Hi all,

I have just got my peak fertility on the clear blue ovulation test. How often should I be trying? Xx

babyjellyfish · 28/03/2022 10:37

Hi everyone, do you mind if I join this thread?

I am in cycle 1 TTC no.2 but I had recurrent miscarriages TTC my first, so I'm sort of mentally preparing myself for it to happen again.

Not sure quite where I fit in!

calimc83 · 28/03/2022 08:43

@Skl2021 Hey, thinking of you today xx no AF as yet but tested yest on a one step and negative 😑 so think AF is just being a bitch...I should have used the OPKs 😂😂 x

Sassy144 · 27/03/2022 21:54

@peachiekeen that's good, I've been good thanks. Though I was holding my nephew in a restaurant today and the waiter wished me happy mother's day 🙈 lucky I'm in a good mood because I'm approaching ovulation haha

peachiekeen · 27/03/2022 20:50

@Sassy144 same to you lovely. I hope you're OK today. I've been alright. I've tried to push it to the back of my mind and stay busy which has been successful so far.

Sassy144 · 27/03/2022 19:59

@curliegirlie I'm 40 in Jan so 💯 know where you're coming from. My age really bothers me 🙈 I sway between trying to be relaxed to mega obsessed and peeing on everything! ( by that I mean OPKs) 😆😆 x

calimc83 · 26/03/2022 18:33

@Skl2021 yeah ok! AF hasnt shown her ugly face yet but my cervix is so low it could be mistaken for a prolapse 😆 so pretty sure she'll show up tomorrow 😬🙈 how u doing? X

Tofu35 · 26/03/2022 16:54

Sorry if this has been mentioned before on the thread, but has anyone seen the Tommy's mother's Day video. I thought it was really sensitively done and shows the whole range of motherhood including those who have had miscarriages, & failed cycles of IVF.

Skl2021 · 26/03/2022 16:14

@calimc83 how are you today? 💕 X

Sassy144 · 26/03/2022 10:16

@peachiekeen yes exactly! I hope you have a lovely break away, not testing is a really good idea and will take the stress away 💛

@Lottie2267 that's a really good way of thinking about it, thank you. You're so right x

curliegirlie · 26/03/2022 10:15

I’m just worried now we’re trying it either won’t happen (I turn 40 this year) or will be another long drawn out process - possibly peppered with MCs/CPs along the way.

It seemed such a happy surprise (once we’d recovered from the shock!) when we saw the two lines earlier this month - after 16 months TTC our first, and 12 months with our second, it was incredible it had just happened when I’d been slightly lax with pill-taking…

I’m really torn between not tracking at all (just taking the view, well, we’re not preventing and if it happens it happens), and starting back on the OPK bandwagon next cycle, as I know I can be wonky….

Lottie2267 · 26/03/2022 09:11

Hi girls, not sure if this will help, but every time AF turns up I just think to myself - well, at least I’m not having a miscarriage. I just think I would rather AF turn up then to get a positive pregnancy test and then go on to miscarry again. I don’t know if this is a good way of looking at it but that’s what I’m trying to do at the moment xxx

peachiekeen · 26/03/2022 08:51

@Lizm1990 I know what you mean - it's always there in the back of your brain no matter what you're doing. I really hope it happens soon for you!

@Sassy144 I think it just makes us more expectant that it's going to happen quickly. Especially as we keep being told that you're more fertile after a mc. Which just ends up making you more disappointed really. We're on this rollercoaster together lovely. Let's just hope it's not too much longer. I'm not tracking anything this month as we're going away and will be ovulating while I'm away and don't want it ruling my holiday but I'm rooting for you!

Sassy144 · 26/03/2022 07:13

@peachiekeen I'm the same as you we fell pregnant first time trying in Jan and now realising it was just luck, wish it was always that easy!

calimc83 · 25/03/2022 21:30

@bunnykins123 I still don't think my cycles have settled since my MC in Nov. They're around 25/26 days long and I seem to spot now, keep thinking I have a hormone imbalance but not sure what I could get tested for? Ahh gosh end of Jan isn't that long ago, I'm so sorry. Did u fall pregnant easily? I caught first cycle which is making me panic now..😬 3 cycles down and not a hint of anything! I'm not 💯 sure on my ovulation date as didn't use OPKs but I think my cervix is a pretty reliable indicator ( I told myself I shouldn't delve around but I can't help it 😆) x

Lizm1990 · 25/03/2022 18:48

@peachiekeen I feel exactly the same as you about just wanting to be pregnant, it’s hard to stay motivated at work when you want something this much! I’m trying to stay realistic as this is my first proper cycle but I know if it doesn’t happen this cycle I’m going to feel really down but I’m not sure I can do anything to stop that as it’s so hard emotionally. Hopefully for you it won’t take too long 😊 i said to my mom that for me it’s the worry how long it will take and then the second worry is the scan …. Only until after then I think I will relax a bit

peachiekeen · 25/03/2022 18:17

Hi @curliegirlie sorry that you're here. I've got everything crossed for you!

@Lizm1990 it's literally all I think about too. This is my second period since my mc and I wasn't expecting it to hit me as hard again. I think because I fell pregnant on the first try in January I've been expecting it to be easy to fall again and it hasn't been. I just want to be pregnant again 😢

Lizm1990 · 25/03/2022 17:51

@bunnykins123 I’m on CD16 done two LH tests today so far and I think I peaked this morning with a read of 1.76 but going to test later to double check as my last test my wee was a bit over hydrated. I’m similar to you though in that my mmc was diagnosed 30th Jan but had my D&C on the 10th Feb, had my first period then now fully trying. It’s so hard not to obsess but it’s literally all I think about 🤦‍♀️😩 hopefully your peak will come soon 🤞

@curliegirlie welcome 😊 fingers crossed for you both! This thread was never something I thought I would ever be on as it never even crossed my mind, but I’m glad I am here as everyone is really supportive 😊

bunnykins123 · 25/03/2022 17:37

@Lizm1990 weird, isn't it. When ttc DD I was dry as a bone but now I'm literally having globs of the stuff! Where are you in your cycle?

@calimc83 this is my 1st 'proper' cycle post miscarriage at the end of Jan (sob). Not grim at all - an absolute necessity when trying to figure out the dreaded 'am I, aren't I' dilemma! I'm so sorry it was stark white. Could it be you ovulated later? I think I'm going through a dodgy cycle this month as I usually get 1000 years worth of flashing smiley faces but this cycle seems to be a slow starter (despite the symptoms!)

curliegirlie · 25/03/2022 10:52

Tentatively joining here. I had a surprise pregnancy earlier this month (would have been child number three) before losing it 4 days later. Although I think I was very early (not much further on than 4 weeks) the positive lines stuck around for a couple of weeks and I’ve only just started getting negative tests again, which is a bit emotional. Anyway, myself and my husband had the chat and have decided to go for trying to have a third properly….so here we are.

Going by the bleed I am CD17 but fully expect my cycle to be a bit screwed, as it is at the best of times tbh (my second daughter was conceived around CD21…) so will be cheering you all on from the sidelines and sorry you’ve found yourself here. It’s a headfuck and I can only imagine the anxiety if I get a BFP again…
