Here we go! Thread 14 for the nicest bunch of women on Mumsnet

Thread 13 was very joyful and very painful for me, but what it has shown me is that even old warhorses like me can get lucky, so there's no excuse for all you nubile young honies not to deliver the goods! Come on now, Mama Hester expects you to do your duty by your fellow ttc-ers

Get ready now, 1 - 2 - 3, GO!!!

omg - I just thought I'd pop in & see how everyone was doing & blimey, we're a sad bunch! I've just watched "who rules the roost" - only seen it once b4 'cod not dh's cuppa, but he's out...

omg, the wife was so awful - she is a nurse & yet in the shots, she hasn't even belted up her dd in the car. I was gob smacked. She spent the whole 2 weeks she was at home shouting at them, moaning about how it did her head in, snapping at them, telling them to "shut up" "go away" "I don't like you" etc etc I was soooooo she had 4 lovely kids (well, 3 of them seemed lovely anyway yet she was sooooooooo ungrateful.

anyway, just hold on to how great the moment will be when those 2 lines appear. and they will.

sweet dreams

Off to toddler kindy today to have it sung to him AGAIN AGAIN and AGAIN......

colinsmommy · 25/11/2004 21:32

Happy birthday, Tania's DS. How old is he?

munnzieb · 25/11/2004 20:56

hula, we've told everyone just about i think in the family, mainly as it will be first grandchild on both sides, first great grandchild etc... (all i've had since is the storys... not nice when your dad tells you how hard it was to concieve yourself /brother!)

Tania - In the spirit of our family tradition....

Happy birthday to you, Happy birthday to you, Happy birthday dear tania's DS!! Happy birthday to you, he he i'll let you sing it to him for us girls!

munnzieb · 25/11/2004 20:52

((((((((hugs))))))))))) jeddah, sending you big hugs, It's not ur clients fault, I bet they wern't even tryin?! I'll be sending you all the baby dust I can muster up! dust (don't know how to do the little thingy) pour your self a glass of wine hon, and we'll sit and put the world to rights, hopefully you'll be getting more than a selection box in your stocking this year! and there was a lady in america I think it was a few weeks back, 58 or something and she had twins, both healthy, (not saying you need wait that long but it ain't over till u've exhausted all options!)

One of the girls over the way, she has PCOS I think that's the abbr. any how, he had all sorts of operations etc..... and after 8 yrs of trying, the drs have said she'll never have cvhildren, it's impossible - she didn't have AF or anything during that time, but low and behold the old bag went and turned up! I don't think i've met anyone so happy to see their period! but it can happen, you just need to have hope! (maybe it's a naieve view but you'll get there!)

Tania2 · 25/11/2004 20:40

Good morning girls.
We all sound very glum today this ttc thing really does do our heads in but if it didnt then i suppose that would mean that we really didnt want it bad enough.
CD11 here (i think?) asked dh to bd last night and got rejected then he said he would wake me this morning but i woke up when he was leaving for work really not having much success this month think that we are subconciously (sp?) having a break FROM SEX!!! had a little of cm this morning so just rang dh and asked if he was going to be home today while ds was sleeping and if we could have SUCCESSFUL sex IYKWIM he agreed and got excited.
I was trying to say away from this thread too last week but i couldnt help but lurk around every now and then i really felt like i was deserting my friends in time of need iykwim. Hope you are all feeling alittle better.
My little mans birthday today determand to have a happy day today all about him!!!!

Hulababy · 25/11/2004 19:42

That's so hard Last time when I was TTC both a good friend and DH's cousin fell pg immediately; one withou trying at all as such. I'd been trying for over two years with the mc too - I just fell to pieces both times |(in private of course)

You know, I think the think that makes it hardest is the whole secrecy bit. The fact that no one knows so you don't talk about it. Thankfully I have here this time round. Last time I had just me and DH. Sure it'd be easier in some ways if it was something people just chatted about.

At least on here we can all share our highs and lows, and gee each other along. WE WILL GET THERE!

jeddah · 25/11/2004 19:34

Hi girls...really friggin pissed off!!!!
went to see a client today....who has a ds of 16 months, she decided she wanted another and it has taken her 3 weeks!!!!!!! 3 BLOODY WEEKS! she knew I was trying...so was reluctant to tell me....true bloody right!!!!

Its so unfair!!!! munnzieb...wish I could have a break for a while but I am 41 and haven't got that luxury....if I was 5-10 yrs younger I would...so enjoy the break if you decide.

sorry moschops, pooka and oops....for the BFN!!!!! Its so sole detroying!

Hula......honey every month is like a year to us all, irrespective of how long we have all been ttc...so honey we understand why you feel the way you do ........ if I had a baby I would drive to your house and drop off 40,000 big black bin bags full of babydust!

You are all so lovely I'm fine - just fed up, but I should look at this way I guess - next month would be much better work wise as I could then start my mat leave on the first day back after the school 6 week's holiday. Much better time off wise I know.

Take care everyone. Let's hope we all get our Christmas wish!

hester · 25/11/2004 18:31

Hula, it must have taken great courage and determination to get through what you went through. You really deserve to have an easier time with your next baby - I hope it happens for you soon. Big hugs xx

Hi Hula, sorry you're feeling down. Thinking of you and everyone else on here.

munnzieb · 25/11/2004 18:22

well, it's what we do us girls init, I get rather disheartened when ppl concieve and they were only trying for a few weeks and then say 'oh it was terrible' and you just want to show how do u bloody know!

Hulababy · 25/11/2004 18:18

It so downheartning isn't it? Took DD 15 months to be conceived. And that was after an earlier 15 months which resulted in an early m/c. Not sure I can cope with all that stress and upset again...

...but I guess I will and we are luckier than some I know.

munnzieb · 25/11/2004 17:54

well hula, I think if I don't concieve in by june ish next year, (will have been off the pill for 14 months by then) then i'll stop for a while and see how things go. It's depressing thou seeing AF turn up each month.

Hulababy · 25/11/2004 17:48

Not just me feeling a misery then! We'll get there Take care.

geordie · 25/11/2004 17:47

((hula)) ditto...hence why I'm not posting much thinking of you...

Hulababy · 25/11/2004 17:44

Hi all; CD24 here so all is quite. Actually seem to be feel;ing a bit fed up regarding all this TTc this past few days Think it all stems from using FF and it deciding that it hasn't been able to detect OV this month for me. Just feeling like "well, that's a wasted month then isn't it? kind of thing. Really feel scared that it's all going to take months and months again - I really don't want to be here (in the nicest possible sense ) this time next year

Sorry - shouldn't moan I know. I know that it's only month 3 this time round and nothing to worry about. I keep telling myself then these past 3 or 4 days anyway.

Thanks so much, kizzy. Yes, everyone on here has been lovely to me, but tbh it still hurts loads and it's lovely to have you thinking of me

pooka - so sorry. But it ain't over till the fat lady...

Bella - if I were you I'd test now, or at least tomorrow morning. Not that I'm advising that necessarily, and I'm sure patience is a virtue, but by the due date I always reckon that a BFN will at least stop me going crazy tormenting myself, and a BFP - well, that of course would be lovely! Good luck

munnzieb · 25/11/2004 17:06

afternoon ladies, how was evey one's day today?

ernest - have you tested yet hon?

becki - You have more will power than me not to test !

nothing to report this end, apart from am hoping DH sends me some flowers again this month!, Oh and i'm feeling particually broody today..... is that normal around the time of AF? - the old witch is due in 5 days.

kizzy212 · 25/11/2004 15:48

I was going to try and hold off until Saturday so that I am at least 2 days late.
May be put in a straight jacket by then though as am desperate to test!

ernest · 25/11/2004 15:02

hi bella -I think you can test from today, but as other have said, you should try & do it about 14 days post ov. hth

no news from me - still no af - 1 week late now. must still be all over the place after giving up mini pill, but am genuinely surprised.

hope you're all well

Bella23 · 25/11/2004 14:50

Apologies as still in self obsessed mode of waiting for AF to arrive!
If my AF was due today when is the earliest I can do a test?
