Thread 13 was very joyful and very painful for me, but what it has shown me is that even old warhorses like me can get lucky, so there's no excuse for all you nubile young honies not to deliver the goods! Come on now, Mama Hester expects you to do your duty by your fellow ttc-ers

Hi muppet, sorry about losing your baby. I can sympathise ive had 2 m/c.
I was advised to wait for 3 periods before trying again and we did.
Luckily it was ok.
There were times when we thought that we would never be allowed to have a baby and we were desperate. The foetal assesment unit was situated at the end of the maternity ward which was just devastating each time we were given our news.Coming out to the sound of crying babies and heavily pregnant ladies just felt like our noses were bieng rubbed in it.
This must be unbearable for you, working on one.
I dont have practical advice, im sorry but i do have reassuring words for you. Dont give up, dont feel negative and believe that you will hold your own baby in your arms one day soon.
Think about "this time next year..." i will either be pregnant or holding my baby, think ahead.
Although you will never ever forget your little one, and you will continue to count the weeks that "should have been" focus on bieng well and prepare for your baby.

he he, right then where to begin (with a nasty grin on the face, lets find out the gen on OV!) he he he

First things first, u can check your temprature with one of the thermometer things, and also fertility friend.

You can also check the positioning of your cervix

theres also the whole CM thing, which many of us have great delight in sharing with everyone else! lol, egg white type CM is v fertile so get and do some BD!

Not sure about ovulation before period - could be what happened the first time I got pregnant as I was due period on my wedding day June 5th and didn't have it and then pregnant by 26th June.

Maybe off the pill this is a usual cycle for me ????

Get off home if you haven't already I know how addictive this is !!

PS. Yes you could ovulate before you get a period. Do you know about how to detect ovulation? if you have a strong stomach, you can find out all about it on here! I really, really must dash now or I'm going to be beheaded when I get home, but if nobody gives you all the info before I get back in the morning, I can give you chapter and verse then!

hiya MM, can't really help out there, but we do have lots of folks like urself thou. the OV kits can be quite handy could well be worth a go, but i'm sure someone else will have better advise for u.

best of luck thou, we're all baby crazy on here as well! lol, but v supportive with it!

Hi muppetmentality (too long! can we call you muppet? or mm?!). You're very welcome to this thread; you'll find everyone is lovely and accepting here and EVERYONE will be nice to you. I'm supposed to have walked out of the door already, but will post quickly and I'm sure the evening crowd will be along soon.

First of all, I'm so sorry to hear about your miscarriage. I miscarried a few weeks ago and I know how terribly painful it is. big hugs for that.

I'm sure your doctor is right that your cycle is still settling down, but if it was me I'd be back there asking for more detail (how long should it take?) and maybe asking for a referral to a specialist.

Also, have you tried seeking advice from the Miscarriage Association?

It must be very difficult for you with your sister expecting; of course you're happy for her but it just reminds you of your loss. You'll find lots of women on here who will understand how that feels.

Hi I'm new to this thread - hope you all don't mind !

I'm TTC with no success.

Has a miscarriage on August 23rd at 8 weeks + 2. Did not need a D&C (or ERPC whatever they call it these days) Passed it all 23rd August evening after my routine scan that morning.

Had one period 6 weeks after miscarriage which started 30th September and have had nothing since - did a test yesterday which was negative.

Seen GP and he said it's normal - has anyone else had similar problems ??

Makes matters worse I work as a physio on the maternity ward and so see loads of babies and happy mums every day.

And my sister is expecting her first baby in 2 weeks and so the whole family is baby mad at the moment.

Is it worth doing ovulation tests to see if I am ovulating despite my lack of periods.

I'm 28 and husband is 24. Both desperate for a baby.

Anyone got any advice what we should do ?

Been mesmerised by all the other threads and can;t help reading them for hours.

Summoned up courage to add an entry - so please be nice to me

rantus, can't u ask to be refered to a specialist (they'll prob have a waiting list anyhow)? fingers crossed u can start the clomid soon thou.

jeddah - yes, just using my Christmas name My chart does suggest that OV may have been around CD17 to me too. We will see I guess.

Had a look at your chart.......like geordie I think you may have ov on day 17!!!! (don't forget ff is automated!

I would test friday morning....then you will know if you can 'lorry load' or not!!!!!

And I have just replied! how funny that we are having a simultaneous conversation on two different media.

But I have to rush now - it's gone 7 and I need to go home. Just to let you all know that I have seen jeddah's wedding photos and she is a bit gorgeous - not at all bad for a broody old mare!

Hi Mikeyjon. Sorry, i really don't know what is going on - and I wouldn't want to hazard a guess, given your unusual obstetric history. Was the doctor you saw a specialist? If not, I would go back to your GP and insist you get referred to someone who can really explain what's going on.

it's a side issue, but I'm not sure how your doc can be so sure that you've only ovulated twice. Sounds a bit like my gran who likes to insist that she's only had sex 11 times in her life - which I guess is the fewest you can get away with when you've had 11 children

hi, you all seem to know a little about periods and stuff.... i've never had periods, the doctor said that i dont ovulate (but ive got 2 kids - he says that i must have ovulated twice and caught both times) last week i started to bleed and it lasted for a week, was quite painfull but know ive been feeling sick for the last couple of days... did a test 2 weeks ago and it was negative. am not sure whats going on..... any ideas?

well this af after this bizarre 2 week of mine is SO heavy, aurgh! and wierd. I don't understand it. sigh.

No sign still but if I did OV then I'd only be 13DPO. From past experience I don't think anything would show up until after 14DPO at least, and then first thing in morning. But you're right - can't think of anything else today!

Blimey you lot have been chatting since I was last here! A new bfp if I am reading it correctly - well done Oops!

Another BFN for me today, now on cd54....can you believe it?? There was me all pleased with myslef for getting Clomid prescribed so early, fat lot of good it's doing me in the sodding cupboard!
Been to the Dr's again today and guess what - I'm a medical marvel apparently! All very nice but not too helpful on the old baby making front. He basically doesn't know what is going on or what to tell me, so he needs to speak to an 'expert' on fertility and call me back.......darn it!

surprisingly hester...dried fruit seems to be helping with the choc

it's 2 (?) weeks to xmas...depressing...we'll all be feeling more excited in another 10 days or so.

however I feel a mega choc binge approching..esp if af shows this w/e
