@TheOnlyException1 how are you keeping ? Hope you're doing well in this first stage, how many weeks are you now ? Thanks so much This TWW is driving me mad already I'm keeping myself busy in the evenings but it's when I'm working from home alone I can't stop thinking about how slow the days are going.

TheOnlyException1 · 06/04/2022 12:04

@FourOclock Ah yeah, that's probably going to happen here! Have you had the first appointment yet? Am I right in thinking that's usually at about 8 weeks?

FourOclock · 06/04/2022 11:38

@TheOnlyException1 our area said the same about getting an appointment within seven days, it was over two weeks before I received my appointment! 🤦🏼‍♀️

TheOnlyException1 · 05/04/2022 22:32

@DanceWithYourBalloon @lj2022 I tested for the first time 12dpo and got a super super faint bfp, but then got the much stronger line by 14 dpo - but I also had on/off spotting every day from 11dpo through to 18dpo so who knows! I'm keeping everything crossed for you both!

Hey @NarnieJoy, doing okay so far, but only at 5 weeks! Had pretty bad nausea, and really sore backache for a couple days - weirdest is I can't stop burping all the time! Blush
I filled out the self referral to the maternity department on Thursday, and it said a midwife would be in touch with 7 days, so trying to be patient and wait for them to call back.. time seems to be crawling though!!

NarnieJoy · 05/04/2022 16:40

Hi all - hope you are ok?! Sorry been a bit MIA. Looking forward only 3 months to go until TTC for me!

When are this months ladies testing? How are our preggo Mumma’s? Any early scans coming up? Xxxx

lj2022 · 05/04/2022 09:20

@DanceWithYourBalloon oh that's exciting you're a good chunk into your TWW now fingers crossed for you. I'm taking seven seas vitamin and then Vitamin B6 and Vitamin C to try help my short luteal phase

DanceWithYourBalloon · 05/04/2022 09:10

@lj2022 yep! I think I'm around 7/8 dpo. I've been using Ovia to track things but that's about it really. I think I'll do a test on Friday morning.

What vitamins are you taking? I got some Step Ahead pregnancy vits from Superdrug. They are massive though! 🤢

Brightonbelle87 · 04/04/2022 22:34

@Jennifer89 I got a pack from boots own brand to try this month, be interesting to see how we get on! Has anyone else used the boots ones?

Jennifer89 · 04/04/2022 14:33

@Brightonbelle87 Ah I see sounds like it can disrupt the cycle a bit. I take multivitamin as well as pregnancy tablets so maybe too much folic acid..
I think the ovulation tests will help as my phone app may not be accurate. Going to order from amazon.

Brightonbelle87 · 04/04/2022 14:20

@Jennifer89 I've been taking a higher dose of folic acid on prescription for about a year and my cycles went from 28 days every time to 26, 30 and sometimes 32 days. Very annoying for working out ovulation days. I've become a near expert on checking my ahem 'liquid' type, more watery = time to DTD. But I'm going to try opks this month for the first time as I'm getting impatient!
Folic acid has made my nails stronger and grow quicker though!

Jennifer89 · 04/04/2022 14:00

Have any of you ladies found changes to cycle since taking folic acid/pregnancy tablets? This month my period has come couple days early and meand my expected ovulation days have changed Hmm..
Thinking may help to start using the ovulation sticks..

Dreamingof3 · 04/04/2022 13:41

I've never done a proper tww...I can't imagine I'll be very patient 🤣

lj2022 · 04/04/2022 10:06

@DanceWithYourBalloon oh are you also in TWW? How many DPO are you ? It's hard not to cave normally I get spotting before my AF so I generally know at 7dpo that AF is coming but taking vitamins this month to try help my literal phase so if I don't get spotting I'll be desperate to test. I know some people test as early as 9dpo and get a positive but I'm always to scared to get disappointed

DanceWithYourBalloon · 04/04/2022 09:53

@lj2022 I have plenty of DIY projects that need finishing here if you want to keep busy! 🤣

My app says 6 days until I can test but I will break before then. 😂
I just hope it's not another chemical if this latest round of spotting is anything to go by.

lj2022 · 04/04/2022 09:33

@DanceWithYourBalloon @TheOnlyException1 thank you both. It is a long wait just trying to think of things I can do to keep myself busy. I should have left all the DIY needing done in my house until this TWW to have kept me busy

DanceWithYourBalloon · 04/04/2022 09:23
@Nypie it's so hard to tell if it's legitimate ovulation pain or I'm just symptom spotting as I am supposed to ovulate today. I'll find out in a few days if my temp has gone up 🤞 I feel this TWW is going to be the hardest so far as it's the first time we've actively DTD multiple times in fertile week as I'm now over two back to back viruses and back to full health. You're right through the body is amazing but so confusing and strange
Fingers crossed for you. TTW feels like it takes forever! 🙃

DanceWithYourBalloon · 04/04/2022 09:22

I had spotting the other day which was similar to what I had in my last pregnancy. However I've had some more this morning. Still only enough to wipe (tmi!) but it was red rather than pink.
So everything I thought I knew is out the window and will just have to wait a few days to test! 🙃😬

TheOnlyException1 · 03/04/2022 21:34

@LucyLoopyLu thank you, feeling a bit calmer today, DH and I started to talk about what we need to buy and how we'll prep the house etc. last night and I woke up feeling excited and more positive this morning (although very nauseous and exhausted!)
I totally understand the worry you are feeling though, I was absolutely convinced it was going to take us the longest time to conceive, I think it's just a defense mechanism not to be disappointed, but hopefully you'll be wrong like I was!🤞are you able to discuss the science of ttc with your OH? Once I showed DH my tracking app and explained how ovulation works etc. he was much more invested! I'll be honest, we don't tend to DTD super frequently when not ttc, so the third time trying during fertile week was a bit of a struggle, but I think that was the one that did the trick in the end!! If you can, I really think open communication helps though ☺️

@lj2022 good luck for the tww, I'll keep my fingers crossed for you!

LucyLoopyLu · 03/04/2022 19:39

@WingingIt09 I am feeling a bit weird about it all now! I desperately want a baby but I wish I could skip TTC and pregnancy. There are a few things that I am dreading - I'm not good with doctors and have quite a bad needle phobia. Also me and my OH have a pretty sporadic sex life so I am worried about how to approach that / how to talk to him about timing DTD etc is quite stressful. I assume we're not the only couple with that issue but feel like no one ever seems to mention it!
I am also anxious because I'm 34 in October and worried it will take us a long time to conceive... basically I'm a worrier!

@TheOnlyException1 hope you're OK, I think a lot of people find this an anxious time so definitely try not to beat yourself up about it 💛 I hope you are taking it easy

hopingforanothermiracle2022 · 03/04/2022 19:34

Hi All,

Hope it's okay for me to pop in and join this thread.

I'm 33 with an almost 10 month old son. My partner and I are getting married in May and will be starting to try for baby number 2 (I'll be ovulating whilst on honeymoon 🎉)

I'm both excited and terrified to be on the TTC journey again after a miscarriage in 2020 and difficult pregnancy and delivery with DS.

Looking forward to sharing this crazy journey with you.

Nypie · 03/04/2022 19:06

@lj2022 I used to have awful ovulation pain when I came of the pill worst them my periods I'd get back ache, sore boobs and pain in my abdomen. Probably for the first 4 cycles the last 3 nothing apart from cm changes and temp rising. The body is so strange.

FourOclock · 03/04/2022 15:11

We had a two bed when we decided to try for number two, and then we extended to make it a three bed and now pregnant with number three Grin the boys share at the moment though (although youngest shares with us more currently 😂)

Hoping we can move in a few years but the house is a good enough size for now

Dreamingof3 · 03/04/2022 14:57

@tryingtryinggone were in a 3 bed now and the girls share because they asked to 😅 so we already have the room. It's mostly the area I'm not keen on but I guess we could move any time if we were a bit better off. Also, completely unnecessarily I'd love a play room so all the kids toys weren't in the lounge 🙊 that'll have to wait!

lj2022 · 03/04/2022 14:41

@WingingIt09 I'm not close to testing but about to go into the TWW. Making lots of plans and coffee dates with friends to keep me busy after work and thankfully have 2 busy weeks at work ahead. How are you getting on?

Also quick question does anyone experience ovulation symptoms ? I've felt a little nauseous today and also diarrhoea and stomach cramps that don't feel like period pain however could be related to the diarrhoea. Just wondering if anyone experiences ovulation pain or cramps or other symptoms ?
