Here we go! Thread 14 for the nicest bunch of women on Mumsnet

Thread 13 was very joyful and very painful for me, but what it has shown me is that even old warhorses like me can get lucky, so there's no excuse for all you nubile young honies not to deliver the goods! Come on now, Mama Hester expects you to do your duty by your fellow ttc-ers

Get ready now, 1 - 2 - 3, GO!!!

Miaou. If he wasn't such a nice, reasonable guy, that is exactly what I might do, but since he's so nice about it . . .

I just worry it will take a long time and by then he will change his mind. He has no problems using one later if we can't concieve. Maybe what I need to do is go back to my ob/gyn and see what she has to say about my situation and if she has any advice. In fact, I'll go call now.

Kizzy, your post has made me laugh.

munnzieb · 30/11/2004 21:42

kizzy, DH seems to be able to 'hit the spot' as it were when he know's i'm OV, i think he uses the term 'it's like knocking at the door!) to be crude, but at least it's in the right area!

morningpaper · 30/11/2004 21:40

Yingers74: my dh dreads it too! So much pressure!

kizzy212 · 30/11/2004 21:39

sorry to but into conversation. i ovulated sat i think by my working out. so dh knows its past and guess what!!! hes as horny as ever today.... typical male right??

kizzy212 · 30/11/2004 21:38

is it just me, or do men last a lot long when they know your ovulating. my dh is really finding it difficult.... lol i shouldnt laugh but we are finding it hard to do it and concentrate and end up laughing. it is only first month TTC...

Miaou · 30/11/2004 21:28

On second thoughts maybe you would feel it was dishonest...think before you post, Miaou

Miaou · 30/11/2004 21:26

CM, could you do it discreetly? Eg register on fertility friend and monitor your temperature (OK, if he doesn't get up before you this could be a little tricky), then just make sure you get him in the mood at the right time of the month? Not used OPK sticks, but again I think you could monitor discreetly without being in his face about it being the "right time". Just a thought.

colinsmommy · 30/11/2004 21:07

He thinks its great, but we haven't been trying for all that long. He doesn't want anything to do with anything that monitors ovulation yet, as he feels that would turn him into a baby machine, but if we have no luck after awhile, then he is open to trying that. That really frustrates me, though, as I was told that I would have difficulty TTC long ago, but on the other hand DS was concieved while I was on birth control. He thinks that we will have no problems, and I am left wondering if that is so, or is DS my "miracle" baby.

yingers74 · 30/11/2004 20:57

my poor dh, even when he comes back late from work and is tired, I am like ' ready for baby sex', yes very sexy

munnzieb · 30/11/2004 20:55

oooh DH is (was) enjoying the extra bd! lol, I told him when it was my days etc... as he double checked everything! lol, he did make a comment once about me only wanting him for his spearm, but it was said jokingly so he's ok.

Hulababy · 30/11/2004 20:46

Managed so far to not really let on to DH when the "right" time is, whilst also trying to make sure that we do BD around the right time more than normal.

yingers74 · 30/11/2004 20:44

hello everyone,

what does your dh/dp think about baby sex? I think my poor dh dreads it! All in a good cause so I don't mind!

Hulababy · 30/11/2004 20:17

marinda · 30/11/2004 20:13

Hulababy · 30/11/2004 19:48

sorry about your news Velcrobott.

alterego · 30/11/2004 19:46

Sorry to hear your news velcrobott.
Thanks for the info jeddah.

velcrobott · 30/11/2004 19:33

Well a bit of bad news for me....
Had a meeting with GP and all my tests results... she now thinks it is pre-menopause.... but she is writing to consultant gynae to see if there is more we can do/discover.
She did say that I coud still ovulate but who knows when.
She also said that pre-menopause is still quite mysterious/misundersood. I mean I just turned 37 !

On the positive I have 2 lovely kids and until recently that's all that I wanted so really should not feel bad. I am very lucky !

I had someone do a womb massage on me this AM (it can help in some cases)... it will be intersting if it brings results... quite interestingly I had a reflexology treatment later on and the reflexologist found my uterus very very different/unusual and I hadn't told her about the womb massage .I told her afterwards.... weird !

Hulababy · 30/11/2004 19:16

jeddah - yesterday or today. Today is CD29. I have has a 28 day cycle and a 27 day cycle before this. I'm pretty sure I have AF symptoms though - just frustrating waiting for it.

Way to go ooops, great news !

Welcome to Cokenzie, Greenbug and Mikeyjon, don't worry about coming on and joining in, all welcome here, best wishes to you all +++++*+

{{{{{{{{hugs}}}}}}}} to everyone who has been feeling down, lol x x x

CD7 here and feeling fairly relaxed, dh doing all the worrying for us this month, so not thinking about it all too intensely - great news in that my days off and annual leave that I've been made to use up will all fall over fertile time so at least I'll be at home each night and not sleeping in at work.

munnzieb · 30/11/2004 18:33

god, fingers crossed for u thou hon. just keep bd!

mikeyjon · 30/11/2004 18:04

munnzieb - have never been on the pill properly, took it a few times half heartedly when i was 16 (im 21 now) but didn't have periods even before that. doctor suspects pcos but i don't have any of the other symptoms. the doctor thinks that i may ovulate once a year or something like that and have just been really lucky in getting pregnant. not likely to happen again though

munnzieb · 30/11/2004 18:01

hi all, will read thru after t and see what's happening, hi to the new guys posting, good luck.... god i need internet access at work! lol.
