Hello ladies!

I’ve been reading these threads (at all hours clearly!) I just wondered if anyone was currently in their 2WW and wanted to join me? It’s so long!! I’m ttc number 2, have a 4 year old son, fell first time with him luckily so certainly not expecting the same this time round. This is our first cycle. I’m only using an app not any ovulation sticks so not sure how many days po I am, but According to app fertile window ended yesterday. AF due 21st I only have 24/25 day cycles since coming off my pill.

Anywhoo no symptoms yet as too early! I’ve had ovulation cramps and a few nights of very intense dreams. I think the only symptoms I can remember pre bfp with my son was really really sore boobs, couldn’t bare a bra on!! And really tired.

Please people join me to symptom spot and keep each other company during the 2WW.

@pinkpirlie I felt the same when I was pregnant too and was so so worried about things going wrong and in the end they did. BUT that doesn’t mean things will go wrong for you and the odds are in your favour. There was a yoga lady on YouTube who had some good advice (she had several mc’s). She said that she was so worried about being pregnant that she didn’t enjoy the pregnancy at all and was constantly bracing herself for things going wrong. But when things went wrong, it still hurt like hell. So the best thing to do (easier said than done) is to enjoy the pregnancy and IF things go wrong, which I’m sure they won’t, deal with it if it happens and try to enjoy things before and make the most of being pregnant because worrying only ruins that time. I hope that helps you in some way.

I think mumsnet can give a bit of a skewed view as so many women on here have miscarriages and cp’s (which I hadn’t even heard of before this forum) when in reality most women just find out they’re pregnant and that’s it. I don’t know if I’m being very articulate and it’s really difficult not to worry. I have got my fingers crossed this is a sticky bean for you.

re name? I’m not sure? Maybe “the millionth 2ww” haha

pinkpirlie · 14/01/2023 10:15

@Annapolis35 I'm glad you're feeling positive about restarting your journey.

I can only recommend the turkey baster method for in between DTD days. First time we tried it and it worked - who knows if that was the reason, but ...
I was laughing with my friend about it as she said someone on a TV show once said that worked for them, and she was really skeptical, but how now it's worked for me maybe they were onto something 🤣

I'm feeling so stressed though. Worrying at every twinge and symptom. I can't wait to be far enough along to get a scan for reassurance. I really hope the accupuncture helps. I feel way more stressed than when TTC.

Hope everyone else is okay.

Any thoughts on what we name our new thread? Shall we stick with 2WW or something new?

Annapolis35 · 14/01/2023 09:30

@ANP2020 it sounds likes it’s manageable and you have a plan. I hope the gp can help you too. Gosh you must take so many vitamins! I got so fed up by the amount I was taking I switched to the conceive plus ones so I only have to take two a day instead. A month off has really helped my mind and if you feel like you’ve got a lot to get your head around it’s worth it, it has been so nice to not be symptom spotting and being hyper aware of my body and to give myself a month to reset really. I had so much on my plate I honestly felt like I was going to start screaming haha, so it’s nice to feel normal again!

@pinkpirlie i think the acupuncture is a good idea to help with the anxiety. I am so happy for you and pray everything goes well, it has really given me hope! I actually feel excited to start ttc again and hopeful about it.

ANP2020 · 13/01/2023 22:24

Hey @Shaker21 , @pinkpirlie @Annapolis35

yeah it was so interesting she picked up on it and does make a lot of sense! I’ve looked into it a lot since and around 50% of people who have it aren’t diagnosed and it can take 2 years to get diagnosed (2 years is a large amount of time in the ttc journey to waste)

treatment is lifestyle so low gi foods, pcos makes you insulin resistant so they do sometimes put you on metformin which if I can get a diagnosis I think the GP will prescribe! I’m hoping I can reverse it with dieting and weightloss. The acupuncturist has also told me some different vitamins to take so I’m starting them - she’s said omega 3 at least 700mg, myo insitol (not sure of spelling) but 4g of that a day and some coq 10 all been added kn, there’s more but I’ve just started with them.

@Shaker21 let us know how you get on with your bloods. im really interested to see the difference it makes 🤞🤞🤞 it’s given you a strong ovulation!

@Annapolis35 so pleased about the house!! And glad to hear you’ve been taking sometime to you and just to relax and heal! It’s lovely isn’t it to just have a
month off and not constantly be thinking and symptom spotting! I’m undecided wether I’m taking a break this month, just to let me get my head wrapped around all the new diet and let the new vitamins set in

@pinkpirlie thats such good news I’m really really pleased for you!

Hi all,

Thank you all so much on the congratulations.
Still all okay with me and bean. I did one of those tests that says how many weeks you are and it said 2-3, which is correct as I'm 4w+1 today and the tests count from ovulation rather than CD1. When I had the CP, that test came back as not pregnant, even though the FRER had a line.

No real symptoms yet, just painful boobs and one giant vein has appeared on my chest which I hadn't noticed before - although it could well have been there.

I am still feeling very anxious and will be keeping my accupuncture appointment Monday as she said she will do some gentle accupuncture to help with the anxiety.

@ANP2020 really interesting that your accupuncturist has identified some things to investigate more. I hope you are able to take that and get some answers. A friend had a similar issues with having to push and push and push for diagnosis of endo. She had a treatment eventually and was able to conceive naturally after years and years of trying and failed IVF.

@Shaker21 good to hear from you. Hope the results of your bloods are where you want to see, I guess it may take a little while for them to build up, or is it an instant thing?
Keeping my fingers crossed for your 2WW.

@Annapolis35 OMG I am so happy it sounds like your new house is finally going to be yours. Eeek.
How are you feelings about getting back to TTC after the break? Sounds like you've been doing a lot of self-love/care over the past month which can only help going forwards.

Shaker21 · 13/01/2023 12:02

@Annapolis35 Yeah I am in TWW now, I am 6DPO today and have got my blood test this afternoon to check my progesterone levels this cycle from the medication so should know more soon whether its done what it should be to help or if next cycle we need to up the dose. Glad to hear you are doing good and have taken the time off to look after yourself and relax a bit and take the advice of the acupuncturist. Also so so glad for you that the house is finally going to be all finalised and should hopefully make a big difference to stress levels for you x

Annapolis35 · 13/01/2023 11:25

Hey @pinkpirlie i hope you are doing ok and everything is going well?

@ANP2020 that’s really interesting that your acupuncturist found PCOS. I don’t really know much about it but do you know how it’s treated? Hopefully this should give you a bit more clarity. I’ve continued with acupuncture and have found it helps. At my one before Christmas she told me to take some time to just look after myself and get myself well again, advice I am taking. I have just been concentrating on resting and getting my immune system up. It’s been nice to have a month off ttc and not having to worry about that. Next Friday is a month since the procedure so will be allowed to from then so May dtd every other day (no tracking).

in good news, the house sale should either be going through today or Monday - a massive relief for us!! I feel way better already with that.

@Shaker21 hows it going with the medication? You must be in your 2ww now?

ANP2020 · 11/01/2023 22:29

@pinkpirlie omg omg! How exciting I’m so so happy for you! It’s been a long and tough journey so you deserve this! I’ll be thinking of you over the next few weeks!

glad to see everyone is ok! I have indeed got myself going on the weightloss! I feel truly back in the mindset now so hopefully it lasts!

I’ve got a bit to catch u all up on! So I went to see my acupuncturist which I’ve been having weekly but had a bit of time away over Xmas due to Xmas and been ill! Anyway she’d asked to see my bloods and I finally got them to her and she thinks I deffo have PCOS so has told me to go back to GP. I have all the symptoms, excess hair, acne, overweight, but my bloods were borderline like testosterone 1.7 and the top is 1.8 my HbA1C put me at pre diabetic again in line with pcos! She also said that she’d calculated my free androgen (which Gp should have done and hadn’t) and it’s 12 and should be 8 or less. So she said it’s very likely!

Anyway I’ve started to drink mint tea 2-3 cups a day as that should lower testosterone and I’ve started some different supplements which should help along with the weight loss that should be heading my way. So she’s hopeful I’ll start ovulating again with those things so 🤞🤞

@pinkpirlie congratulations!!!! I’m so chuffed for you after a long long journey. Hope this sticks and please keep us updated and stick around

Hjudge56 · 11/01/2023 10:20

Congratulations @pinkpirlie !!! Sending all the baby dust your way!!!

chillybandits · 11/01/2023 09:41

@pinkpirlie congratulations 💕 that is lovely news! Keeping everything crossed for you!!!

AF arrived this morning, so I'm feeling pretty sorry for myself, I really thought it was happening

pinkpirlie · 11/01/2023 09:29

Thank you,
I don't know how many, as I don't track ovulation. But I'm CD27 and my period usually arrives on CD28.
The extra days of doing a turkey basting approach between our EOD DTD has clearly paid off 😭

Shaker21 · 11/01/2023 09:20

OMG @pinkpirlie !!! That is such good news!! It is so nice for us to see another positive test! I really really hope it sticks! Keep us updated with everything and what the nurse says later. How many DPO are you?

pinkpirlie · 11/01/2023 09:15

Hey everyone,

I finally heard back from the fertility clinic, and they are booking me an appointment.

But....
Some (hopefully) good news...

I did a test today (period due tomorrow) as I woke feeling a bit queasy but with no period cramping, and I have a positive test!

I literally cannot believe it. Second positive in over 2.5 years of trying.

I'm going to try to not get carried away until I know the bean is sticky, especially after the CP last summer. So right now I'm feeling very very anxious.

I have my second B12 today, so will speak with the nurse when I'm there about the pregnancy and what I need to do next. I didn't get that far last time as I had miscarried before I could speak with the doctor (as I had only tested about 5/6 days after AF was due).

I'm also due to be starting accupuncture Monday so will contact her to see what she says.

@chillybandits how are you going?

@ANP2020 I saw your weight loss post. Looks like you've got some lovely companions for that journey. We are still doing okay, except I burnt our tea last night so we ended up ordering pizza as we didn't have anything else in. But were good and just got the really small ones that are hardly any less money than the giant ones, but at least you can't over eat.

@Shaker21 hope the meds help with ovulation, and you get some positive news soon.

@Annapolis35 sounds like you're doing as well as you can be right now. Keeping fingers crossed the house move happens soon, it's been too long and a stressful a journey for you that you didn't need on top of everything else. Hope the recovery from the procedure is good and you'll be in a good place to restart TTC once everything has settled. Have you continued with the accupuncture?

chillybandits · 09/01/2023 20:13

thank you @Annapolis35 @pinkpirlie

@Shaker21 this is my first cycle since my MC but our 13th altogether. I'm feeling very crampy and exhausted today, which is making me emotional. I have a feeling this isn't our month, got another BFN this morning - I just can't control myself until I know for sure.

Shaker21 · 08/01/2023 18:35

@pinkpirlie Yes definitely want to get another one going so we can carry on chatting and supporting x

Annapolis35 · 08/01/2023 18:22

Hey ladies

@pinkpirlie thanks for your kind message! I am doing okay. The bleeding from the procedure has finally died down thankfully, and no news on house front but it’ll happen soon I reckon. The break has been good for my health! I have had a break from ttc this month obviously as recovering and not allowed sex for a further two weeks. My AF is due next week sometime so I’ve been sort of keeping in mind pre-AF symptoms and just found it funny that I’ve had all the symptoms this month on the months I’ve thought I may be pregnant. It’s nice to be aware of them but have no niggling thought in the back of my head as we have had no sex at all this month. I’m just thinking of this as a bit of a refresh period.

sorry to hear about the weight gain ladies. Christmas is always a time of indulgence and tricky. I hope you all had nice christmases and new years and got some time to relax.

@Hjudge56 im so happy for you and glad to hear things are going well. Keep us updated!

@chillybandits sorry about the miscarriage. I had one too earlier last year, very very horrible experience. Sounds positive with your symptoms!

@Shaker21 i really hope the letrozale does the trick for you!!

@ANP2020 hope you’re doing ok too! Sorry that AF arrived but glad you’ve recovered from the chest infection.

pinkpirlie · 08/01/2023 17:20

Also worth noting we are getting close to the post limit (think it's 1,000????),
Shall we start a new thread soon with just those still active?

Shaker21 · 08/01/2023 17:19

Hi guys 😊

Happy New Year! Hope you all had a good Christmas and New year.

Sorry to hear AF arrived @ANP2020 and that you haven't been feeling well! Really hope you are starting to feel better and feeling ok about moving on to the next cycle!

@Hjudge56 keep us updated how you get on for the scan and can't wait to hear about it!

@pinkpirlie I am also back to healthy eating tomorrow and trying to lose some weight. Annoyingly still had so much snack chocolate and stuff in the house since Xmas so now that is all finished, shall be able to start the calorie counting again. Where are you in your cycle now?

@Annapolis35 hope everything is going OK and you are all good!

@chillybandits Welcome! What cycle are you on? How are you finding all of it?

I came on AF 26th December, took my Letrozole days 2-6 so finished them CD 7 and I am now 1DPO after getting a positive OPK CD 12! So that is a bit earlier than I normally would ovulate. I am normally CD15-16 so that was different. Still unsure how I am feeling about it all....in my mind if ovulating on CD15-16 isn't long enough to make it a good egg then how is it any better ovulating that many days earlier 🤔 just unsure what to think of it all. I have got my day 21 blood test Friday afternoon so shall wait and see what that comes back with x

pinkpirlie · 08/01/2023 17:15

Sorry didn't mean to post that already.

@chillybandits sorry to hear about your miscarriage. I also had an early miscarriage at 5+2 in August. I have never felt such emotional pain in my life. Hope your signs stack up and you get your BFP this month.

I'm due AF Thursday/Friday. Boobs hurt and cramps starting so expecting AF to come as usual.
Starting acupuncture next Monday and am hoping that will help.
I am also getting B12 shots every other day for the next two weeks, and doctor said my progesterone test didn't confirm ovulation but didn't really give me anything else, just that I need to speak to the fertility clinic again - if only they would contact me! She said I have to bug them else they won't get back to me. So annoying!!!

12kg to go before eligibility for IVF, 6 months until I'm too old for IVF. Count down is on.

pinkpirlie · 08/01/2023 17:08

@ANP2020 sorry to hear about AF coming with full force. New year, new start. Back on the diet sounds good.

We started properly yesterday and so far been doing really well. Counting calories, and did a 6km hike yesterday (meant to be longer but after wading through shin deep floods we gave up and took the shorter route back).

@Hjudge56 really hope the scan goes well, can't wait to hear all about it. So exciting!! If I do ever get pregnant, definitely not looking forward to the sickness, so I can only give you a virtual hand hold and hope that it fades soon.

@Annapolis35 know you're taking a break, but just wanted to let you know in case you read this, you're in our thoughts and hope everything is going well with the house move and the procedures.

@Shaker21 how has your new year started? Hope it's going well!!

@chillybandits welcome!

chillybandits · 08/01/2023 11:37

Hello, hope it's okay to join. I'm 12dpo today, AF is due on the 11th and I'm having lots of symptoms. I miscarried at the end of November and have 1 period since, so know it's probably very hopeful at this stage! I used OPKs and think I ovulated around the 27th December.

I've got heavy/tender breasts, slight cramps and twinges on and off, I'm absolutely exhausted but also can't sleep at night, bad indigestion and today I can't stop gagging at everything 🤢 I've also noticed my boobs look almost blue with the amount of veins sticking out lol!

Before my BFP in October, I had similar with the sleeping issues, breast tenderness but also hot flushes which I haven't had this time so it's just a waiting game. With DD and the baby I lost, I didn't get my BFP until the day after my period was due, but I've still tested almost every day since O 😂

Anyone else around the same DPO? Sending baby dust to all those hoping for their BFP soon and congratulations to those who already got theirs ❤️

Hjudge56 · 07/01/2023 09:45

@ANP2020 its really horrible isn’t it! Was your first a girl or boy? I’m roughly 11/12 weeks now and has started to ease off and have a bit more energy which is so relieving! So sorry to hear AF has arrived but fresh cycle and fresh possibilities for you! Xxxx

ANP2020 · 07/01/2023 09:37

@Hjudge56 oh the nausea/ sickness is awful isn’t it! It really stops u from doing anything! I had the same thing when I was pregnant with my first and needed anti sickness tablets (which just made me sleep) but once it eases off it’s so lovely! I know exactly what u mean u go from symptom spotting and hoping! To then worrying during pregnancy and I can assure u my first is 4 and we have all sorts of worries now but very different kinds 🤣 but there’s always something!

m so exciting for your scan!! Let us know how u get on!

so AF arrived in full force for me this morning! But I’m feeling positive finally as I’m starting to feel more human again and ready to face all my new year plans! Diet starts tomorrow!! X
