Recurrent miscarriages and went on to have successful pregnancy?

Hi! I have had 3 miscarriages in two years and wondered has anyone else experienced this but went on to have a baby with no known cause? All my bloods are normal but it's hard to believe it will ever happen when you've had 3 miscarriages in a a row.

@Hopingforarainbow27 how have you been with it?

chasingtherainbow1 · 03/02/2023 12:40

@Hopingforarainbow27 aww everyone seems to be having girls atm. I have felt fine throughout surprisingly. Tiny bit of food aversion on the first trimester but that's it. Just wishing the time away now we're nearing the end!

babyjellyfish · 01/02/2023 10:33

That's a great update, OP! Best of luck for the rest of your pregnancy and the birth.

I got pregnant a few weeks after posting on this thread and had a healthy baby girl three weeks ago. It was my first cycle trying again after having my son. So I had five unexplained losses and then two healthy pregnancies in a row.

It's so hard when you've had so many losses and have no living children to show for it, but almost everyone gets there in the end.

Ahh. I just saw the end of the thread. It’s all worth the heartache in the end!

Senseofsomething · 31/01/2023 22:56

I had three miscarriages and a DD who was stillborn before my successful pregnancy. No particular pattern to any of it or reason found, just crappy luck in my case. It’s hard but keep trying. Good luck.

@chasingtherainbow1 aw that’s so lovely! I’m having a girl too! That’s amazing we are so close together. How have you found pregnancy?

@RoloRF3 hi! Thank you for checking in! I just read through this whole thread and it seems so strange that was me talking. I’m currently 35 weeks pregnant with my rainbow baby. Didn’t do anything different this time. So there really is hope even though you can’t see it at the time

@Hopingforarainbow27 hi I think we have spoken on previous threads before experiencing 3 miscarriages at similar times. Congratulations on your current pregnancy! Not long left now! I am currently 31 weeks pregnant with my rainbow too, it's a little girl ☺️

Not me, but my best friend.
She had 4 recurrent miscarriages, and lost them all around the same gestation.
She had some investigation and then began hormone treatment- progesterone I believe. She had a healthy baby boy a year ago.

Hopingforarainbow27 · 26/05/2022 20:05

@Lifeafterloss22 I'm so sorry to hear your experiencing the same pain. To be honest I have felt better after the third than I had done after the other two. I don't know why, I protected myself the third time and to be honest I don't want to get consumed by it. I'm just hoping it will happen when it's meant to. I have a scan booked in June and a telephone consultation as well which I think will be the genetic results from the twins. I do feel as time is passing I'm starting to get consumed by it again. Everyone I see is pregnant so it is hard. I'm here for you anytime 💞 you are not alone.

Yes - I had three MMC (had seen heartbeat in 2 & 3). Had the standard tests at that point, all ‘normal’, was prescribed nothing (this was the norm then), did nothing different, & pregnancy number 4 stuck. Sometimes it’s just bad luck! I bled until 16 weeks with #4 too, so did find it difficult to get excited, but loved being pregnant by the end. Keep trying, keep hoping 🌈

allfurcoatnoknickers · 26/05/2022 16:43

My mum had FIVE before she had me, including one at 20 weeks which was very traumatic. She had a totally normal, straightforward pregnancy with me and she was 43 at the time. Consultant lead and had an elective c-section (unusual in the 80s apparently) but that was because of her history and age.

By contrast, I got pregnant immediately with my DS at 32 and had a laundry list of complications and THREE consultants involved at one point.

Neu · 26/05/2022 16:22

I have had 6 mc with no found cause and have 3 children with completely normal pregnancies

Mr Shehata at CRP clinic

Who did you see out of interest @harrietm87 ? X

harrietm87 · 26/05/2022 15:46

I had 4 in total at around 6 weeks, 2 nAtural and 2 mmc. I had 2 healthy babies on progesterone and prednisolone (prescribed privately).

@Hopingforarainbow27 so sorry to hear about your losses 🥺 it’s a pain I feel so closely. Im just reaching out to you in dire need. Currently going through third missed miscarriage in the last 12 months. 27 years of age, keep very active and have a fairly balanced diet. Fed up of people telling me I’m young as the age is irrelevant when you want something so bad.

Just wondering how your doing? How you’ve been coping? I’m absolutely exhausted now physically and mentally and in limbo until my D&C next week. We are going to take some time off trying whilst hopefully having tests. I’ve asked my GP for a referral to Professor Quenby at the Coventry clinic, done a lot of reading on Tommys website and I’m particularly interested in testing of NK cells. I know there’s a price to pay but if my body is destroying the pregnancy each time then I want to try and do something about it. I’m already on Clexane due to a previous PE so I know clotting isn’t the issue. And I don’t really have any reason to suggest progesterone is the issue, although I do want it checking as well.

Be lovely to hear back from you. X
