@Dreamingof3 Thank you so much!

tryingtryinggone · 18/04/2022 21:10

@WingingIt09 ooh exciting to officially be trying next month! Definitely not worth holding off just based on their comments as like other have said it’s highly unlikely you’d give birth on that exact date.

@LemonZestDribbles welcome! I’m like your DH. Keep looking at my DD and thinking ‘really? Am I mad wanting a second?!’ 😂 we originally wanted to wait until she was 3 (so trying early 2023) but tbh I’m just too broody haha. I convinced DH by saying it’ll probably take months anyway so better to start trying sooner rather than later! I also ‘met’ a load of ladies through mumsnet who were all due the same month with my first. We have a fb group and message all the time even now. It’s been an absolute lifesaver, particularly when there have been things we’ve been concerned about or just to have some solidarity when it’s all a bit tough.

@SarahShorty welcome! It’s mad how crushing it is when your period arrives even when not trying for long.

I’m currently CD23. Not sure how many DPO as wasn’t tracking. We didn’t DTD that much so not feeling too hopeful but also feeling pretty relaxed at the moment. I’m sure that’ll change in a weeks time 😂

FourOclock · 18/04/2022 20:05

Good luck to everyone trying now, so exciting! I need some more buddies Grin

LemonZestDribbles · 18/04/2022 20:04

@nypie we had a pregnancy 'scare' last month when my period was 10 days late. I was really upset that I wasn't pregnant. Dh said if I was going to be miserable every month now we should just try now and I said DEAL. I think he might have been half joking but it's too late now 🤣

@TonkaBean22 enjoy your holidays - will be plenty of time once you're home to get that bfp

@SarahShorty welcome! Hopefully won't be too long until that bfp. It's so nice to be able to chat so openly with others in the same boat

@LucyLoopyLu covid and period together is just cruel. At least it gets it over with. I hate the stress too. The stork would be so much easier

Dreamingof3 · 18/04/2022 17:50

@brightonbelle87 definitely still in with a chance...sore boobs was always my first pregnancy symptom 🤞

@sarahshorty welcome and good luck for this cycle ❤️

@anibendod 🤣🤣 my other half would die I think

LucyLoopyLu · 18/04/2022 17:43

Thanks for keeping the list updated @WingingIt09! Exciting to see us all there together ❤

I have been feeling a bit flat this weekend, turns out I came back from holiday with covid so a bit of a waste of Easter weekend 🙃 I have been trying to rest!
I also got my period so feeling ill and bad period pain. Happy days 🤣 but could definitely be worse timing to catch covid, I managed to dodge it for two years so can't really complain.

I really CBA with the stress of ttc - might have done too much research before this point as I am feeling quite anxious about everything. Not ideal I know!

@SarahShorty

Hi everyone! Smile

I'm brand new to these forums, so I'm sorry if I'm gatecrashing anything! Blush I have lurked on the site for a little while. I've been TTC since February so not long at all, unfortunately no BFP yet. Started a new cycle literally today and I feel quite gutted, though it's only the second attempt and I've heard it's uncommon to get a BFP after such a short time. Anyway, I hope you're all having a lovely day and thank you for these forums!

D'oh! I missed some info out; I'm 34 and I'm TTC baby #1.
anibendod · 18/04/2022 15:56

first month properly TTC baby #1, now 2DPO. We DTD every other day from cycle day 8 - 17. Poor DH doesn't know what's hit him but he's loving life!

I'm now 2DPO and trying not to wish the next fortnight away or get my hopes up too high. Lots to keep me occupied with getting the house decluttered as our would be nursery is currently a junk room and our house needs a fair bit of renovation work.

With the cost of everything going up, I've just sat down and figured out a rough budget for maternity leave. It's been helpful to see where we could make savings to ensure taking a year off is affordable (I'm the main breadwinner, but mat pay in teaching is not the most generous). We're also try to pay for as many house renovations as we can afford in the meantime. I feel better for having a better idea of how much I need to be putting in each savings pot.

Hope this is a good month for lots of sticky beans!
@LemonZestDribbles "He said let's start early 2023 but I've cut that down to officially trying this month" you are an absolute wizard. Welcome aboard 👋👋👋

DP asked if we should start trying in june...but can't because of bloody zika virus 😭😭😭😭😭. Bestie has said I should just wait as we have a girls trip coming before TTC but I dont care if I'm pregnant I will go and be the most fun t -total pregnant lady. Gonna book an appointment with the Drs so they can drum into me what I already know.

Has anyone done a pre TTC check up? Google says its a thing...?
I’ve got a TTC check-up thing booked for May, as I live abroad and need to get up to speed with how pregnancy and birth is handled here. Apparently they recommend it here for first time mums, but I imagine it’s probably just checking your weight, telling you take folic acid and not drink. I’ll keep you posted!

I decided to hold off one more month before I actively try, as I have a couple of holidays planned in April and early May, so I didn’t want to risk being pregnant for them - and I also wanted to try to avoid a January baby.

I’m actually ovulating today - or at least according to my ovulation strips I am. Really keen to get started but I know it makes sense to hold off until this time next month :(

What an exciting list!

AF due this week and I’m going away for work. Im 99% certain we missed the window (intentionally) but feel like I should pack a test just in case AF doesn’t turn up - I do not want to have to do the Bridget Jones buying a test in a language I don’t speak thing 😂

Will def be trying next cycle though - I think I’ve timed the next work trip as immediately post ovulation but am getting nervous I’ll be a few days late and then miss it entirely.

LemonZestDribbles · 18/04/2022 11:52

@Brightonbelle87 tender sounds like a good sign 🤞🤞🤞

WingingIt09 · 18/04/2022 11:36

Is anyone else testing soon??? X

OP posts:
WingingIt09 · 18/04/2022 11:36

@Brightonbelle87 I know! Hopefully we will get lots moving to the pregnant list soon. 7 days till AF is probably a bit early for a BFP so you're still in with a chance! Fingers crossed for you, do you know how many DPO you are? Xx

OP posts:
Brightonbelle87 · 18/04/2022 10:27

Welcome @LemonZestDribbles!

Look at that list, there's so many of us!

I'm so impatient, I've got 7 days until AF is due but did a pregnancy test this morning which came back negative - no matter how much I squinted. I know its too early and I'll wait a few more days, but I just want to know! Boobs have been really tender for the last week so I'm clinging onto that as a sign...?!

WingingIt09 · 18/04/2022 10:23

@LemonZestDribbles list updated :)

@Dreamingof3 so many on the actively trying list now! 3 weeks for me till my next cycle then we're trying! So exciting! But like you some days I look at my kids fighting or tantruming and think why on earth am I going for a third 😂🙈

OP posts:
LemonZestDribbles · 18/04/2022 10:10

@wingingit09 he's 18 months now. Still feel like he was born yesterday. I'm 33 for your details too :)

@Dreamingof3 3 will be so much fun! I cannot imagine having 3 but then I didn't think I'd want two. Hormones have a lot to answer for 🤣

Dreamingof3 · 18/04/2022 10:02

@LemonZestDribbles I look at my 2 year old and wonder why we've decided a 3rd is a good idea 🤣🤣

@WingingIt09 I think as long as you and dh are happy with it then that's all that matters 😍

Look at how many of us are trying now! Seemed like ages to wait when I found this thread....I fly 4 weeks today and then it's officially baby time ❤️

WingingIt09 · 18/04/2022 08:11

Is there room for one more in your getting ready to ttc gang? My dh and are I have entered into negotiations for baby number 2. He said let's start early 2023 but I've cut that down to officially trying this month 🤣 he keeps looking at our wild toddler and saying "a second one, really??"
Last time I was ttc I made such a good bunch of friends. It was lovely seeing everyone get their bfps

@WingingIt09 great choice to go for it! Some family members will always focus on daft things like sensitive dates or names. At the end of the day it's your choice as a couple. Disneyland Paris sounds fun! I wouldn't have the ride bother as I'm too wimpy to go on anything hehe

@Dreamingof3 sorry about your mc ❤

@nypie I'm the same as you. Last time I was freaking out about Christmas etc but then ttc took so long (or at least it felt that way, it was only really 6 months) that I don't really care this time. Just want to be pregnant ASAP

dearhummingbirds · 18/04/2022 00:20

@HippeePrincess I wouldn’t say I’m a massive drinker, but I guess it’s all relative! Usually a glass of wine or two at the weekend, a beer if the weathers like it has been, and I’ll have a night out every couple of months.

@Nypie Ha! Well we’ve got a few months to try and psych ourselves up anyway.

Enjoyed reading everyone’s comments on their boozed fuelled conceptions! Haha. Maybe I’ll try to cut down on the night out binges nearer the time Grin

@WingingIt09 I definitely agree with you and your DH’s choice to not wait if you want to start to TTC. Do what is best for you!

WingingIt09 · 17/04/2022 22:51

Thanks @Dreamingof3 and @Nypie after yet another long conversation with DH we've decided not to let my family's stupid comments from stopping us starting to TTC. Feb works best for us for every reason but that one and chances of baby being born on one date that I'll be about 38 weeks pregnant for is slim. That's if we even fall pregnant first cycle.... so we're officially starting next cycle now 🙊

OP posts:
Nypie · 16/04/2022 23:22

Aw sorry @WingingIt09 I'm sure they don't mean to be hurful but it sucks that your family would treat you like that!
Personaly I'm not letting anything stop me not christmas, not being 9 months in the heat of summer, not it being inconvinent for work. But I am quite worried that it might take a while. If I already had 2 and both pregnancy were first try I'd probably wait for the most convinient date.

WingingIt09 · 16/04/2022 21:48

Yes, I think the likelihood of baby being born on that date is so slim, especially as I have a history of going overdue and have never spontaneously gone into labour... I'm tempted to risk it. We've always been lucky enough to fall pregnant first month trying (3x so far) so I feel like if we do try, chances are high we will get pregnant. It's not so much me, as I think baby will end up born at end of Feb anyway. I just know my family will make it all about that and be like 'oh baby better not be born on X days' 'it'll upset Y if baby arrives then'. And I know they'll do that as I was told to avoid going into labour (told to sit still and not move, and to cross my legs if it did happen 🙄) the day before my due date with DD2 because it was a similarly sensitive date.
