@HeathenPlayingHouse it's so funny how differently our bodies react isn't it! I didn't have a single bleed when I had the copper coil in for 5 years! Crazy.

Ah good old sunshine in tablet form, can't beat it haha Grin

HeathenPlayingHouse · 29/03/2022 13:42

@Duckandsarah Yes it was the copper one, I can't take oestrogen and progesterone only methods send my mental health down the toilet.

The strange thing was my periods were normal for the first 6 months after it was fitted, then they just went crazy. I had a second coil fitted under ultrasound after the doctor convinced me to give it another try, it dislodged after 1 cycle due to the heavy bleeding so I've been relying on my PCOS for birth control for the past year! Grin

Just did an order on the 'Zon, changing my inositol pills for powder after a vomiting incident the other night, plus more NAC and a years supply of high dose Vit D.

Just as good as actual sunshine, eh? LOL

Duckandsarah · 29/03/2022 13:28

@alwaysseeingstars I’m sorry you’ve had such a rough abs emotional time, I hope you are feeling ok.

@rosecbrm welcome! I don’t think you are too young, but I’d take the holidays and the experience of acting up at work, if it was me. September will be here faster than you know it!

@HeathenPlayingHouse is that the copper coil? Mine were regularly 12-14 days on that after I had my DD and it depleted so many nutrients and iron. Just make sure you take care of yourself as that is an incredibly long time to bleed.

Day 2 of period here, think I’m getting cold feet about trying now 😅 just feels like it’s coming round so fast and DD is at such a brilliant age at the moment. We will see.

HeathenPlayingHouse · 29/03/2022 12:23

CD6, having to start on Tranexamic/Mefanamic acid cocktail since AF is ramping up like a CD2 flow.

Doesn't happen every month, but more so in the last 18 months- my longest was 19 days straight in Dec 2020, I felt ready to collapse and it was so heavy my coil came out!

Aren't our bodies fun? Hmm

Brightonbelle87 · 29/03/2022 10:45

First day of AF with me too, funny that some of us are in sync to the exact day! My ovia app just tells me periods are great because it's the start of a new cycle and another chance! Hmm I bought an opk for the first time so might try that this cycle. When is the best time to start testing, 7 days after end of AF?

Agree about having the right partner, I'm 35 met DH at 32 but I wish we'd met in our 20s to make ttc easier! If you're ready in your 20s then go for it, and good luck!

alwaysseeingstars · 29/03/2022 09:05

@Nyxxie @hevann sorry to hear AF showed Sad sending luck for your next cycles!

@dearhummingbirds thank you

rosecbrm · 29/03/2022 07:39

@lj2022 thank you, I needed to hear that I think!

rosecbrm · 29/03/2022 07:31

@HippeePrincess thank you for your reply Smile

Yes I definitely agree with you, although I know for sure my partner is the one so that doesn't concern me.

I also agree it is young but I just feel like that's the next step we are approaching, which is scary and exciting!!

hevann · 29/03/2022 07:11

@Nyxxie AF has arrived for me too this morning 😢 x

WingingIt09 · 29/03/2022 06:55

@Nyxxie oh no 🙁 sorry to hear that! Xx

AF showed up, early again 😔

WingingIt09 · 28/03/2022 21:32

@Nyxxie I had nausea from the day before my BFP with my eldest and got my BFP at 10dpo so that's promising.... fingers crossed for you xx

dearhummingbirds · 28/03/2022 20:55

@Nypie not bad, thank you! Just on a come up after covid - seems like I’m not the only one! Has made my period late; I’m assuming that’s what it is, anyway! Not like we’re trying atm Confused. Otherwise we’ve been building a retaining wall in our garden the last few days. We’re serial DIY-ers. How are you?

@HippeePrincess funny how we all react differently to coming off contraception. I’m sure it’s likely you’d have a repeat of last time if that’s what happened before.

@Jennifer89 I wouldn’t wait either. It wouldn’t be stealing thunder - Esp when people are at the same life stages. These things happen Smile

@alwaysseeingstars sorry you’ve had such a bad week Sad rest up and take some time for yourself if you can.

HippeePrincess · 28/03/2022 20:54
@DanisEndo that’s tricky, in theory you have lots of time, but at the same time I can see why the endometriosis might make you want to ttc sooner. You can always stop ttc if you are at a point when you don’t want to be due/heavily pregnant.

@babyjellyfish I had my first when I was 24 started trying and got pregnant at 23, it’s not always too young but it is young. More importantly than age, I’d make sure your partner is the right one for you. Which although I was married, financially stable etc, my dh wasn’t “the one”, and because he was my first serious relationship and I hadn’t had a good relationship modelled in my childhood I actually hadn’t realised how shit and actually abusive he was.
I’d be absolutely certain about you partner, rather than worry about your age.
Sorry I was meant to tag @rosecbrm 🙈

Nyxxie · 28/03/2022 20:53

Hi all, lots to catch up on! Hope everyone is doing ok.

I have had really bad nausea for the last 24hours and had to really concentrate to not throw up this morning. Hoping it could be a symptom although it's still probably too early at 9DPO?

lj2022 · 28/03/2022 20:37

@Beautyangel1 I've read there's higher chance from the day before than on ovulation day as sperm is waiting to meet the egg however I have no clue how reliable that is. I wouldn't worry too much as I think there's still a great chance.

Also big hello to anyone new to the thread.
I know there's a lot of worried about TTC and timing but just do what feels right for you and your partners. I've been there with the do we have enough money or am I in the best position but I always think back to my mum and dad were in a much worse position than I am now and they survived. There will always be another holiday, promotion, event, house move etc so we thought just go for it. Im in a great job now as is my partner but still at uni part time and paying off a little debt but we now bought our house and we thought why not we will still manage as there's always obstacles in life. So welcome to the thread everyone is so nice and helpful

rosecbrm · 28/03/2022 20:33

@WingingIt09 thank you so much for your reply.
I completely agree with that! I feel very settled with my partner (I always have) and know we are getting closer to that next step!

Thanks for the advice on the pill, I think ultimately that's what we will do. I want to give my body time to gain it natural rhythm back!

Graceybaby · 28/03/2022 20:32

@Beautyangel1 sounds like you've given yourself the best chance you can given the circumstances :) It's always best to have the sperm waiting for the egg anyway! Good luck 😃🎉 Xxx

FourOclock · 28/03/2022 20:29

@Beautyangel1 there's still a high chance of success! Sperm can survive 48 ish hours, sometimes up to 72 hours I think so if you DTD in the last few days you're good Smile

Beautyangel1 · 28/03/2022 20:25

Hi all,

I got my peak fertility this morning on the CB.
It's a bit frustrating as my partner is away on a work trip from today, the day I got my peak fertility on the CB 😢
We did try during my high fertility days a few days ago and last night at about midnight (I got my peak this morning at around half six)

I'm actually quite frustrated this has happened!

What do you think? Xx

WingingIt09 · 28/03/2022 19:31

@rosecbrm firstly welcome! I don't think you're too young, if you feel you are ready. I was 25 when I had my eldest, we were the first of our friends to have a baby and for us it was the right time (we'd been together 7 years and had just got married). I think some of our friends thought we were nuts but we were just in a different place in our lives to them (and still are, which is fine). I don't think there is ever a perfect time with work/holidays etc. there will always be something/some reason to wait. I came off the pill 6 months before TTC my first and just used condoms instead.

@DanisEndo wow you've got a lot going on. Congratulations on your engagement! I can see why you might not want to wait with your endometriosis. I'm not happy in my job right now either and I'm holding out from changing jobs so I can have my maternity benefits. However, my team are great and supportive, it's the nature of the job that's hard, so I think I can manage to keep going. Do you think you can stick it out for however long it takes? Don't stay if it affects your mental well-being , particularly as you'll also be coping with endometriosis symptoms since you'll be off the coil. No maternity benefit is worth affecting your mental well-being for xx

Jennifer89 · 28/03/2022 17:51

@DanisEndo

you have been employed by the same employer for at least 26 weeks by the end of the 15th week before the expected week of childbirth (which is approximately the 26th week of pregnancy). In other words you need to have started the job before you got pregnant..

I think it may be worth however sticking out your job and ttc as who know things could get better..

DanisEndo · 28/03/2022 15:52

thank you so much @babyjellyfish thats really good advice.... The HR is my direct line of contact and also director and I have a weekly standing meeting with her so i could defo ask for a progress update in the way you've described. She knows im not happy with how ive been treated by the boss so that might persuade her to ramp up the training to try and get me to stay on board. (im not as smug as that reads - the boss is so difficult everyone in the company has refused to work with her and they struggle to keep external hires for longer than the probationary period... so they're keen to keep me on board as i've survived 2 years with her now, a new record.)

Thats a good point about caring less when you knew you were pregnant. I hadnt thought about that...

thank you so much for persevering through my ramblings :') really appreciate the advice.

babyjellyfish · 28/03/2022 15:44

Anyway, I was going to say, if you can try and move forward with the training, in your position I would probably TTC now, and take a break later on if you want to.
