Due to OV today so I have one OPK test in my drawer (I don't normally do them this is left over from ttc#1)- just did it and have two lines - never managed to get one of these to predict ovulation before! I'm so surprised it's untrue.

DH is entered in to the olympic shagathon tonight!!!

emmsy sorry misread - you are 9DPO not 9CD! ignore my comments! but well done!

congrats emmsy I bet you mistook some implantation bleeding for AF - I thought I was having a miscarriage with mine when I was PG with DS.... it can be quite heavy.

Congratulations Emmsy . I guess we'll all be looking out for super high temps now.

Well the shagathon may have to be postponed to next month - you'd think 27 cycles in I'd know when I ovulate, but my temp is up a bit and other signs concur, so I may have ovulated yesterday. Managed to fit in a couple of goes last night, and DH was looking forward to a lot of action on Valentine's day, but the weekend might be a little more relaxed than planned

Have to admit to feeling a bit smug about my virile DH - just a bit that virile doesn't equal fertile

fruitloop hows it going with the temping?
the stats on here are what CD you are, your temp that day and what cycle are you up to (how long have you been trying to conceive)hope this temping business helps you with the pcos X

Emmsy1 · 12/02/2008 20:38

Ready I have only ever reached these temps before when I have been pregnant! I am 9 DPO and tested neg this afternoon, I am going to test again in the morning.(not sure if the AD's have pushed my temp up!)

fym · 12/02/2008 20:36

HI all

nappy I agree... it was way too much and I needed to cut down. My ramble the other evening was my way of getting round to it .....

I keep off the alcohol on the 2ww anyway so cutting down on the other two weeks is a bit easier.....

Anyway after all that I'm going to just have a couple at the weekend....week nights are alcohol free from now on.

fruitloop welcome - We'll add you on asap! although you're on the bottom of the list with a HUGE CD51.

Ready I know what you're saying - I have 3 charts from last time one was a 1st month off the pill chart (so short month) the one month then one preganant chart so I don't have much to go on! Do you adjust your temperatures? I do but was debating it this morning. If i didn't then I was under if I did I'd be over IYSWIM. Well I'm going to continue our shagathon anyway (although we are once a day maximum!! hubby not as young as he used to be rattling

fruitloop79 · 12/02/2008 19:38

Hi girls, Do you mind if I join you? I was gonna wait till my next cycle started but I'm on CD51 now and could be waiting a long time. So, I've started charting my temps on fertility friend - I think I've got the hang of it

I've just been diagnosed with PCOS and trying to come to terms with it. Although I do already have a 2.5 yr old DS so I know it's possible.
I've been referred to see a Gynae at sub-fertility unit at St.Georges in Tooting. Any of you have any experience there?

I've added my chart so far to the chart list thread.
I don't understand your list on this thread so if someone could add me that would be great - I hope you don't mind me inviting myself in!

Ready · 12/02/2008 18:27

Nappy, phew, glad I didn?t offend you? still chuckling at the thought of bursting into teats ? The medical side of things for us has taken a back seat for now. When we moved, we were no longer under the care of the gynae in our old PCT, so now we have to see what we have to do next, but I keep putting it off. I will sort it out, it?s just I am kind of burying my head in the sand. I need to start my new job first, before we even think about assistance ? all the tests came back fine, and the consultant seemed to think it would only be a matter of time, and to come back in 6 months if no joy ? that should have been last month. I think I need a kick up the backside really ? but to be honest, we wouldn?t want to risk going on a list and having to decline treatment because we are not at the right stage in our lives for that ? is any of this making sense? So until we know that we are ready to consider IVF/IUI or whatever then we can?t really push for it.

LondonLottie, hope all is well?

Minxi , perhaps that means I spend far more time than I should on MN ? all that will change when I start my new job, so I will make the most of it now
Sorry that I missed your birthday! But yes, we are Aquarians ? the best sign, you are so right!! Although, I don?t really want to wait long enough to have my own aquarian, I?ll take any sign at this rate
It is amazing how much the thread has grown lately isn?t it, when you think how quiet it went ? pmsl at us leaving first

Ladylush, hope you are ok?

Orchidgirl, There seems to be a big difference between consultants opinions. Mine was quite happy with me charting, and my gp was really impressed with the ff charts that I printed out. She called me ?textbook? ? fat lot of good that has done me ? but I would say just ignore your consultant if charting makes you relaxed. I suspect some of the consultants assume we are not intelligent enough to cope with the science behind ttc

FP, any news from you?? About the house, I think I asked in my last post, but can?t remember

FYM, I know this probably isn?t going to help, but I am inclined to say that it is too soon to tell. Charts are really only helpful when you have been charting for a few months. Some people get the odd wayward temp, and it could be for no reason at all. I?d be inclined to leave the temp out for now (make a note of it). Don?t panic about not enough action (although your chart suggests otherwise ), just keep going for now. In a few days it will be a little clearer, hopefully. Try not to let it stress you out, because then it defeats its purpose, which is to make you feel more in control and relaxed. Hang in there

Rattling John Wayne, how are you coping with the workload Honestly, this is clearly tmi, but I don?t think dh and I have done it more than once in a day since we were early twenties ? I don?t think either of us could cope with twice a day for a week, then, let alone now Gold star - however, if you get your bfp this month, guess what I am doing next month

Clair, I hope so, I would love to get my BFP in my birthday month! That would be something, wouldn?t it!! I don?t do the OPK in the morning, as I read somewhere you need to leave long enough for the hormone to build up (as always, I am happy to be corrected ) ? I usually test about 2-3pm and then 7-8pm ? I have always got my +ves at 2-3pm, usually by 7-8pm it is much more faint a line. Good luck

Emmsy1, still amazed by your high temp!! I have never hit 37 ? I am actually quite Hope you are ok??

Hanaflower, you are quite correct, my 30th year! Thanks for that

Rah, thinking of you flower. Big hugs.

BB2B, hope everything is ok? You are a buffer between me and the bottom of the list ? takes the pressure of

ALL - I can?t tell how many everyone is trying for? and I am nosy, so would you all mind terribly, filling out a bracket at the end of your cycle details? Pweety pweeese

ALL the comment about by hormone levels being low because of my age came from the Infertility Consultant, not me! I think that it is great that many women are able to have children without any problems at later ages. we have only been trying for 18months but the doc said it was a good thing we went for tests when we did. It is a long drawn out trial and error process.

Thanks for all the words of support for both me and my bro.

Looks like there is a lot of shagfests planned for this weekend. Go for it girls.

Clomid day 2 - so far no side effects that I am aware of, it will be really interesting to see the effect on my cycle. First scan is Fri week, so we will know if it is 1 eggy or 2

URBAN MYTH can't remember if I shared this from last scan, but apparently it is a total urban myth that you ovulate from 1 side and then the next. It is a random event which side you ovulate from. This comes from the Fertility Sister who has seen enough women for several months in a row to know! it is also why if you only have 1 ovary, you will still ovulate every month (hopefully). Just thought I would throw that one in!

rattling shag away!! There is definitely something in it. That is our plan too this month. Seemed to work with DS we did it morning and evening for 2 days. Well if the troops are on the low count 2 shags equals 1 normal 1 I think!! Still well done that your boy is game.

ready you did make me laugh. clearly you understand me well!! Glad your birthday was fun and you were properly pampered. I feel for you that in your plan no 2 would be coming along. You never know you might get 2 at once when it happens. Where are you with medical help, i have forgotten?

rah enjoy your month off.

fym sorry gonna have to say that is a lot of alcohol when you add it up. but equally I know how it can happen. I am nore of a beer a night girl, which started when I had got DS down each night as a little bit of me time, and has proved a hard habit to break, although not it is more like every 2/3 night. I have given up completely at the moment, because the clomid instructions say nothing about drinking, so I am playing it safe! There is lots of speculation about safe levels of alcohol. Personally I would say don't worry about the 2ww, but I would stop once you know you are pregnant an then from about 13 weeks if you miss it too much, maybe the 1 glass wine/bottle of beer 2/3 times a week. I would also be worried about the effects of alcohol on DHs swimmers too! . Sorry if I am lecturing not meaning to!

orchidgirl sorry you have had a rough old ride. I thought ICSI was more reliable than IVF (about getting the eggs fertilized at any rate) if that is any help? Also If it is any consolation my consultant actually recommends TCOYF and Fertility Friend and temping as it gives a clearer picture. They have print outs of my charts in my file. I take them in each scan. Maybe they just do it to humor me, but I am comforted by a better understanding of what is going on. I also think it decreases stress, as once your temp has gone up, you might as well relax.
