I didn't realise the old thread had reached capacity until I hit 1000 so here's a new one. Thread 13 but feels more like 130 for me. New folks welcome, some of us have been hanging out here way too long and would like to alight already!

I've tagged a few of you...

@ShirleyValentineManc ooh that's good that you get to go for ivf soon! I'm afraid I'm not on any ivf threads just a few with some ladies doing it like the donkey cart lol but good luck!!

@thislittlebird exciting that your second round is coming soon!

Carla2601 · 30/06/2022 20:34

Good luck @ShirleyValentineManc and @thislittlebird i know how nerve wracking a time it is and I’ll be thinking about you and sending good vibes

ShirleyValentineManc · 30/06/2022 13:13

@thislittlebird yes NHS. Cool I'll find the donkey cart

thislittlebird · 30/06/2022 12:06

Hi @ShirleyValentineManc, I’m not very active on here now because there’s not many of us left but there’s another thread me and @Marvellouslymadmum are on called All Aboard the Donkey Cart and similar infertile donkey (as opposed to fertile unicorn lol) themed things, and another one I’m on called Fertility Appointments and Beyond which is very active.

I’m doing my second transfer this month, ivf continues! Good to hear you’re starting in august, is it nhs?

Hey guys, our IVF starts in August, anyone know of any good threads for that?
How are you all?

ShirleyValentineManc · 19/05/2022 21:43

Good evening all. So joyous to hear of some people getting off this group, bring on more happy news!
Last Wednesday our MRI consultant confirmed we will go forward for IVF. We have no physical issues.
Husband has 3 morphology (top notch!)
My AMh is 29.8 (top notch!)
After 2 years of trying, we've had one confirmed pregnancy that end in miscarriage.
Consultant said based on our age and "unexplained infertility" we'd have 30-35% of a life birth.
Then told us that NHS funding in many areas had gone from 3 to 1 funded cycle?! "Covid"
And that my Greek partner (who had lived here for 9 years and works in the NHS) has to go through "overseas" checks, thanks Brexit.
Anyone else had"normal" results, going for first IVF cycle soon?

Marvellouslymadmum · 17/05/2022 09:31

@Carla2601 it was fun but very tiring! Hoping to get some classes up and running now to help me loose some weight!

Carla2601 · 14/05/2022 07:33

@Marvellouslymadmum that sounds fun! I’m at a family 40th sober….slightly less fun 😂

Marvellouslymadmum · 13/05/2022 22:24

@Carla2601 thank you, I've a full day training tomorrow for my dance fitness qualification so hoping to loose a couple of pounds! Hope you're having a great weekend too x

Carla2601 · 13/05/2022 22:07

@Marvellouslymadmum good luck on Monday and hope you’re having a lovely weekend x

Marvellouslymadmum · 13/05/2022 18:28

@Carla2601 I could t talk to the go until Monday as she's busy, so I'm just temping and opk for now to see if I can work anything out then will see what she says

Carla2601 · 13/05/2022 09:16

@Marvellouslymadmum any update on your second opinion? Surely you can’t go 120 days!

Marvellouslymadmum · 10/05/2022 22:29

@Carla2601 haha thanks! I find a sense of humour definitely keeps me a little sane in this ttc journey! I've finally found a little in for on the net - a lot if people were given norethisterone to bring on a bleed then take it BUT I did find a couple of people who were told to take it without and apparently it can help with thicker lining too so I think I'll phone gp in the morning for a quick 2nd opinion and go from there 🤷🏼‍♀️
If they tell me to just wait I may go a little stir crazy, especially if it's double the length of the first 50mg dose as I'm on double the dose - that would be 120 days 😮

Carla2601 · 10/05/2022 22:23

@Marvellouslymadmum youve got a 10/10 sense of humour and some enviable resilience 😂. I wish I had even the slightest bit of useful advice to offer but I don’t, sorry! Keep us posted though I feel like something surely has to give soon!!

Marvellouslymadmum · 10/05/2022 22:12

@Carla2601 I don't know if I should take
It and hope or wait and hope for af 😂 x

Carla2601 · 10/05/2022 22:04

@Marvellouslymadmum that is strange isn’t it! Did they say why? I don’t know anything about clomid but I also have never heard of that. Well I hope you get af soon (weird thing to say haha) so you can start over. Thank you xx

Marvellouslymadmum · 10/05/2022 21:48

@thislittlebird
I don't think I've any hormones left they all seem to have deserted me!

@Carla2601 I phoned the secretary today and the consultant phoned me back and said if I'm definitely not pregnant to take the clomid anyway! I'm a bit confused by this advice as I've never heard anyone be told that before!
Oooh congratulations that's such good news! I do hope everything goes well for you and of course! X

Carla2601 · 10/05/2022 20:07

oh @Marvellouslymadmum thats so frustrating, can they do anything or do you just have to wait it out?

Does that help bring your next cycle forward @thislittlebird or just an anomaly? Did you say you see them again next month but can’t be sooner?

Bit of news from me - I had my transfer back in April and today I was able to have my viability scan. It’s still very early days but there is a heartbeat so I’m officially 7 weeks pregnant and discharged to my local hospital for midwife appointment next week. We’re not getting carried away we totally know there’s a lot that can still go wrong but trying to enjoy the relief of today at least. I absolutely understand this is really difficult so I won’t be talking about it here unless there’s something anyone wants to know about the process or anything but I’ll stick around because A) it’s so early I still feel like we’re in ttc world and b) I want to keep up with you guys if you’ll have me x

thislittlebird · 10/05/2022 16:59

@Marvellouslymadmum nothing to report here. Failed FET as you know from the donkeys thread and now what appears to be early ovulation maybe??? I will put that down as a result of the IVF meds. The hormones have certainly settled down but things are different since Feb for sure.

Marvellouslymadmum · 10/05/2022 09:13

How's everyone doing now? I'm cd73 🙄🤣

Marvellouslymadmum · 24/04/2022 18:50

@Carla2601 I wasn't well through part of the cycle, had tonsillitis so temping was out anyway, I'd used so many opk' so just thought I'd give it up as a bad job and start again next - I'd like to say month but I'm going to stick with cycles as this one's been two months long 😂
🤞🏻 it all goes for you, does not sound good!

Carla2601 · 24/04/2022 18:38

@Marvellouslymadmum ah sometimes nice to have the freedom to not be planning it but yeah hopefully onto the next cycle soon. Good luck.

Yeah there’s actually not a lot they can do - just when I thought I’d finished jabs I’m now doing blood thinners which are nasty but manageable so hopefully I won’t get a blot clot at least. It’s just trying to make you as comfortable as possible and make sure you can breath. Really hoping it’ll start to disappear this week 🙏🙏🙏

Marvellouslymadmum · 24/04/2022 14:43

@Carla2601 oh no that's not good! What happens now with that? Do you just carry on and see what happens?

I have no clue, I've given up temping, using opk and we are just dtd as and when we feel, I think it's an anovulatory month anyway so just waiting for af at some point so we can start again - weird wanting her to show up!!

Carla2601 · 24/04/2022 13:59

@Marvellouslymadmum sorry for the late response - I’ve been in and out of hospital this week with a fairly severe case of OHSS. Not ideal. I’m the size of a house and very short of breath and uncomfortable but it’s either easing off a bit or I’m getting used to it but either way I’m feeling a touch more human today.

how are you doing? Did your cycle come right in the end?
