I have done two tests today that say im pregnant (I think) and I am shocked to the core

Nurse phoned there and she said my bloods today were at level 417 but wouldnt say if this was good or bad does anyone know if for 6 weeks this is ok or very low she would not hint atall only said they were keeping a close eye on me in case it was ectopic and i have to return for bloods on sun am...so I have no clue if this is a good level or not????

any advice re whether 417 is good??????? I havent a clue.....!!!

also is slight cramping and the odd twinge on left hand side normal please advice

what did the scans say? It's the not knowing that's the worst thing - I found once all clarified I could then move on and deal with it. I also felt silly for thinking maybe this or maybe that and my life ws on hold - but then that is just human nature.

Am just getting used to all these acronyms soamipregnant so will check out the whole CAT thing as I assume it does not refer to a fury feline in this instance?!

I feel so silly being upset I guess its the not knowing and the wondering about every twinge etc...not wanting to get hopes up yet wanting to think the best and be postitive / which for me is basically having this baby....

Can't believe how much so many people go through. I had the red blood shock on xmas day (6 weeks pg with number 3) but still tested positive after 2 weeks so had a scan which showed nothing there so had 2 blood tests 48 hrs apart which showed hormone levels going down - finally had it confirmed yesterday that it was indeed a miscarriage (had to rule out ectopic). So here I am back in the conception threads and will start asking all the conception after m/c questions!

Really really understand what you are going through soamipregnant mine was also an unexpected pregnancy but quickly got excited about having to squeeze 3 little ones into our house and spend even more time chasing my tail!

Let us know how you get on - finger crossed for you - just know that whatever happens you will cope with it - aren't us women strong!

If you ovulated late it would explain the negative tests as the HCG levels would be so slight that they could only be picked up in concentrated urine.

Did they do an internal scan or an external scan? For very ealry preganancy, only an internal scan can really tell you what, if anything, is going on.

but the truth is I do want this baby (if there is a baby which i hope there is) and I will be upset if this preg does not go to plan but I am trying very hard to remain very positive...... I have a strong faith and know I am ultimately not in control of this one so no point in getting myself all in a state (easier said than done can you tell im trying though ) xx

I am ten mins back from the hosp

they did a scan and cant see a thing other than some womb thickening which would indicate a pregnancy but nothing else, no sack or anything else

i should be 6 weeks 1 day today according to dates

they said they would have thought they would see something by now

they did another preg test it came up the faintest line ever and actually faded into what looked like a neg though we both agreed (nurse and i) it was positive. but she said my urine was very dilute.

sec test showed a consistent faint line though so def have some preg hormone in me.

she took bloods and the nurse is going to ring me this afty late on to tell me I guess whether the levels are good or not?

they want to ensure if there are hormonal levels that it is not ectopic so I have to go in on Sunday and have more bloods taken and then they will keep a close clse eye on me

I was dead disappointed when the sonographer lady was looking and looking and couldnt see anythihng I have to admit but nurse said i could have ovulated late and only be slightly preg...

what is oncfusing me is the pos then neg then pos then neg tests arghhhh IYKWIM xx

will keep you all updates as if its ok as I am loving your support

I am actually feeling ok I am feeling hopeful but trying to remember that whatever happens I have two healthy children and We will all be ok (ie keeping this in perspective)
