Remind me, is this your first @TheOnlyException1? The nausea...ugh...! I wish I had tips haha. Try and eat little and often. Mints can help, ginger is supposed to too but I hate ginger so... Grin I try and eat a plain biscuit or plain toast before I get up in the morning which sort of helps

TheOnlyException1 · 30/03/2022 13:52

Thank you all so much! ☺️ I know this is crazy, and I'm trying to distract myself with work, but I keep thinking I want to take another test to make sure I'm still pregnant 😂 I'm sure I'll settle into it in time! Anyone got any tips to deal with nausea? I could barely manage 3 bites of breakfast today, without feeling like I was going to be sick 😅

Duckandsarah · 30/03/2022 12:49

@tryingtryinggone my dd is 1.5years now, time has flown!
It’s a great age but yes quite labour intensive. 😂 Glad I’m not the only one re-thinking haha
I know I want another but I just can’t imagine having 2 under 3, it’s a funny age to be thinking of ttc as it doesn’t feel like 5 mins ago I was pregnant the first time round!

If I remember rightly your dd is similar in age? And you had a similar birth experience to me as well!

tryingtryinggone · 30/03/2022 11:37

Congratulations @TheOnlyException1!

@Duckandsarah I’m day 4 of my period today and also now getting cold feet for ttc! 😂 my DD is a lovely age but she’s also hard work so I keep thinking the bigger gap as possible is better haha I’m sure you’ve said but how old is your DD?

OCM19 · 30/03/2022 10:22

@alwaysseeingstars I’m sorry to read about your early miscarriage, I hope you’re taking time to rest ❤️

@TheOnlyException1 a huge congratulations, so happy for you ! X

Vasectomyreversalhopeful · 30/03/2022 09:54

Going to log everything on My Fitness Pal stars

Amber17 · 30/03/2022 09:51

@TheOnlyException1 Congrats!!

Duckandsarah · 30/03/2022 08:59

@TheOnlyException1 huge congratulations!

@Beautyangel1 your timing for that is near perfect, if your peak was only 6 hours later!
Sperm can live up to 7 days but it is also dependent on the amount and quality of your CM. CM is the “leg up” into the womb so this isn’t present then it is going to be harder for the sperm.

alwaysseeingstars · 30/03/2022 08:41

@TheOnlyException1 congratulations!! So exciting Grin

@Beautyangel1 they can live up to 5 days (the nurse removing my coil actually said sometimes male sperm can live up to 7 days?!) but the day or two before ovulation is best, I got pregnant by DTD the day of my peak v early morning - so not dissimilar to your timing.

@Nypie ooh that's interesting, I was wondering whether to give the OPK's a miss this month but think I'll go for it if you can be ultra fertile!

@dearhummingbirds ah boys & their toys indeed, my DH can't wait to get the digger in the garden to start some excavation!

@Vasectomyreversalhopeful good luck, what's your plan? Can be so hard to shift weight sometimes!!

hevann · 30/03/2022 07:37

@TheOnlyException1 Congratulations! Amazing news. They are very good strong lines! xx

Vasectomyreversalhopeful · 30/03/2022 06:49

Congrats exception!

I am starting one final weight loss drive, 6 weeks until TTC.

FourOclock · 30/03/2022 05:39

@TheOnlyException1 congratulations!! So exciting!

HeathenPlayingHouse · 30/03/2022 00:34

@TheOnlyException1 Congratulations, fantastic news!

WingingIt09 · 29/03/2022 22:31

@TheOnlyException1 eek how exciting! Congratulations!! Xx

@dearhummingbirds @lj2022 @Nyxxie thank you! I'm not sure it quite feels real yet! I'm going to go get a digital one to further confirm tomorrow ☺️

@Beautyangel1 I think a couple of people replied on the previous page, but I believe it's recommended to DTD the day before the egg is released so that the sperm are ready and waiting, so I think you should be all good and covered, if you DTD the night before. Sorry to hear about Feb x

Nyxxie · 29/03/2022 21:55

@TheOnlyException1 eeeek how exciting, huge congratulations! I'm no expert but I believe some light bleeding is totally normal and those are great strong lines!

Beautyangel1 · 29/03/2022 21:43

Does anyone how long sperm survive? I've been reading and it says 5 days just want to know if this is true? I dtd the night before (6 hours before) I got my peak on the clear level ovulation test. My partner has been away so we never got to dtd during my peak days.
Do you think there could still be a possibility of conceiving.
I had a erpc for a missed miscarriage in February and my periods seem like they have returned back to normal.

lj2022 · 29/03/2022 21:43

@TheOnlyException1 amazing news! Over the moon for you. I think spotting is normal but I've never done this TTC thing before so not 100% sure. Massive congratulations

dearhummingbirds · 29/03/2022 21:37

@TheOnlyException1 massive congratulations! Great news.
I can’t offer any first hand experience, I’m afraid. But I’m sure spotting is normal.

TheOnlyException1 · 29/03/2022 21:33

Hey everyone! Sorry I disappeared for a few days!

So I have a big update! I said on Saturday I started getting some light spotting, 5 days before AF was due, which I thought could be implantation bleeding, and then it continued into Sunday, so I assumed AF had just come really early, but I took a boots early response test just to confirm, and thought I saw the slightest faint line. I also started feeling more nauseous and emotional.
Anyway then the light bleeding/spotting continued for Monday and today, so I really thought I was out of the running, but I felt super nauseous today so DH said just take one more test to be sure, and I just got two clear positives with two different brand tests!!

I'm over the moon, and so excited, but also a bit freaked that I've had 4 days of spotting/light bleeding (it's only really when I go to the loo, hasn't come with any pain, and it's been pink/browny coloured). Has anyone experienced bleeding like this at the start of pregnancy, should I be worried? DH has been reading up and says he thinks it's still within the realms of normal and healthy, but I guess the next step is to make a doctor's appointment.. this is so crazy, I honestly never expected a BFP this month!! Grin

dearhummingbirds · 29/03/2022 21:03

@alwaysseeingstars we really have had some great weather until today. We even hired a digger and my DP has been driving that around the garden - boys and their toys Grin. But yes, probably good to keep busy to keep your mind off things.

@Nypie thank you! Think we’re going to try from the middle of August as I’ll be able to get increased maternity pay and we’d prefer a late spring baby (one can hope!).
Awh, lovely. Good to get your DP feeling broody Grin

Nypie · 29/03/2022 18:07

@WingingIt09 glad your covid free!

@alwaysseeingstars so sorry for whats happening to you I know that no matter how early it is its still hard! Can't help too much with your question as I had my loss while I was still on birth control 🙄. But I have heard your supposed to be exta fertile afterwards as the hormones are still in your system so best of luck if you're ready to try again.

@dearhummingbirds glad covids fudged off for you too! When are you trying? I'm good thanks keeping busy at work and me and DP went to see our friends and their bubba so hes got baby fever🥰🥰

Cant remember who said it but I wish I was younger and trying for a baby, not that I'm old maybe just unhealthy I feel like my body will suffer during pregnancy and running around a tyke!

alwaysseeingstars · 29/03/2022 16:23

@Duckandsarah don't ask, my body is very practised at doing the opposite of what it is supposed to do 😂 I'm assuming it's linked to having such irregular periods before contraception? Didn't have a bleed when taking the Mirena pill either other than the odd one!

I do feel for Doctors sometimes, they have no chance 😂

Duckandsarah · 29/03/2022 16:16

@HeathenPlayingHouse haha I also take sunshine in pill form 😂 hopefully won’t need too much longer now summer is on its way ☀️

Duckandsarah · 29/03/2022 16:07

@alwaysseeingstars how did you manage that?! It’s got no hormones in it! What a dream 😂
Hormones send me loopy too but I’m the end the copper coil just sapped the life out of me so we do fertility awareness method instead now. No more contraception for me, ever!!!
