Here we go! Thread 14 for the nicest bunch of women on Mumsnet

Thread 13 was very joyful and very painful for me, but what it has shown me is that even old warhorses like me can get lucky, so there's no excuse for all you nubile young honies not to deliver the goods! Come on now, Mama Hester expects you to do your duty by your fellow ttc-ers

Get ready now, 1 - 2 - 3, GO!!!

munnzieb · 27/11/2004 14:40

((hugs)) morningpaper as well, sorry about the BFN, until AF shows thou, it could well just be too early for testing. (rays of hope flickers thru)

morningpaper · 27/11/2004 14:30

cd 24 here. HPK says BFN.

Stupid game.

Still, at least I'll be able to eat a christmas meal without throwing it up. Although we have planned a quiet xmas because we thought I might be pg.

Do you tell your DH's about early HPTs? I don't because I feel like I don't want him to be going mad as well...

moschops · 27/11/2004 14:15

Tania2 · 27/11/2004 14:13

Moschops iam glad you got to have a daddy
Think its time for me to go to bed iam really tired and if i dont go to bed soon i will run out of tears its 1:12am here i must be nuts ds will wake me a 7am.
Good night girls and thanks for being here for me when i needed a good sook. xx

moschops · 27/11/2004 14:05

Tania we have similar backgrounds on that one. my dad left when i was a baby and mum and i moved back in with grandma and grandad, lived with them till i was three. grandad was always softer with me than any of the other grandchildren, and my grandma still calls me her special one.

never seen my dad since, but as far as i'm concerned my dad is the man my mum married when i was four.........

BeckiF · 27/11/2004 14:05

Thanks for your thoughts re. my possibility, I am aware that there is a very teeny-weeny chance, but there IS a chance, so I'll cling to that until af turns up to slap me in the face.

Christmas is always a time for relection and for missing those that have gone before us. Remember them with love in your heart and a smile on your face, our tears are for our own pain and feeling of loss. I like to project the feeling that although I miss those departed I am happy to think of them in a happy and wonderful place.

Take heart all xxx

RudyDudy · 27/11/2004 14:04

Tania - I'm glad that you will be together to support each other through what will undoubtedly be such a difficult time. My thoughts are with you.

Tania2 · 27/11/2004 13:58

Thanks RudyDudy, Yes we will be having lunch together.
we lived with my grandparents when i was 2 till about 9 when my mum left my dad and i never saw my dad since so my grandfather was my dad iykwim.

Tania2 · 27/11/2004 13:56

BeckiF thinking of you it must be hard coming up to the one yr mark my grandfather past in March he was very sick but never really thought that he would pass i miss him so much.

RudyDudy · 27/11/2004 13:55

((((tania)))) thinking of you. I bawl my eyes out every time I watch a film where someone dies Christmas is such a wonderful time but such a difficult time as it is bursting with reminders of people you love but can't be with. Will you be with your grandmother?

RudyDudy · 27/11/2004 13:52

hi all

(((hugs))) to all feeling low and especially to your DP moschops. It's so hard when people just don't think about what they're saying. I've heard sooo many people say "oh, I don't really know how it happened, it was a complete surprise" that I just don't believe them anymore. How cynical is that?

fingers crossed for you becki - sounds like the most positive news you've had for a while. I really hope there's more good news for you soon.

don't envy you all that DIY munnzie! We had a bit of a late night and one too many bottles of wine so I'm off for a nap whilst DS is sleeping. DH agreed this morning that we will aim to bd every day for the next 10 days so I need to get some rest!

thanks for the babydust moschops.

Tania2 · 27/11/2004 13:51

Thanks BeckiF and moschops i must be really tired iam really having a good cry tonight been watching Hope Floats and her mum has just died and now iam balling. feel so silly.

moschops · 27/11/2004 13:48

hug for you too becki ((becki))

moschops · 27/11/2004 13:47

hey Tania. have a hug (((tania)))

i know how you feel. my grandad died 13 years ago and sometimes i still cry. the smallest thing will set me off, and i suddenly feel like i need him here. to be honest one of the worst christmases i had without him was my first one with dp when i suddenly really understood what my grandmother had lost.

hope it comforts you to know that right at this very moment in time, all the way on the other side of the world i am thinking of you xx

i am keeping myself occupied by tidying. doing all those niggly jobs that i never do (you know, the laundry right at the bottom that never gets done!!)

BeckiF · 27/11/2004 13:44

Hi Tania, I lost my grandad last November and my Nanna this May. I miss them both very much, so I understand how you feel.

Tania2 · 27/11/2004 13:24

Where is everyone its nearly 12:30am here iam up watching a late night movie and keep popping in to see if anyone is about
Just had a big cry have only just realized that this will be my first xmas without my grandfather (whom was more like my father) Just really feel for my grandmother cant even imagine what she will be going through on xmas day.
Sorry for the sad note just needed to talk to someone about it.

Tania2 · 27/11/2004 12:06

I would rather be cold. The only things i like about summer is DS can play outside (if its not too hot) the BBQ's and drinks with friends on a warm summer night thats what we did tonight and ds just played outside till 10pm just loved it. Just hate it when its too hot to go outside cause you burn to a crisp and there is no releaf from the heat eg NO BLOODY AIRCON!!!
Jeddah you really have done everything havent you iam soo envious I have never traveled havent even been to Queensland What aussie hasnt been to QLD
Moschops pls dont feel lonley as jed said we are here

BeckiF · 27/11/2004 12:06

Morning...Fertility Friend has finally decided that I may of ovulated 9 days ago and has given me a proper chart! We bd at the right time, apart from ovulation day, but it still gives us a score of 'good' ... I am more than positive that we won't be lucky but there is that enormous 1% chance still in my mind. Will keep you posted as it is prompting me to test on day 18 which is a week on Tuesday.

munnzieb · 27/11/2004 12:04

tania..... do u think u could send some of your heat over to us?, it's piddleing it down in wales, and v v cold as well. (not quite enough for snow thou!)

munnzieb · 27/11/2004 12:03

((hugs)) moschops, arn't dog really a womans best friend, (our two are more mine that DH's!)

Jeddah - the persona is already for me to just press the 'm' buttom, which I have no doubt i'll be doing on tuesday, i need to get some sticks, but i think i'll go to boots instead of buying on line.

jeddah · 27/11/2004 11:56

Tania ....its bloody freezing here!!!!
You stick it out for the aircon, I lived in the middle east for 7 years and the only thing that kept me there was aircon!!! (and the money!)

Thanks oops!

munnzieb......the persona is going well! Much better than OPKs as the machine does it all for you! Cd14......not OV yet but I usually OV cd13-cd22....so still waiting. Did you re-set it ok?? is it all ready to go?

Moschops.....don't feel lonely......we are all here with you!! My dh has gone out in the fields working all day....not back until 6pm tonight.Walking to the village at 2pm with mother-in -law to the village school fate>>>>>.ooooooh how exciting!

moschops · 27/11/2004 11:39

hi Tania......there's you too hot and here's me too cold!! lol

had a good meal last night, but dp was upset by comments from one of our friends. i wasn't in the room when they were said or i'd have kicked off!! he kept saying to our other friend 'maybe you should give him some hints on how to get his missus pg'. my dp and other friend just looked at each other in amazement. he's a really good friend but had too much to drink and was insensitive.

anyway i brought lots of babydust to sprinkle on this thread. my friend is blooming!! only 8 weeks to go........

xx~~xx~~xx~~xx~~

feeling a bit lonely today, dp gone back into the studio for the day think i'll go and hug the dog x

Tania2 · 27/11/2004 11:33

Sorry make that at least 11 days till af so i should bd tonight just in case...Shit we have only bd twice this month that is awlful poor dh but we have just been so tired. If i fell pg this month i think dh would think i was having an affair actually so would i [confused face icon]

Tania2 · 27/11/2004 11:28

Good morning girls,
CD 13 here dont think i have ov this month and its really getting too late in my cycle to ov now as i would be due for af in about 7-8 days so even if i ov today that would be too short wouldnt it?
Anyway really keen to start the diet next week and start walking....if the weather isnt so bloody hot. Just had a fight with dh about getting an airconditioner he wants us to tough it out for another summer but i hate the heat and since we have done some reno's (knocked out a wall to make it open plan living) the living area is so much hotter as the sun beams in the lounge window all arvo. Bugger need some releaf here tooo hot.....
Hope everyone is well.
