I can also recommend a disc to those less keen on cups due to the suction. They don't need to be so precisely fitted and you can have sex with them in too!

I use a saalt menstrual cup and modibodi pants as a back up. I have heard cheeky wipes have just bought out some period knickers so am going to try them too!

ive never got it stuck but am militant about breaking the seal before pulling 😆

@dearhummingbirds we're going for our first dtd unprotected tonight. I can already sense the fear of pressure off dh even though I've tried not to make a deal of it 🙈

I have really heavy periods esp off the pill and I tend to use period pants as a back up. I really like them. I did use a moon cup before but Ive previously got it stuck (twice) and I cannot deal so back to tampons and pads

@Nypie Sorry about OH dimming your excitement to TTC, men really don't seem to think before they open their mouths, do they?

I only had 4-5 days free of bleeding after taking the Norethisterone, it started again yesterday.

I'm not sure whether it's because I only took it for 2 days, but I just looked at my calendar, and that would have been the right day to start AF based on my OPKs. So I'm classing this as a new cycle, and moving on!

I really recommend The Period Lady for reusable period stuff, they have a lovely lady called Roisin who is amazing in her cup knowledge, there are so many and some fit better than others in different people, and she's really good at figuring out the right one.

Period pants I absolutely love Flux and Wuka

I've always wanted to try period pants or a cup tbh but worried that it just won't be enough. I might actually get some period pants to have as a back up for really heavy days

@dearhummingbirds this is what I was thinking, I wanted us to talk openly about it see how he was feeling how I'm feeling, it's a huge deal for me too. But my way was definitly too much for dp 😂😂.

@SarahShorty sorry you're having a hard time of it losses are so so hard but please don't let your age worry you too much, there are young people who struggle and older people who don't it is so personal. Fingers so tightly crossed for you, in the mean time take care of yourself.

Like a few you I might also be on my period on my hol so annoying but I've been using the cup for years now and though it is not for everyone I barely notice I'm on my period when I'm using it.

@Dreamingof3 I agree with Wingingit I always thought that was similar to the pill, not sure how much damage it could do in just a month but I personally wouldn't risk it. You could always try the all natural way of stressing yourself out before ovulation...always works for me 😂😂😂. All jokes aside there may be a few natural ways of delaying a period or helping it to be lighter I used to do the paracetamol one in my younger days

@Nypie Sorry to hear your DPs getting cold feet. :( I do think it’s a normal reaction - I do the same thing from time to time. I’m sure he’ll come around. Especially when he realises how much it means to you.

I just keep bringing it up now to my DP, and we do talk about kids more and more. Just feel like if I keep mentioning it it will be less scary in a few months time 😂

For those who are currently TTC, or are on their second / third, was it strange transitioning from being ultra careful when DTD to TTC? I think that’s what I’m going to find really weird.

@Nyxxie I'm the same with my luteal phase. Do you get spotting also before AF? I've started agnus castus this month and trying progesterone cream once I ovulate so hopefully that helps 🤞 just waiting to hopefully ovulate in the next 3-5 days as my ovulation is usually between CD16-18 and currently on CD13 but OPKs are still extremely faint. Sorry to hear about AF it's so disheartening isn't it how long have you been off contraception ?

@WingingIt09 you're right. I think I'll do another couple of days. Although if it's late I'll be super annoyed.

May even go to gp for something to delay my period...does anyone know what effect that has on the following cycle?!

I'm so anxious about mine being late. My periods are really heavy and so painful it would honestly just ruin the holiday. I don't know whether to give up with the opks now and assume I've missed it

@WingingIt09 my peak last time was cd24 and then after arrived cd 37 so even if this month goes the same I'd be due to finishe my period a day or 2 before we go away. So as long as it doesn't go longer I should be OK 🤞

Potentially I could've ovulate earlier and missed it

@WingingIt09 they weren't very dark...I'll attach a photo of the ones over Friday and Saturday. If I've missed it and ovulation is around now that puts me at a 36 day cycle this month.

We took 5 months before falling pregnant with our second...but caught on contraception with our first so not sure if I'm being careful enough 🤣 it would be sods law we'd fall first time if we tries this month though and I'd miss out on all my holiday cocktails 🤣🤣

@LemonZestDribbles Thank you 🙂 I'm okay. Just trying to keep busy. I cut my DH's hair this afternoon, that's always fun because we share banter and have something good on TV like The Grand Tour or something comedic like The Thin Blue Line. And this might make me sound weird, but I like playing with DH's hair after I've cut it, it's so soft and fuzzy 😄
