2022 14:12

Thanks @WingingIt09 🙂 I'm on CD7 today so another week or so and then the fun can start for the 3rd time. I'm still scared of my age being a factor in my fertility, my DH keeps telling me I'm not that old. I feel down recently because of that and seeing other people with full blown baby bumps it just irks me somewhat, though I am eternally happy for them. I'm trying to stay positive and hopeful, though not too hopeful as the last two tries ended in tears.

My best wishes to everyone else trying and testing! ☺️

Nypie · 24/04/2022 14:01

Aw you lot have cheered me up honestly thanks so much! I'm glad it's not just my silly man. Now hes talking about measuring my finger for a ring I think he doesn't get that I just need a moment to process and get that trust back that he means what he's saying. On the other hand he's been doing all the cleaning and I'm about to get a lot of gifts out of all of this so I'll enjoy 😂.
@LemonZestDribbles 😂😂😂 I would have definitely killed him "hormones" would be a good enough defence in my book.

@Cherrymarket I think I'll take a leaf out of your book we've set a date now and I'm gonna not invole him until it's his time to shine and even then I won't let him in on the process as he'll only get stressed. Thank god I have you lot!

And honestly who are all these youtube partners getting excited about positive test results I can gurantee my DPs reaction will be "....oh...shit" will definitely be taping it though!

Good luck to everyone trying and testing this week!

WingingIt09 · 24/04/2022 13:47

@Nypie I'm sorry he's made you feel that way. I think men definitely feel differently about it then we do. DH is very similar to @Dreamingof3 DP by the sound of it. He's happy enough to go for a third but has pretty much left the decision to me as he's not fussed either way. I have made him commit to saying he is on board though as I wasn't having him turn round at some time next year with the stress of 3 kids and blaming it all on me!

@LemonZestDribbles hopefully not as stressful a week as you're imagining and there will be some time to DTD.

I'm in my fertile week now and we used our last condom yesterday 😶 told DH he either needs to buy more or no DTD for another week as we'll be risking the Jan baby we want to avoid. You can guarantee if he buys some we won't actually DTD again but if he doesn't then we will want to and won't be able to 😂🙈

LemonZestDribbles · 24/04/2022 11:44

@Nypie I'm sorry he's taken the shine off it. I think it's pretty common for men - they don't have that internal clock ticking and wanting you to get on with it. My dh kept saying yes then changing his mind. I think he only actually agreed after he saw how much he was my breaking my heart every time he changed his mind. Lots of tears 😬 Then, when ds was born, he said we should have done it quicker. Nearly murdered him. It's just nerves and I don't think they realise how much it affects us. The second was a much easier sell.

Fw for me tomorrow. Not sure how this month will go. We've been getting work done all week on the house so been staying at my parents. Dh has had to be in control of cleaning our house (i usually do everything) and keeps complaining he's too tired to look after ds and ds doesn't want to go to bed as he has FOMO while at grandparents. Work on house finishes tomorrow and in laws are visiting Tuesday to Thursday (who are less fun than standing on a river of lego pieces). So between stress and dh being a giant aubergine I'm not sure how frisky we will be 🙃

Dreamingof3 · 24/04/2022 11:33

Oh god men can be do frustrating can't they. I wasn't sure I'd want a third at all...until my partner started talking about it. Then of course I became obsessed, saw babies everywhere, planned everything ttc related. And he's now like well it'd be nice but I'm not fussed either way 🤯
I think he doesn't want to be responsible for the decision. He's more than happy to have another but if I said no he'd be OK with that too

Cherrymarket · 24/04/2022 06:29

@Nypie i am glad the appointment went well, glad the dr was useful!
my DH was similar first time round. He didn’t want to think about it until we had sex and even then was as blasé as possible lol
me on the other hand, I think I needed a full year to prepare mentally. I took folic acid and cut caffeine. We just didn’t talk about it after we set a date to ttc.

even when I got my BFP, it was faint so he looked at it and went, let’s just wait and see. Glad I didn’t make a YouTube video of it 😂

Think men just have a separate head pocket for it all whereas it dominates my brain space!

rosecbrm · 24/04/2022 04:27

Just found the new thread so catching up with everything, hope everyone's doing ok!

My AF arrived yesterday (first once since stopping the pill last month!). I stopped taking the pill on the 27th March, had my withdrawal bleed on the 31st lasting 5 days.. wasn't expecting AF yet as I'd heard it takes a while after coming off the pill but my body decided to be different and come earlier than expected!

Not too worried as I guess my body will take a while to regulate! Must say the cramps are a lot worse than I remember before the pill!

My partner is still very keen to stop being careful around September time (after holidays etc.), he often 'jokes' should we just start now, talks about it a lot! I am excited too but do get cold feet sometimes, but I guess that's normal.

Fingers crossed for all those waiting to test soon x

Nypie · 23/04/2022 22:47

Thanks @WingingIt09 and @LemonZestDribbles appoinment went well buuut after it I spoke to DP and he definitely had cold feet about the process picked a fight instead of saying it out right. Were fine now and hes apologised and says he does want to try in September but obviously I dont feel the same excitement right now :(

TrillianMurphy · 23/04/2022 17:04

Hi @BluePoppies 👋 I'm also going to be TTC in October.
For health reasons, DH and I have to postpone TTC in July like we'd originally planned.

Hopefully all the rest of you ladies will have your BFPs by the time October comes. 🤞

Dreamingof3 · 22/04/2022 17:28

I think we'll probably wait until the first scan and use that to tell them. We gold family quite early last time but I think this time we want to leave it a while. Depends when I fall pregnant because I will need to tell them before my brothers wedding in September as we're going to Cyprus for it and will feel better with them knowing I think

WingingIt09 · 22/04/2022 16:48

@Dreamingof3 that's so frustrating. Hope you get peak soon!

@FourOclock that's so funny that he's telling everyone you're licking lemons! I won't be telling my DDs until I've had my dating scan. Any sooner and I'll know they'll blab. Although if I'm being sick like I was with the first two my eldest will definitely tell everyone and they'll all work it out 😂

OP posts:
LemonZestDribbles · 22/04/2022 16:40

@Cherrymarket next month is exciting. Glad dh is on board ❤

@WingingIt09 that's a really tough one on the rides. I'm not sure what you do there 🤔

@Dreamingof3 that is really frustrating. Each cycle must feel so long for you :(

@FourOclock love that your ds is telling everyone about your lemon licking 🤣

FourOclock · 22/04/2022 14:35

@Dreamingof3 I haven't really figured out when to tell them! My eldest was only just turned one when my youngest was born so we haven't done the telling kids thing before! I'm tempted to wait till after the 20 week scan but might just tell them soon to avoid someone else accidentally telling them

Dreamingof3 · 22/04/2022 13:54

@FourOclock 🤣🤣 were definitely not telling our two when the time comes or they'll blab it within about 0.2 seconds!

FourOclock · 22/04/2022 13:44

@WingingIt09 I have no idea around that one! Tricky!

My 3 year old was rubbing my tummy the other day and saying 'whats this?!' - DH muttered in the background 'its a good job she's pregnant mate or that question wouldn't be going down well' Grin (neither of the kids know yet, although DS has been telling anyone who will listen that mummy has been licking lemons to make her feel better... Doesn't really take a genius to guess!)

Dreamingof3 · 22/04/2022 12:52

@Cherrymarket my cycles used to be about 30 days so not too different really! At least it doesn't look like I'll be due on over my holiday which I was worried about before 😅

Cherrymarket · 22/04/2022 12:50

@Dreamingof3 that is so disappointing and frustrating :(

Dreamingof3 · 22/04/2022 12:46

I was hoping my cycle would shorten a bit this month. Last was 37 days, the kne before 50+ (that was after stopping the pill) but I'm cycle day 20 now and no positive opk so looking at at least 34 days and won't be in my fertile window on holiday like I hoped 😢

Dreamingof3 · 22/04/2022 12:44

@WingingIt09 no idea on that one...the antibiotics excuse wouldn't work 😅 can you claim a headache?

I've luckily got no real plans...just occasions where I'd be expected to drink 😂 but I'm confident I can fake that
