@Jennifer89

My SIL recently announced she is 4 months pregnant. I did feel some mixed emotions as not yet started ttc and don't want it to now seem like we are 'stealing her thunder' if another newborn is on the horizon within a year's time and wonder how family will feel when we and dh annouce pregnancy. I even asked dh if we should delay ttc at least until their baby is born because of this and he says no doesn't think we should delay. Maybe I am just overthinking things Blush. Will be nice to have cousins so close in age.
I wouldn't delay. My DS and his cousin are 3 months apart 🥰.

My other sisters babies are only one month apart.

My period still isn't here! I've always been like clockwork so the fact it's now 2 days late is very weird for me. Still BFN on the tests so definitely not pregnant. Now worried why it's not here!

@dearhummingbirds the first time I came off hormonal contraception after 10 years on it staring as a young teen due to terrible periods (likely hormone imbalance too) it took over 3 months to get a period so I am half expecting that. Although I didn't wait long enough to find out how my boy would regulate as I ttc right away then and was pregnant the next cycle.
I just didn't want to come off contraception too soon as I am expecting we're going to be terrible at preventing using a barrier method! Still convinced I'll regret this decision in that I assume it will take time to start ovulating and being a lot older now it could take a while, but at the same time sods law if we don't prevent it will happen right away when we aren't quite ready.

@WingingIt09 we're moving ttc to June now, DP driving test is booked for the end of May and I am hoping we will have the house on the market by then.

@Bear486 I would have definitely caved and tested, hope you're out next bfp!

WingingIt09 · 27/03/2022 16:48

@Bear486 I would definitely test.

@alwaysseeingstars hope you're ok. Did you test again?

@Nypie I'm ok thanks. Covid negative now so have just been for a lovely walk with my children and MiL. Left my husband at home though as he's still unwell 🙈 glad we're not trying this month as fertile window fast approaching and don't think he's up to it!

@Bear486 I would definitely test!

Nypie · 27/03/2022 00:46

@alwaysseeingstars I'm so sorry that must be so hard. Were you able to take more test? When I had my chemical my test was pretty light then got even lighter then nothing then I had a very heavy bleed. It didn't happen straight away but every body is different. Really hope you're doing okay.

@PrettyPolly92 @dearhummingbirds @WingingIt09 how're you all doing...enjoying the weather I hope!

Bear486 · 26/03/2022 21:02

I'm still in two minds whether to test or not! Period was due 20th and still isn't here, Friday morning I got in my car to head out and almost puked 🙄 I was sick last night and also around 10am this morning! I feel totally fine in myseld albeit tired, I've just work 5 1/2 days straight through so potentially just why I'm tired.

Nyxxie · 26/03/2022 17:36

@lj2022 I don't blame you for not wanting to wait, time goes so slowly when TTC and there's enough waiting involved already! Here's hoping they do the trick 🤞

Nyxxie · 26/03/2022 17:22

@TheOnlyException1 ooh hopefully it is implantation! Fingers crossed for you ☺️

TheOnlyException1 · 26/03/2022 16:55

@QueenBee22 haha, nice to know someone is on the same day as me! I think I'll try and hold out until AF is due on Wednesday

@Nyxxie I'm not too sure to be honest! I'm definitely more emotional than normal PMS, although juggling a really busy patch at work and ttc has been a lot.. I've been pretty gassy (tmi 😅), and the main thing is today I have had light spotting/bleeding which is unusual for me, even though AF isn't due for 4 days.. honestly it's my first time ttc and I'm not really sure if this is implantation bleeding or my period coming really early for some reason.. It's all a bit mystifying!

lj2022 · 26/03/2022 16:11

@Nyxxie I'll definitely let you know I've heard for some people it works right away others it takes time. Ideally I only need it to lengthen 2-4 days so 🤞 all 3 of my luteal phases have been 10 days since coming off contraception so just thought since my period is so regular I didn't want to wait another month or two to see if it changed

Nyxxie · 26/03/2022 16:07

@TheOnlyException1 12dpo is probably a much more reasonable point to test than 8dpo!! I've seen lots of people getting a BFP at that stage. But I know what you mean about the disappointment too. Have you had any symptoms or anything yet?

@QueenBee22 yeah I know you're right I just feel like I missed out on all the POAS action last cycle! But I'm sure the disappointment of a BFN will outweigh any fun to be had from it. Fingers crossed for you when you next test 😊

@lj2022 hope they are effective for you at lengthening the LP. I think I will try the same thing if it happens again this cycle. You'll have to let us all know how you get on!

lj2022 · 26/03/2022 15:20

@Nyxxie I've also had a short luteal phase hoping that taking vitamins will help this one lengthen 🤞

QueenBee22 · 26/03/2022 15:11

@Nyxxie I'd hold off if you can I don't think it is really possible to get a BFP at 8DPO unless it's multiples!

I tested at 9 and 10 DPO and regretted it. Looking at the negatives but knowing it's probably too early is very disheartening.

@TheOnlyException1

I will also be 12 DPO tomorrow so fingers crossed for both of us! I'm going to hold off until Tuesday or Wednesday as I already tested negative at 9 and 10 DPO but I did get a BFP at 12DPO on my last pregnancy so it is possible!

TheOnlyException1 · 26/03/2022 13:25

@Nyxxie I know what you mean, I was thinking about that too, but then I worried that it would be upsetting to get a negative test on Mother's Day as well 😅 I will be 12 dpo / 3 days till AF is due, is that still too early to test anyway?

Nyxxie · 26/03/2022 12:35

Luteal phase

Nyxxie · 26/03/2022 12:34

Anyone else really tempted to test tomorrow just for the chance of getting a BFP on Mother's Day? 😂

I think I might although not much chance really as I'll only be 8dpo. Also just kinda want the chance to test before AF comes as I had a super short lutes phase last cycle 😕

Amber17 · 26/03/2022 11:17

@Worryant Glad the scan was ok!

I think I’ve had my post implant removal bleed now - 2 days of v light bleeding so difficult to tell apart from the days of random spotting I’ve had across cycle so far - so hoping for definite evidence of ovulating this cycle. Not sure if we’ll try in May or wait tbh - I’d like to get career advice about whether I’m timing this badly but scared that if I mention it to my boss that I’ll scupper my chances of getting my contract extended if they think I’m doing it to get the maternity benefits! Wish it was acceptable to talk about openly.

TheOnlyException1 · 26/03/2022 09:30

@Worryant sorry to hear you had such a stressful scare, but so glad to hear about the heartbeat, that's so exciting!

@alwaysseeingstars I feel for you, that's really tough. Yesterday must have been so difficult, I hope you had a good night's sleep and feel a little better today x

I am now 11dpo, have had a super gurgly stomach for about 6 days, and I have been getting more and more emotional.. I burst into tears at work yesterday Blush. DH says this is definitely more than my normal PMS, but not sure if that's just with stress of ttc.. AF is due in 4 days, but this morning I think I had a tiny tint of spotting, which has me confused! Honestly I can't wait until I can just take a test and know something 😭

PinkButtercups · 26/03/2022 06:19

Hey everyone.

Congratulations to the new BFP's since I've last been on.

I took a bit of a break as I just felt really down and AF is due today. Still no PFB. I haven't tested since 2 days ago and have no more tests. Might get some today depending on if AF shows.

lj2022 · 25/03/2022 14:35

@alwaysseeingstars yea I have cheap opks but not used them yet. I'm using natural cycles to do my BBT each morning because it's the only way to fully confirm ovulation apart from blood tests so gives me peace of mind that I'm definitely ovulating. I've read that too b6 and vitamin c so I started b6 this month along with a conception vitamin and will add in Vit C if I feel there's no difference in the next 2 months so 🤞 you're right though this TTC thing can become pricey

alwaysseeingstars · 25/03/2022 14:20

@lj2022 I've been using CB ovulation tests, think I'll have to switch to the cheap OPK's that people on here recommend otherwise this TTC lark is going to be V expensive! I just get stressed out deciphering lines so the CB ones have been easy & less stressful so far haha.
Ah that is annoying.. I've heard B6 can be good for helping ovulation/luteal phase, not looked into it though... ?

lj2022 · 25/03/2022 14:14

@alwaysseeingstars must be so hard having irregular cycles how are you tracking ? I'm CD 7 in my cycle but I have been ovulating late around CD19/20 which is frustrating. We spend all these years preventing then it turns out not to be that easy. As you said hard to know when to test especially if you're irregular

alwaysseeingstars · 25/03/2022 14:09

@lj2022 thank you, am only 14DPO currently - I would say this will be a reminder to me not to test early but I'm sure I'll still do it anyway!! It's really tough knowing when to test to be honest with irregular cycles. Feeling v down today as you can't help but let your mind run away with things.
Whereabouts are you in your cycle? :)

lj2022 · 25/03/2022 13:41

@alwaysseeingstars so sorry to hear that! How many DPO are you? Can only imagine how disheartened you must feel especially if you have symptoms still
