@Bear486 my friend came off the mini pill and never got AF for 3 months it just takes some people bodies a little longer to regulate. They say if nothing after 3-6 months go to the Dr as they can help induce a period. Don't worry it's completely normal some people just take a while to regulate

Nypie · 23/03/2022 17:24

Ah the witch got me good today! Feeling suprisingly okay about it something weird was going on that cycle but all in the past. I will focus on my health and being a good cheerleader to you girls🤸🏾‍♀️

Some of your TTC dates are coming up soon! How're you feeling??

Dreamingof3 · 23/03/2022 14:41

@Bear486 it could well be your cycle settling after the implant, however no harm in testing just to be sure 😀

Bear486 · 23/03/2022 13:28

Hey guys,

So I'm a bit unsure what to do! My last and first period after implant removal was 20th - 25th Feb. Entering that date onto my Flo app it calculated I should have been due on around the 20th March. I've still had no sign of any period! It's telling me that unless my period arrives today to pregnancy test tomorrow.

I dont know if I haven't come on due to the fact my cycles are potentially still not fully settled into a regular routine, or something else.? Do I take a test in the next few days or wait.?

WingingIt09 · 23/03/2022 12:18

@Dreamingof3 I think both rapid and gradual surges are normal? You just have one or the other and mine seems to be rapid based on last month. No idea though!

Dreamingof3 · 23/03/2022 11:02

@ocm19 it's hard to pin point it when you start and have no idea where abouts in your cycle you ovulate!

@wingingit09 mine seems to stay high for a while...I started worrying that it means something isn't right?!

That’s good news @WingingIt09 hope your headache goes soon.

So I tested again this morning and it’s slightly darker so who knows! I will test again tonight and over the next few days as my first cycle I ovulated on CD17 so could still be waiting this cycle x

WingingIt09 · 23/03/2022 08:04

@OCM19 the cold symptoms are going, although I have a banging headache today. Still testing strongly positive on LFT on day 5, was hoping to be negative by Saturday as I have tickets to go to the theatre but not looking likely :( yes, if testing too stressful you could definitely stop, if you DTD regularly through the cycle then then you should catch ovulation x

TheOnlyException1 · 23/03/2022 07:57

Hey all, hope everyone is doing okay and those with COVID are bouncing back okay!

@OCM19 that's very kind, thank you! I will bear that in mind ☺️

I totally feel you @dearhummingbirds, DH and I have also been together 10 years with no scares, and I have been a bit paranoid for years that I'm not going to be able to conceive, I think it's maybe it's a fairly common worry though!

Currently 8dpo/due AF in 7 days, and no symptoms really, a couple of very emotional moments over silly things (but that is very normal PMS for me!) but trying not to stress out.. so hard not to over analyse everything in your body.. I have had a few days of a very unsettled stomach, but I may have just eaten something that didn't agree with me!

OCM19 · 23/03/2022 07:20

@WingingIt09 thank you, I hope you’re feeling better too?!

Hmm maybe, I missed it last month because the digital ones didn’t pick it up. I may just stop testing this month and see what happens. It’s quite stressful and it wouldn’t necessarily change when we DTD.

How is everyone else doing?

WingingIt09 · 23/03/2022 06:54

@OCM19 sorry to hear you've been unwell with covid!

I wonder whether you've maybe missed your peak on day 10 as that's your strongest and then it gets lighter? Although day 10 would be quite early, how long are your cycles usually? I have to test twice a day to try and catch my peak as it surges so quickly. Equally might not have happened yet definitely keep testing x

Hi all, just catching up after a rough few weeks of Covid and catching up with work.

@TheOnlyException1 I read you post about being nervous about telling work. I’m an Employment Law & HR consultant so please do ask if you have any questions about entitlements/leave etc.

I am quite confused about my OPK’s. I’m currently CD14 and don’t really know when I ovulate as the digitals didn’t work last month. I’ve missed a day due to being away but may not have ovulated yet, but the second one looks darker than the recent tests! I will keep testing and hope for a positive!

Dreamingof3 · 22/03/2022 19:26

Our first was unplanned (right at the start of our relationship 🤣) so no time for cold feet. Second we were both quite chilled about until I got a positive test and then I was freaking out about having another!

This one I'm not sure....partner has said for ages he'd like a third, and I just wasn't sure. Then all of a sudden it became a real need for me. Now the time is getting closer though I worry about the financial side of things, whether 3 will just be a mightmare logistically, but mostly whether I'm a good enough mum 😒
To top it off I asked dp if he'd be upset if I changed my mind and he said not particularly 🤦‍♀️

Nypie · 22/03/2022 16:24

I think my cold feet will come about 2 months before the baby is born thats when I'll be doubting every decision made!

BlueberryMacaron · 22/03/2022 14:53

I've been the one with colder feet, DH would have started trying months ago, and I've been the one with all the reasons not to. But now with a date I'm so broody, and now I'm the one worried he'll say that now's not a good time!

dearhummingbirds · 22/03/2022 14:20

@PrettyPolly92 tbh, that sounds like both me and my partner Grin We discussed it last year as we hit 30/31, and mentioned maybe we’d think about trying around May. But then I started a new job, but I also just felt like May was much too soon. I bet I will feel the same again in July, with August the next month we’ve suggested we’ll start trying. Something else will pop up we can use an excuse. We both want children and don’t want to put it off too long as we’d like two before 35 if possible. And I also have it in my head that we’re going to struggle to conceive - no idea why other than the fact that we’ve been together 10 years and never had any ‘scares’. I think the commitment and financial side of things is scaring us, and as we have no parents nearby to help support.

FourOclock · 22/03/2022 13:51

With the first, I eventually got fed up of him saying 'we will just not yet' and I said I need a proper discussion about this and when etc. The conversation was him saying 'i just don't know if I'm ready....oh fuck it lets just see what happens and what will be will be' 😂

Nypie · 22/03/2022 13:49

@dearhummingbirds @WingingIt09 @PrettyPolly92 update from me. 13 DPO period was due yesterday still dont know whats going on BFN spotting again today still feel sick and back ache. I'm gonna to give OH my clear blue test and hes not allowed to give it back to me until friday.

@HippeePrincess its been about 7 months since I've come off the pill best decision ever though.. I think its caused me to gain weight. I hit "normal" 28 day cycles within 4 months, 5th month cycle went mad due to stress and 6th month...is this month and thats been a lol.

@PrettyPolly92 sorry your feeling low! This whole process is a headfuck I think we might be twins. My partner is not as ready as I am I know that and in the past he has really made me worry one time he said he'd idealy wait for 3 years. I almost packed my bags but with time hes gotten better and during the latest scare he's been lovely. Does he know your deadline? Also please dont say your worried about your age if your born in 92 otherwise we're both fudged!

Duckandsarah · 22/03/2022 13:27

DH was keen for the first but the second is less keen to go back to the sleepless nights and tbh so am I 😂
We just keep saying to each other about what our home will look like in 5 years… do we envisage 1 kid at the table with us or 2. That vision is what convinces my H as the thought of a baby is terrifying.

@PrettyPolly92 I mean this kindly, are you an anxious person by nature?
I overthought everything massively with DD, I thought I’d struggle to conceive because of PCO and “gut” feeling but it just turned out to be a big worry about nothing. It might be worth being kind to yourself about this. Stick to your target, but he has agreed to TTC so trust that and cross the rest later. It wouldn’t be fair to keep dragging it out so I’d have words if/ when that happens.

Hope that helps a little, I completely understand where you’re at x

PrettyPolly92 · 22/03/2022 13:27

@FourOclock That sounds exactly like my DP 🤣 We have a dog and he's such a great dog dad I know he'd be an even better Dad to a baby, my ovaries ache when I see him babying our dog 🙈 What made him come around to the idea?

@NarnieJoy Thats understandable! My DP has said April which is fast approaching and I just can't see him taking the leap yet 🥴 doesn't help that I'm due to ovulate on 2nd of April!

FourOclock · 22/03/2022 13:08

My DH has had cold feet with all three of ours. He wasn't keen to start TTC with the first at all, kept over worrying about it and often says if the decision had been up to him he would just never have bitten the bullet and said okay let's try, because it seemed so daunting. Even this time round he's pretty scared Grin

NarnieJoy · 22/03/2022 11:59

@PrettyPolly92 I would love to convince my DH to start earlier, but he has been working towards a goal of July. I think he wants the opportunity to keep working on himself with the knowledge that in July we will get on and he knows we will never be fully ready.

When have you and your partner set a goal for starting TTC?

PrettyPolly92 · 22/03/2022 11:20

Hello everyone, wishing everyone a speedy recovery from covid 🌸

I'm feeling very down at the moment, I've previously spoken on here about how my partner has very cold feet about TTC #1... he keeps saying "when we have a baby..." and "I hope our children will..." etc but I'm absolutely terrified he's not going to be "ready" by when we've agreed to start trying. It's literally all I think about and the more time we wait the more I worry we'll have problems and the longer we'll have to wait for our baby. I've tried speaking to him and he keeps just reassuring me that we will have a baby but I don't want it to seem like I'm putting pressure on him either.

I came off my pill 18 months ago (his idea) and just been using withdrawal/cycle tracking since.

Im interested to see if anyone else's partner had cold feet too? And how I can maybe bring him around without nagging him? 🤣

dearhummingbirds · 21/03/2022 23:17

@HippeePrincess I think coming off the pill or otherwise has completely different effects for everyone. I came off mine during the beginning of the first lockdown, as I’d be on it for over 10 years, for my skin more than anything, and wanted to give my body a break. Took me almost a year to get back to normal. I don’t say that to scare you at all - apologies if it does. That’s just what my body seems to do, it was the same when I went on when I was 15 due to heavy periods and acne and stopped at 17. Think my hormones have always been all over the place.

HippeePrincess · 21/03/2022 22:44

Sorry to hear some of you are having a tough time of it what with covid, af turning up early, uninvited or failing to turn up at all!

I’m starting to get nervous about coming off my contraception in 3/4 weeks time and what the hell my cycles going to do. I’ve been on hormonal contraception continuously for 6.5 years so who knows what will happen. This particular one I’ve been on a year and for what I think is the first time I got mid cycle spotting and I can’t think of a reason for it!
