@Alice1608 I’m on the website, not the app. But if you press the down arrow at the top of the page there is an option to flip the thread.

dearhummingbirds · 27/04/2022 16:06

Congratulations @PinkButtercups !

@lj2022 I work for a local
authority, too, so have the same breakdown as you. I have done some calculations, and it does worry me a little. I think we’re just going to save as much as we can. But hopefully we can survive off my DPs wage, too.

It’s the childcare costs that I’m
worried about when I go back to
work, as we have no relatives nearby.

Alice1608 · 27/04/2022 15:55

@hevann
Thank you but I only seem to have the up button when scrolling down. Nothing to help me speed to the most recent comment lol annoyingly xx

HeathenPlayingHouse · 27/04/2022 15:46

Thanks @Brightonbelle87!
And congratulations @PinkButtercups!

Finally got through to one of the gynae secretaries- of course my GP referred me as Routine only, I knew she would. But it looks like the wait is around 6 months, which is much better than a year!

I also asked for my file to be marked as happy to accept any cancellation appointments. I don't care if it's short notice, I just want it sorted.

On day 3 of Norethisterone now, but still bleeding. Keeping my hopes up I'll get a break at some point.

hevann · 27/04/2022 15:38

@Alice1608 Welcome to the group! In the top right hand corner there should be two arrows one up one down click on that & it should switch the list round 😀 x

@DanceWithYourBalloon I had to do the same! x

DanceWithYourBalloon · 27/04/2022 15:05

I can finally post again. Since the update I"ve had no bookmarks, not been able to post etc. Had to uninstall etc.

Anyway will try to catch up on the missed posts.

I'm currently 1DPO (As much as I can tell anyway).

@PinkButtercups congratulations 🎊 ❤️

@lj2022 with my last i got 2 months full pay and then statutory maternity. I didn't earn a huge amount so not a massive drop but enough to panic me! Once I took away my travel costs and childminder I found it sort of evened itself out and we cut back on a few things. You definitely find ways to manage. I haven't gone back to work because ghe cost of childcare just wasn't worth it but littlest starts preschool in September, so plan to job hunt now 🥲

Alice1608 · 27/04/2022 14:44

Also how do we get to the bottom and most recent post on here without scrolling each time? Lol xx

Alice1608 · 27/04/2022 14:39

Please may I join?
We have decided that to be one step ahead of the game due to me being 35 now and having an implant to remove and then get my fertility back..worried that I may struggle falling pregnant now. So trying to be one step ahead!
So removing my implant soon and then will just see how things goes without anything, so there is no pressure..
Although I'm already stressing about childcare etc and maternity pay! My work only pay statutory 😔😔 xx

PinkButtercups · 27/04/2022 14:27

Thank you all.

This was cycle 3 and we DTD as much! Crazy isn't it.

I had GD with my DS so if I have GD again induction would be Christmas week. I don't feel pregnant. I didn't with DS but I feel more on edge how odd!

FourOclock · 27/04/2022 14:22

@PinkButtercups congratulations!! 😊

@lj2022 oh that sounds good childcare wise, at least it will just be short term pain with loss of income then - I honestly don't know how people do it by taking SMP and then going back and paying for full time childcare! But then I've never been a high earner Grin

lj2022 · 27/04/2022 14:21

@PinkButtercups congratulations wishing you a happy healthy pregnancy

All these BFP that are appearing are giving me that boost to keep going and trying

Amber17 · 27/04/2022 14:02

Congrats @Brightonbelle87 and @PinkButtercups!!

I’m CD9 so think I’m just entering fertile window. This is going to be our first cycle trying but I’m suddenly really nervous about it! All the cold feet. This is normal, right?

hevann · 27/04/2022 13:09

@PinkButtercups Congratulations! 🥳 xx

dollface22 · 27/04/2022 13:09

Hi can I join please? Last autumn I was part of another TTC group bit sadly had a miscarriages at 6 weeks ! But now I'm ready to start again and haven't long come off contraception!

I'm 35 in a month
Have 1ds (.first pregnancy)
trying for baby #2 in 2022 💐
Wishing everyone good luck & health on their journey xx

PinkButtercups · 27/04/2022 13:05

Picture not attaching and it wasn't letting me post the other day either.

PinkButtercups · 27/04/2022 13:04

Hello. Took some time away.

Felt a bit nauseous a couple of nights a couple weeks ago.
Tested negative then but sure I could see a faint line.

Tester on Sunday and got my BFP.
According to my app I'm due around 3rd January 🥰🥰.

lj2022 · 27/04/2022 13:00

@WingingIt09 they do pay 90% for 6 weeks and 50% for 12 weeks so I think I would manage for that but it's the statutory that's awful. Time to hammer into the overtime and get saving to be able to take as long as possible off when the time comes. Thank goodness for being able to use Annual Leave too

Think I was just having a panic moment when I realised but it's good to hear of people managing I'm sure once we work it all out it would be fine

WingingIt09 · 27/04/2022 12:57

@tryingtryinggone sorry AF arrived :(

@anibendod that sounds promising. Fingers crossed

@lj2022 so is your scheme statutory maternity pay only or do they offer some occupational maternity pay as well. I get some occupational maternity pay with my job. It's something like 8 weeks full pay, 18 weeks half + statutory maternity pay, statutory maternity pay only for 7 weeks and then no pay for the last 19 weeks. It's tough to manage, I have taken the full year off the last 2 times and we have used our savings to cover the loss in income.

LemonZestDribbles · 27/04/2022 12:45

@Dreamingof3 🤣🤣 love that level if dedication

@lj2022 like @FourOclock I was self employed so got maternity allowance. It was low but it was something. It really is rubbish though. We saved and could live on dh wage luckily. That sounds good on condensing work when you go back though

lj2022 · 27/04/2022 12:37

@FourOclock Thankyou I'm trying not to stress I'm sure we will make it work but it's just so bad. Childcare wise I know we will be okay as my mum works set days part time and my work could also condense my hours to 4 days meaning I'd probably only need 1 day childcare at most depending on how my dads health is as he can't work anymore but could do a few hours childcare too. The support for hard working people really is shocking.

FourOclock · 27/04/2022 12:34

@lj2022 I don't have any advice unfortunately as I only qualified for maternity allowance with DC1 (was self employed) and it was shockingly low. Thankfully we are okay on just one wage though as our outgoings are low. Just wondering if you have looked at childcare costs as well? Not to be doom and gloom but it is so expensive to get back to work too so might be worth looking at in advance.

Dreamingof3 · 27/04/2022 12:13

@LemonZestDribbles were not trying this month so it isn't too much of an issue I just like to obsess 🤣

LemonZestDribbles · 27/04/2022 12:09

@Cherrymarket that makes total sense! Annoyingly I forgot but put it beside my bed now. Think I've forgotten all this ttc malarkey 🙃

@WingingIt09 that would be so good if AF only appeared at the end of your holiday 🤞

@Dreamingof3 that's ashame on missing your peak - did you still dtd plenty?

@Summerbreeze111 I'd buy a few tests. I find if I don't have tests in the house I obsess but if I do have one in the house I try to avoid using it unless I really think it might be positive. It's the pee game 🤣

@tryingtryinggone here's to this cycle 🤞

@anibendod oooh that is tempting and promising symptoms. Are you going to?

DH told me last night that he had a really vivid dream that we had a daughter and he was doing a father of the bride speech at her wedding. He's now beyond keen to get pregnant and I'm feeling the pressure to provide a good egg and oven 😬😬 opks still faint atm

lj2022 · 27/04/2022 12:06

For anyone already with children. Just looking for some advice on SMP I thought as I worked for a local authority that they would have a good maternity pay scheme however this sadly isn't the case and has now really stressed me out. I earn a decent wage and so does my other half but not good enough where we feel we could rely on a single income. I find it horrendous how bad SMP is and just don't understand how people can survive on it and it making me question now if we can have a baby but then again I will be in this job for a long time so is there ever a right time. How did you all survive and manage on SMP?
