@Amber17 oh no hope you can find some nice things to do to pass the time! I'm trying to remind myself the first 7 days are not symptoms so not to get caught up in symptom spotting for at least 7/8 days hopefully that first week will pass quickly. My ovulation was today I think so 🤞 hopefully these two weeks pass quickly for us

Dreamingof3 · 30/04/2022 21:16

@WingingIt09 that's fab 🎉

I'm on alert for my period as I missed ovulation so no idea when it's coming 🤣 hoping its sooner rather than later so that i can get on with trying 😍

Amber17 · 30/04/2022 20:36

@lj2022 I think i’m ovulating tomorrow so will be joining you. Made the mistake of booking the second week of it as annual leave - no holiday, just need to use up some - so not even got work to distract me then!

WingingIt09 · 30/04/2022 17:51

@Theawkwardblonde I use fertility friend. I definitely don't take it at the same time each day... which probably affects the accuracy. I just take it the first time I wake up, whether that's 5am or 7am (I wish it could be that late 😂😂).

HeathenPlayingHouse · 30/04/2022 17:26

@Brightonbelle87 Thank you lovely. I do get cramps, but funnily enough, nowhere near as strong as they used to be when my cycle was "normal".

I haven't tried an iron supplement to be honest, I don't know why but I feel nervous about taking it without having my blood checked first. For some reason I'm paranoid about poisoning myself lol.

lj2022 · 30/04/2022 16:20

Is anyone else going into the TWW? I need to find some ways to keep busy but so hard when working from home with nobody around you. What do you all do in your TWW?

Theawkwardblonde · 30/04/2022 15:10

@LemonZestDribbles that sounds very much like you're due to ovulate! I find once I have ewcm I ovulate in the next 24 hours or so.

@WingingIt09 which app do you use to track bbt? I tried tracking bbt before conceiving DD but lost off with it. Do you temp same time each day?

WingingIt09 · 30/04/2022 13:55

BBT has actually worked for me this month and I have cross hairs for ovulation! AF predicted 10/11th May. 11th is last day of holiday so hopefully won't be till then! Also pushes back the potential due date if we conceive first cycle, which is better too. Getting excited to start trying! Not long to go!

@Theawkwardblonde @Cherrymarket thank you both! They were nearly white all week but I think it's getting darker today and got some ewcm. Ov predicted tomorrow so makes sense.

@Theawkwardblonde You're a boss for the 12 hours back to back 🙌 the epidural is bliss 🤣

@Nyxxie it never got above 10 days for me. The month I got pregnant as I was excited I'd hit 12dpo. My ttc group pointed out I was probably pregnant 🙈 I'd definitely try the angus castus

Sunshine0987 · 30/04/2022 11:12

@Nyxxie I'm getting so excited to be joining the actively trying club soon! We have to wait until end of June/start of July because we went on holiday to St Lucia in March/April so there's a Zika risk. I have been really impatient and worried that DH isn't that bothered about it even though we've always been clear and agreed about our plans to have children. But last night he told me he'd bought his TTC vitamins for men so that's a really positive sign 😊 I really want us to be excited about this journey together rather than me being the one dragging him along 😂

Brightonbelle87 · 30/04/2022 09:31

@keeponsmiling2019 ooh sounds promising, fingers crossed! Will you try an early test? The last 48 hours to see if AF starts is so frustrating.

I'm so sorry to read that @HeathenPlayingHouse no wonder you're exhausted, hopefully you're not in pain with cramps the whole time. Do you take iron tablets to counteract the loss of blood? Hopefully you can rest this weekend

Brightonbelle87 · 30/04/2022 09:23

@TrillianMurphy thank you, good to read a positive delivery experience for someone with epilepsy. I had a chat with my neurologist yesterday and she said there's no automatic need to have c section unless there's an emergency. There's also an epilepsy maternity nurse and I've now got appointments booked for a few weeks time. Just hoping baby bean keeps this time!

Nypie · 29/04/2022 23:27

Thanks for everyone who shared their birth stories and plans I loved hearing them all! I now think that if my birth does not go to plan I will take what is being offered without pause buttt what Im aiming for is a gas and air positive pool birth though not sure how I'll deal with luke warm water.

C sections have never appealed to me I think cause my step mom had one and I remember her talking about all the bleeding afterwards I was quite young and clearly scarred for life 😂😂

lj2022 · 29/04/2022 18:26

@Nyxxie I got mines off Amazon. I went down a hole and downloaded Tik Tok and ended up on TTC Pages and saw so many success stories of progesterone cream so decided to order. If you get pregnant while using I think you need to use it the full first trimester as the drop in progesterone can cause miscarriage

Nyxxie · 29/04/2022 15:50

@lj2022 I don't usually have spotting but I did last cycle on 9DPO. There was then nothing until AF arrived about 36 hours later, during which time I was getting my hopes up that it had been implantation!

I'm similar to you in that ovulation is usually day 16/17. Hopefully that's a good sign for you that it is later this time and means things are having an effect 🤞 Is the progesterone cream something that you were prescribed or can you just buy it?

HeathenPlayingHouse · 29/04/2022 15:33

@FourOclock Thank you Flowers

It's more inconvenient than anything else, so I feel like I shouldn't complain. But then I have moments like I did earlier, where I worry that it's caused by something sinister, and I end up getting upset thinking of the possibilities. All because the GP doesn't want to look past the BMI chart.

FourOclock · 29/04/2022 15:19

@HeathenPlayingHouse it all sounds so draining, I wish I had some practical advice for you

lj2022 · 29/04/2022 15:09

@Nyxxie sorry to hear about AF. So far I seem to be ovulating later this cycle. Usually ovulate between CD16-18 and got a positive OPK today so now predicted to ovulate CD20 so not sure if agnus castus is maybe changing my full cycle to be longer? I'm also trying progesterone cream this month I considered waiting until next month and just seeing if agnus castus worked on its own but wanting to give myself the best chance possible. I was also December coming off the pill and have had 5 cycles so soon going into cycle 6 of trying if this month is unsuccessful. Do you get any spotting before AF?

Nyxxie · 29/04/2022 15:03

Hi all, just been catching up after a few days away. Managed to put TTC out of my mind for the week which was nice!

Thanks to those who replied to my last post when AF arrived 10DPO..

@FourOclock @MrsGrealish I was using OPKs so don't believe ovulation happened any earlier than I thought.. if anything it may have been later as I just assume it's the day after the peak but it can take longer can't it? 🤷🏻‍♀️

@LemonZestDribbles yes AF arrived in the afternoon 10dpo. Thanks for sharing your experience that does give me hope ☺️ Was your luteal phase still 8/9 days right up to the cycle before you conceived?

@lj2022 thanks, yes it is so difficult when AF comes, especially when it's so early. I feel like a longer luteal phase would have at least been a small win, even if I didn't get a BFP! Please let me know how you get on with the agnus castus, I will have a look into it too. Have you tried anything else previously? I have been off the pill since the end of December, going into cycle 4 now (not counting the withdrawal bleed from the pill as a cycle). How about you?

@Dreamingof3 when I first joined MN I found a thread about resting heart rate and TTC and have been obsessing over it since! 😂 I do find it goes up at ovulation and during the TWW, and back down just before AF arrives.

So sorry for the essay guys, hope everyone is doing ok and congrats to those with their BFPs 🥳 🥰

Quite a few people soon to be added to the 'actively trying' list.. how is everyone feeling?

keeponsmiling2019 · 29/04/2022 14:14

lj2022 thanks I'm going to try to hold out

Brightonbelle87 wow congratulations. Which test did you use? What are your symptoms?

Cherrymarket · 29/04/2022 13:38

Alice1608 · 29/04/2022 06:52

Good luck! Sending you lots of sticky baby dust starting in May (so a few days!lol). I'm curious if everyone had used male vitamins and if they work? And what vitamins (if any) people are taking before conception? Does this make a difference? Xxx

i take folic acid, and I take it 3 months before conception at least. Apparently the egg you ovulate was getting ready about 70 days prior so this is why they say 3 months.

folic acid helps to stop spina bifida so at the very least take that.

I also take vitamin d as I need it, and omega 3 because I have very little in my diet as I can’t eat many natural sources of it. I kept this up all through my last pregnancy.

DH has never taken any preconception vitamins but is partial to a berocca which I guess is a cheaper version 😅

Cherrymarket · 29/04/2022 13:33

@LemonZestDribbles My opks come out of nowhere. I never got a peak last month but knew it must have been overnight as usually they are so quick!

HeathenPlayingHouse · 29/04/2022 11:44

CD6 and after 2 Clomid pills, the bleeding stopped for about an hour last night before coming back heavier than ever. So I think that theory is a bust.

Back on the Norethisterone again today, I'm praying it'll kick in at some point. It's going to be a long six months, I just feel exhausted right now.

Alice1608 · 29/04/2022 11:40

LemonZestDribbles · 29/04/2022 10:16

@Dreamingof3 definitely the men's turn

@Alice1608 DH is on wellman. Like @Theawkwardblonde I thought it couldn't hurt and I have to take a cocktail of pills at dinner so he can too 🤣

@PinkButtercups that sounds so intense 😩 the idea of a tear terrifies me. Was it bad?

@BlueberryMacaron good on you for having a list. It's your body, I don't think they'll resist your wishes 🤞

Those doing opks, do yours graduate up from faint to darker to peak? Or do they go from nothing to peak? Mine are still really faint (predicted ov day Sunday) and I can't remember what mine were like with DS. DH will be leaving for a business trip on Monday so I'm getting the no peak until next week fear 🙃

Haha of course! They should join in the fun! Xx

lj2022 · 29/04/2022 11:39

@keeponsmiling2019 oh fingers crossed for you 🤞 are you going to wait until missed period to test?

@LemonZestDribbles my OPKs are practically a non existent line until 3 days before my peak then they gradually progress but not much then I get my peak day. Think I might have peak today but I'm debating wether it's positive or just every so slightly lighter than the control line. So I seem to get a more sudden surge where I know some people get a longer more gradual surge but some get a sudden surge
