Hi my periods are normally regular and about 26 to 28 days. My period is about 7 days late and feeling tired and noticed quite sudden watery discharge, assumed was period but no wasn't.

I did a first response early detection today and it's negative, does this mean I'm definitely not pregnant ?

Has anyone else tested negative on an early detection test 7 days late and turned out to be pregnant ?

@Cookie3425 hey, after my previous post, AF came eventually came on day 9 late! Been tracking with Clue app for years & that was first time ever so late, usually clockwork 26/27 day cycles!! Sod’s law, I took 3 tests - on 2 days late; 5 days late; and 8 days late and all BFN, so rang doc and booked appointment - that night AF arrived, disappointing not positive, but relieved still ovulating!! They do say taking test first thing in morning is best for result, try not to drink too much water before so urine not diluted etc… Fingers crossed you get result after soon. Keep us posted!

Hi! I'm on the day AF is due but hasn't shown yet (I hope it doesn't).

I tried to track my ovulation, but I think I somehow missed my peak. However, we have been... Er... Overenthusiastic with hubby lately so there's a good chance that I missed it when it happened, but the sperm didn't.

When I was about 5DPO (according to the app, since I have no idea when my actual ovulation took place) I had mild cramping. On the next day nausea and dizziness started.

I'm really not trying to make up symptoms and symptom spotting has never been harder not to do, since there was no way I could ignore that. I'm still so nauseous at times that I get dizzy and I have increased CM, sorry TMI. I tested today, though, and it was a BFN.

I thought that getting a BFN would make any unreal emotions disappear but all the symptoms are still there and that's driving me crazy! Please tell me I might test tomorrow or the day after and get at least a faint BFP!

Hi
I track my periods well and I use 3 different apps witch help with dates of ovulation and period tracker.

I’m 7 days late showing no signs of my period just done a FR test and came back negative I did take it mid day does this effect the result?

Also how long will be people wait before testing again and how long you would leave it before seeing a Dr?

I'm in a similar position so browsing threads to find out other's experiences... my cycle has been clockwork for years, every 26-28 days max, never this late, as am now - 6 days late and no sign of AF - I thought I had pregnancy symptoms - exhaustion, nausea, cramps, metal taste in mouth, very thirsty, but tested 4 days ago and was negative and again this morning, negative :(... symptoms also not as bad now, feel bit more normal, just no period and no positive test... had Covid booster jab in mid-December so wondering if that is impacting it - and completely fearing it may be start of early menopause as I'm 40 :( really hope not...

@Starlight31 no, I meant that you could potentially ovulated a lot later this month than usual. Just happens sometimes. New vitamins, stress, illness, medications... so let's say you ovulated 10 days later than in previous months, you wouldn't be overdue by now. And tests usually start showing around 12 days past ovulation (sometimes earlier, but after 12dpo the chances of false negative are low).

Yes, some tests can detect pregnancies as early as 6 days before AF. But if you don't know when you ovulated, you don't now when your AF is due (later ovulation means later cycle, as the second phase, luteal phase, is +/- always the same lenght)

@isurvived3under2 no I had all the covid jabs several months ago so it won't be that. Have heard about that happening though

Have you recently had a Covid jab? Mine did that, 5 days late which never happens, pregnancy test was negative.

@Bundaberg84 if it was positive though wouldn't it be showing up now ? These early response ones can detect 6 days early apparently ? I've read about some women saying they didn't test positive for a while though sometimes Confused

I think I normally ovulate about day 12 according to my tracker but don't actually do ovulation tests. My period started on 4th Jan

Hi @Starlight31 - it's very handy to know when you ovulated. If you don't know, as in, you don't track it - it's possible you're not late but just ovulated later than usual.
If you ovulated and didn't get your AF after 21 days, then something def. is going on that needs to be investigated.
Long story short, no, you're not out until AF showed up :)
