ladylush some women don't have a thermal shift but it's a small percentage - you may be one of those....

ladylush · 26/01/2008 00:24

Oops I meant good luck FYM

bb2b - lp is luteal phase (I didn't know what it was either!). It's the time between ovulation and your next period. For implantation the lp should ideally be at least 10 days.

ladylush · 26/01/2008 00:21

Good luck bb2b Would be a good way to start the weekend.

Any of you experts in this whole FAM thing? Ok, will be really honest. I have the book and I have read lots of it but probably not as much as I should have. I now know that ovulation can be as late as day 21 She says to keep having sex as long as you have fertile looking fluid. Well I have ewcm for the 4th day and no obvious thermal shift, so I guess I should keep trying? Oh god - I'm bloody knackered

FurtivelyPosting · 25/01/2008 23:12

You never know, FYM - I conceived DS after only three weeks of trying and at the grand old age of 37. Fingers crossed for you, ducks; do let us know how you get on.

freddiesyummymummy · 25/01/2008 22:27

ah well first test tomorrow. I expect BFN for two reasons
a) with ds I was 12 DPO before BFP and
b) I don't really expect to catch on cycle 1! I will be really if it was BFP!
Wish me luck girls

Although woth all that BD-ing on holiday you never know

freddiesyummymummy · 25/01/2008 22:23

No judgements on anyone !!! I just find it interesting I think if you had asked my DH the same question before we had DS he would probably have said selective termination - now we have DS, DH is so very very against termination.... I guess it's now that he's seen the realities of pregnancy and babies it's made it more real.

FP - 36.54° cd25 8DPO LP13 (5th cycle)
FYM - 98.3° cd25 9DPO LP13 (1st cycle)

I have a question about LP - what is it exactly? And how do you find out how long it is? I'm a bit lost on the LP front!

The triplets thing is so hard. Having no dc I would obviously keep them and be done with any more but if I already had 1 or 2 dc I'm not sure what I would do. I guess we all come from our own places on this. I was 1 of 4 girls and my parents couldn't really afford (financially or timewise) to have us all. we were all loved but day to day life was such a struggle and I only have a tiny handful of memories where I had time on my own with either parent so I am pretty adamant about never wanting that many.

Like everything else parenting related we can only do the best we can. What a horrid thing to have to go through!

ladylush · 25/01/2008 18:00

Very sad

Ready · 25/01/2008 17:50

I agree. It is a difficult topic, I find the outcome difficult to get my head round, if I am completely honest.
But again, it's not fair for me to judge her. Although I know that I would not terminate in that situation, it is her life and she needs to make the decisions that are right for her and her family. Terribly sad decision to have to make.

ladylush · 25/01/2008 17:32

It's hard for us to be impartial I think - cos we want a baby so much.

Ready · 25/01/2008 17:29

With regards to the thread about the triplets... probably best not to comment, you know, judge not lest ye be judged, but and

Ready/Rah - so sad to see you at the top of the list. Glad to see the disarray in the list brought Ready out to tidy up. Might have to do a bit of messing with it just to keep you occupied.
Rah, are you having another unmedicated cycle?

I can't imagine having 3 - not even one at a time! No idea what my decision would be if I was faced with the same challenge. I think she has been very brave managing to make the decision that was necessary for her family.

Sadly I am back working while at work. Not much money around though so it may run out again soon

ladylush · 25/01/2008 11:46

FYM- wow, I just read that thread. What a rollercoaster. The first instinct I had was yes of course I would keep them all, but there are a lot of considerations aren't there. The risks are greater as the woman gets older, so it's something I've thought about a bit (though twins rather than triplets)plus my maternal grandmother had twins at the age of 36. Plus if she kept them all she could've lost them all iyswim as the pg is more risky. The way I feel now is that one would be a blessing, three would be a triple blessing ......but I think I am biased having lost 3. When you think of the practicalities eg having to move house, cost of childcare, new car etc............I can understand that it would take a lot of consideration!

Ready thanks for the tip have responded!

FP yes I am 9DPO - I'm holding out to test tomorrow... Although I was 12 DPO when I tested positive with DS. LP is 13 days so AF due Wednesday.

ladylush the triplet discussion by the way both DH and I said we wouldn't get a termination in the event of triplets... what do you all think....bit of a theoretical debate I know but I'm interested in peoples views....

ladylush · 25/01/2008 09:45

Ready - it's just a sore throat with green phlegm (sorry if tmi). Feel fine otherwise and don't feel feverish at all.

ladylush · 25/01/2008 09:40

And good luck fp - you are probably testing too early. I've been guilty of it myself many a time!

My chart on ff is confusing. I'm pretty sure I've ovulated but no clear thermal shift (unless the temps I had on fri and sat are unreliably higher due to drinking alcohol the previous night). I suppose that is possible. Will wait til tomorrow to see if temp rises again. It's my first month charting so I suppose it will take a while to get the hang of it.

fym - that woman who was getting selective termination.........was it because they didn't want triplets?

FurtivelyPosting · 25/01/2008 09:36

fym - just had a thought; how long are your cycles usually? do you know when you ovulated? i realised that af might be due for you over the next couple of days - very exciting! when do you think you will test?

morning all. i've been a bit silly and tested - bfn. on one hand, it's too early to test really but on the other, the mild symptoms i was getting have disappeared. i'm expecting af to arrive middle of next week now. i don't think that i'll test again for at least another 4 or 5 days but i probably won't need to. oh well. keeping everything crossed for fym, rattling and ladylush. good luck ladies!!

Morning girls...don;t worry Ready I would have changed this morning if you hadn't!! I am the same obsessive when it comes to things not quite right!

Reflexology was amazing - I have had it before but this was kind of on another level, she covers reiki and indian massage and balance etc so with the fertility balancing she just sort of holds your feet whilst doing the reflexology bit too - I can't believe an hour went by and thought she was cheating me out of time but no - an hour and maybe more went by!!!! Soo relaxing - didn't and don't feel any different maybe a bit more chilled - going next Week then maybe other week...can't wait where as before have dreaded treatments like that again.. will see how it goes - just need to keep dh in the country next week/weekend - which is looking unlikely he said he could fly back for a day ?! I said we are going to have to look at turkey basters soon

Oh my god waffle waffle - must go and get myself and dss ready for school...
