@NewtoTTC87 I wrote a reply below your recent post but you might have missed it as we were both posting at the same time 😂

HoneyLemon29 · 17/02/2022 18:10

@Bundaberg84 that's a good point. Even with all your fertility intact and healthy there's still no guarantee you'll end up pregnant straight away. I think I'm just going off previous pregnancies and hoping it would've happened just as soon 🥺

Bundaberg84 · 17/02/2022 17:54

@HoneyLemon29 I am pretty sure I ovulated on the side I have a tube but nothing happened. But yeah, in the end, chances of conceiving each cycle are around 20% - 30%, depending on the source. So there's never a guarantee :)

NewtoTTC87 · 17/02/2022 17:38

@HoneyLemon29 oh I didn’t think that at all don’t worry!
@hmmmmm123 sounds like you’ve been through it too but what a happy ending! 🥰
@Motherdare that’s reassuring thank you x

HoneyLemon29 · 17/02/2022 17:36

@NewtoTTC87 I've heard a lot about acupuncture but it's still early days for me so if I haven't conceived in a couple of months I may look into it. This is the first cycle we are actively trying and tracking through Premom app. Last month we were semi protected. Had a couple of "accidents" through ovulation but nothing came of it. I did get a lot of pain on my left side during suspected ovulation and AF showed 2 weeks later exactly so I'm assuming it was ovulation pain and my tube did not move that time. Or it did move and the swimmers got lost 🤦‍♀️

NewtoTTC87 · 17/02/2022 16:59

@Bundaberg84 Ah thank you! Feels sooo good to be able to talk to people who know and understand. Also sorry about the names, will learn soon! :)
Private surgeon done the flush when taking the fibroid out. It was keyhole surgery. He said it wasn't blocked (So I guess thats good).. And he cut away the film that had grown around the remaining tube and that was sent to pathology and it was all clear...Funny enough (that wind pic made me LOL) I also imagine the tube to be of similar built which means the film that had grown around meant it couldn't float freely to collect egg before? God I am so technical :D
No way of knowing whether it worked or not I guess, as its first month of TTC. I am due on in about a week and really feel like I am going to come on so not got my hopes up. I have my follow up with my NHS surgeon in April so perhaps will voice these concerns and see if he can send me for HSG? How long have you been trying now since the ectopic?

@HoneyLemon29 yes I know what you mean. I think its the complete uncertainty of whether your going to be a good story or a bad one makes it really difficult. Also all this worrying surely cant help conceiving.
I completely agree, there is so much unknown about ectopics... I was so shocked when given the diagnoses... It was something that I knew so little about.
I just emailed a place about acupuncture to help me relax! I am cycle day 22 but like I said I am not expecting much... How long have you been trying since the ectopic? Sorry if I am asking questions that you guys may have mentioned in the thread already.

@FoggySpecs Yep you are very lucky indeed, send those good vibes our way :)

HoneyLemon29 · 17/02/2022 16:58

@Motherdare thank you so much for your comment 💜

Motherdare · 17/02/2022 16:55

My ectopic was ten years ago but if it’s any consolation I conceived very easily twice afterwards - on one tube. First month of trying with both pregnancies and each time at the early scan they said I’d ovulated on the side with the missing tube and that the other one had swept up the fertilized egg. It’s quite amazing what our bodies can do but please rest assured one tube can manage quite well on its own in many cases. Good luck to all trying.

HoneyLemon29 · 17/02/2022 16:51

@hmmmmm123 congratulations and sorry about your previous losses 💜

hmmmmm123 · 17/02/2022 16:42

I had an ectopic pregnancy that ruptured back in March and had my right tube removed. Conceived the first cycle after that which sadly ended in a MC - that scan showed I ovulated from my right ovary and the left remaining tube picked it up.

Fell pregnant again in august and currently 30 weeks now Smile

It's a scary time but don't give up and keep positive Thanks

FoggySpecs · 17/02/2022 16:37

Oh and they also had to remove a massive cyst from one of the ovaries. Sending lots of positive vibes to those TTC.

HoneyLemon29 · 17/02/2022 16:36

@FoggySpecs it's nice hearing positive stories. When you had your scans did they say whether you ovulated on your tubeless side at all? Or were both pregnancies a result of ovulation on the side with a tube?

HoneyLemon29 · 17/02/2022 16:35

@NewtoTTC87 I did read my reply again and wasn't insinuating you have a damaged tube at all I just meant in general, it just looked as if that was aimed at you. I'm really bad at typing sometimes 😅

FoggySpecs · 17/02/2022 16:28

I had a ruptured ectopic aged 34 in the August. I lost a fallopian tube and lost a lot of blood. I got pregnant less than six weeks later and in June the following year gave birth to DC1. I then got pregnant again when DC1 was six months old and had DC2. Literally first time I had sex after the ectopic I got pregnant and the second time around I stopped breastfeeding and was pretty much pregnant instantly. I am very lucky.

HoneyLemon29 · 17/02/2022 16:02

Sorry to hear about everything you went through @NewtoTTC87 I've read a lot of bad and good stories on groups for Ectopics, and I've seen people conceive completely fine with a damaged tube, and I've seen people struggle with healthy ones. I don't know if it's just my paranoia talking, but I'm sure there's more to Ectopics than what's been discovered so far. What cycle day are you on at the moment?

Bundaberg84 · 17/02/2022 15:54

@NewtoTTC87 hi lovely, welcome to the "club" and sorry you're here at the same time. I don't think you wanted to reply to me, that was @HoneyLemon29 ;)

How did he perform the flush? And there's no way of knowing if it "helped"?

NewtoTTC87 · 17/02/2022 14:35

Hi ladies,
It is so lovely to hear everyone's happy stories, its so uplifting. Strangely also to hear 'not so happy' stories as makes you feel like you are not alone in this. I am new to this site and this is my first ever time sharing something so personal, esp online.

I also have one tube (my right taken out) following an ectopic in Aug. We got married in July, fell pregnant first month. We were ecstatic however found out it was sadly an ectopic. NHS surgeon said my remaining tube looked healthy however told me that I had a large fibroid and pregnancy would have been super high risk.... Told me to have it removed before trying again.
In Nov, I went private (as NHS waiting list was a year?!) to get the fibroid removed however this time was told that my remaining tube didn't look so healthy... He didn't actually give me a clear explanation however said something along the lines of there was growth around the tube like I had an infection. He performed a flush/clean and said to wait 3 months and try again. It is my 1st month of trying however as you can imagine I am driving myself crazy wondering whether my remaining tube will work...
In addition I have been pregnant prior to this ectopic but I wasn't ready to have a baby but now I have huge amounts of guilt literally eating me up every single day. It feels so good to be so honest about this!

@HoneyLemon29 Good luck in your tracking. I don't think CD9 is too late to track. In my experience I ovulate earliest CD13.

@Bundaberg84 I completely understand how it feels when you hear pregnancy of close ones. Me and my best friend found out days apart we were pregnant in Aug. Mine was ectopic at 5 weeks and she is now due in April. I am so so happy for her but every time I see her bump cant help but think I would have been the same size etc. :( Chin up. Look at all these lovely stories!

Good luck to everyone in there journey xx

TTC with one Fallopian tube
HoneyLemon29 · 17/02/2022 12:00

Well after the hospital visit last night I'm still ok to carry on TTC. So it begins 😮‍💨 I'm nervous to see if I get a peak at all.
I only started my first temp recording this morning on CD9. Is this too late to start tracking temp?

@myrainbowjourney how long ago was your hycosy?
I didn't have any other tests except bloodwork which is fine. All hormones are good for my age, I mean I was able to conceive twice so I didn't think there would be a major problem.

HoneyLemon29 · 16/02/2022 13:31

And also very sorry for the losses that have happened beforehand. 1 loss is one too many x

HoneyLemon29 · 16/02/2022 13:30

Thank you for the last 3 comments. The positive stories really do help ☺️

Whatdramain2022 · 16/02/2022 13:20

One friend has had four DC following an ectopic. Another has had non identical twins. You should be fine. What a horrible shock about your dad though.

Numeraluno20 · 16/02/2022 13:01

I lost my first pregnancy to etopic had iud in was left with one tube. Time passed we decided to just stop using pill and see what happens 4 months later my first born was conceived. Not expecting it to happen that fast! Fastforward 7 years we stopped the pills -second son born. My partner has now had the snip. Don't assume it wont happen quickly I wish you the best of luck in your journeyFlowers

IsabelHerna · 16/02/2022 12:45

I was a 'single tube baby' and that was 40 years ago! I am sure medicine has progressed from the 80s and you will continue your ttc journey just fine
