Trying for baby number 3

dani9031 · 07/02/2022 13:21

Me and my husband have just started trying for our 3rd baby this month. Probably being a little bit over enthusiastic but just wanted to create a thread for anyone else in the same boat and hoping for a BFP in the next 4-6 weeks 😃

Would be lovely to hear from people hoping for the same outcome very soon!

@MummyMe87 so sorry to hear that, big hugs to you!

I generally only have tested when my period is due but I'm itching to test now, although period is due at the weekend xx

@satelliteheart I only test if my period is around 3 days late. Period due the 19th but will probably test around the 21st if it doesn't show up.

Nothing to report here just wish I could fast forward the next 10 days or so.

Welcome @MummyMe87 sorry to hear about your ectopic 😔
Hope this is your month!

MummyMe87 · 09/02/2022 12:56

@satelliteheart I’m dreadful!! Anything from 8dpo and I’m testing

satelliteheart · 09/02/2022 12:44

Do you all test early every month? I've only ever tested once my period is late

MummyMe87 · 09/02/2022 11:01

Good morning, can I join in please!

I am 35 and have two DS, 7 and 4. I have just completed cycle 3 and on CD2 of cycle 4, expect to ovulate 20th Feb. My cycles are usually 26days, although 25 last month, and 1st cycle was 30 as I had covid so all messed up.

I have just been using cheap ovulation tests, may venture back into CB digital ones again.
My first was unplanned, and 2nd very much planned, took 6 cycles. I did have a pregnancy 18months ago which was unplanned going between cerezette and mirena coil…. It resulted in a ruptured ectopic and I lost my right tube. I’m super anxious about being able to conceive with only one tube.

I take Folic acid, Vit B complex, Zinc and vit D as my TTC vitamins.

Disclaimer. I’m a horrendous symptom spotter and early tester!

Pheepa · 09/02/2022 10:50

I tested this morning at 9DPO and was BFN. I know it's too early really. Feel absolutely fine today, no symptoms at all so feeling a bit deflated. I suppose at least I've not got my hopes up too much for this cycle so hopefully won't be as gutted if it doesn't happen this month. Though no doubt I still will! Going to try and hold off testing until sat 12DPO (which was the original plan)

Holly3 · 09/02/2022 10:44

I'm trying so hard not to symptom spot but also can't ignore the fact I feel absolutely wiped, so bloated and just meh! I'm really not sure which dates to go on, as I had two positive ovulation sticks 5 days apart. It's our anniversary Friday and I was really hoping to tell him then! Anyone else find TTC just all consuming? Xx

dani9031 · 09/02/2022 09:49

@satelliteheart ah hopefully a more expensive test shows up clearer for you! And I agree, some people must be at their wits' end with it all!

@ThatsNotMyMuffin hi 😊 will keep everything crossed you get a positive result soon. It's daunting isn't it, but we will be here for support when/if you need it xx

Joining in please 👋 33 with a nearly 4yo and 1yo. Took a long time to conceive both of them so I'm not overly optimistic but we'd love a third!

satelliteheart · 09/02/2022 08:50

@dani9031 yes, meals out will definitely need to be cut down on here too. I just hate all the unknowns at the moment and not knowing how big of an impact it's going to have. And obviously I'm aware how fortunate we are that we have some financial leeway. I cannot imagine the stress some people are under.

Dh has asked me to pick up a more expensive test so hopefully the result will be clearer. When we first started ttc with dc1 my periods actually completely stopped for 75 days in like a weird stress reaction so I'm worried the same thing is happening now. Which is silly when I wasn't even sure I wanted another one so didn't expect to get so worked up about it my periods would stop again

dani9031 · 08/02/2022 20:44

@satelliteheart hello, the more the merrier! 😊 those are all really valid reasons to worry, I don't think it'd be normal if you didn't with all these uncertainties that are coming in the next few months! We're also financially comfortable too but have said we will cut back on a few non-essentials; Sky being first on the list! We tend to eat out a few times a month too so going to cut back on that too.

If you think your period was due round about now, I'd definitely re-test in the morning, especially with what you've said about the cheapie test! Will keep fingers and toes crossed for you 😃 xx

@HelloNope I'm not sure when I will test. I could ideally test tomorrow as my period is due over the weekend but I know my stomach will drop if it's negative. I try and hold off until my period is officially "late", even if that's only by 12 hours 😂 xx

@dani9031 @Pheepa
Hopefully the pains are implantation pains!
When are you planning to test?

My symptoms this time are different than with DC1&2. With them I just had flatulence! 😅

This time I've had really sore breasts/nipples since around ovulation, they're still sore now, and I had bad acne on my chin when my skin is usually clear. And a weird one TMI but I found my urine to be really smelly! Random. Oh, and fatigue. Going to bed at 9pm everyday.

Good luck ladies, I'm hoping you all get your BFP's soon.

Oh, I caved at told DH. He's happy! I realised he'd suss me out because we usually have a couple of G&T's together in the evening most nights.

satelliteheart · 08/02/2022 19:40

Can I join please. I'm 33 with a 3 year old and 2 year old. This is our first month trying. Dc1 took nine months to conceive, DC2 was first try. I think my period was due yesterday (I haven't actually been tracking as wasn't sure about ttc) and I did one of those cheap dip stick tests today. I think it was negative. But at the bottom where the little line for "max" is, the top layer of paper peeled up a bit and looked like a line was just underneath, but I'm guessing that isn't a positive?

I'm actually so so torn about having another baby. Our two are at such a lovely stage and really play nicely together and I worry about how a third will fit in. I'm also a bit stressed about the finances side. We're ok financially, but with all the doom and gloom at the moment about inflation and cost of living increases and the bloody energy price increase I'm suddenly wondering if we can afford a third if everything else in life is suddenly going to shoot up in price. Anyone else feeling a bit on the fence? This feels like the hardest decision I've ever had to make

allthingssparkly · 08/02/2022 17:24

@HelloNope Congratulations on your lovely news!
Good luck to anyone testing soon ☺️ Not to wish the month away or anything but I do hope it flies by and gives me some good news by the end 🤞

dani9031 · 08/02/2022 16:26

@HelloNope yes definitely keep us updated with how you are and symptoms etc!

I've been feeling a bit crampy today but my period is due in the next couple of days so I'm trying not to get my hopes up that it could be implantation pains, as it's probably just my period xx

OP posts:
Pheepa · 08/02/2022 14:36

@HelloNope you'll have to fill us in on any symptoms you've had the past 2 weeks! I was feeling queasy but that has passed, had fairly sharp stabbing just to the right and underneath my belly button today and yesterday which fits time wise to be implantation pains but don't remember having those with my previous 2. Its probably just trapped wind!

allthingssparkly · 08/02/2022 13:14

@dani9031 The ones I got are £8.99 for 25 Amazon Prime, they have good reviews too!

Holly3 · 08/02/2022 13:12

@dani9031 I also did get my clearblue ones from dr fertility online it's much cheaper! X

dani9031 · 08/02/2022 13:08
@dani9031 oh sorry, it means cycle day 6 ☺️ my cycles are usually 29 days. Are you tracking ovulation? I'm using the PreMom app on my phone and then the Easy At Home Tests from Amazon, you can take pictures of the tests once you've done them and upload to the app, it then tells you test reading so low, high, peak ect it's super handy and I'm hoping it really helps me. My cycles/periods are super regular.
Ah thank you 😊 feel slightly more clued up now! Yeah I'm using an app called ovulation calculator. It's what I used for our 2nd baby but it took us 5 months to conceive, however it did seem pretty spot on, so I'm using it again. I've also been looking at ovulation sticks and had only really heard of the clear blue ones but they are so expensive! I'm going to do some shopping about today when my baby girl decides it's eventually nap time 😂 xx

@HelloNope omg amazing!!! Massive congratulations!!!

Holly3 · 08/02/2022 12:54

@HelloNope

Looks like it's true! I am so excited. I'm thinking of keeping it to myself until Valentine's Day as with DC1&2 I just blurted it out.

Hope it's ok if I stick around :) x

So so exciting!! Huge congratulations ❤️❤️
@dani9031 good luck, ttc baby number 3 also ☺️ just started tracking ovulation this cycle, currently on CD6 today and patiently waiting for my peak 🤭
Hello, good luck to you too! What is CD and then a number? Still getting my head around all of this as I used a tracker app to conceive our 2nd baby xx
