Soooo....@Minster2012 is letting the lunatics take over the asylum as she's handing over the driving seat to the passengers and having a well deserved rest after driving us around since June 2020!

I'm sure she'll still be around and you can follow her on Instagram (Minstermusings) where a lot of passengers and ex-passengers have their own TTC or normal accounts too (just be careful not to out anyone on their non-TTC accounts!)

@lakejupiter that's so interesting! And what a journey 🤗let's hope the TTC bit isn't too long then

@Somatronic I def think you can get them from boots

Somatronic · 18/01/2022 11:54

Had my monthly thyroid bloods done this morning. It took an hour, 4 veins, lots of digging around with needles and 2 nurses. Ouch!

I think I'm going to invest in one of those little cups. Might make the difference! I'll have a look online later. Did ye get them online?

lakejupiter · 18/01/2022 10:03

@paintfairy god bless vibrators tbh! If anyone is interested I have the Satisfier Pro 2 and it's an absolute legend 😂 no I don't have a partner at the moment - was engaged to a woman and planning to do this with her in my late 20s & early 30s and then life happened and it all sort of fell apart so I made the (at first difficult) decision to try and find a coparent when I was 34. My coparent is in a similar position. I was fully expecting not to find anyone, and to end up going the sperm donor route, so I feel really lucky. We met on the coparenting website but have a lot of spooky connections including same career, same interests, similar tastes, mutual friends and various other things, and he's as committed to and excited by the baby thing as I am, so I feel very lucky. It's not how I expected my life to go and there are definitely practical and emotional hurdles, but so far there's a lot of love and quite a few laughs.

paintfairy · 18/01/2022 09:55

@lakejupiter ah OK. So you don't have a partner at the moment? That makes sense- the vibrator thing. Because at first I thought it was your other half and I was like- you are having a baby (hopefully) and they will be there for the birth, so a vibrator noise is the least of your issues! 🤣 No, I'd feel awkward a friend hearing me sorting myself out with a vibrator! In fact I'd feel weird maybe if DH did (if it was alone time and he wasn't involved). I use one all the time with him though, can't finish without! So using it together is no issue. TMI. 🤣

lakejupiter · 18/01/2022 09:31

@Minster2012 luckily I am pretty regular with cycles and ovulation within a 2 day window, although I ovulated late this month 😤 so we only managed to inseminate before my peak. It's gonna be interesting but luckily I am quite flexible at the moment as I work for myself. And we are both pretty dedicated to the cause now we have finally started TTC so have made it a priority.

Thanks everyone for the reassurance about my GP. Part of me was convincing myself he was right and I was in denial about my weight and PCOS stuff so glad to have the vindication!! I will def complain about him once I've officially moved practices.

lakejupiter · 18/01/2022 09:14

@paintfairy he's my coparent - not partner or sperm donor. We are both gay. We met on the coparents website about two years ago and are very good friends :)

larrythelizard · 18/01/2022 09:10

Stories like yours fuck me right off @lakejupiter - as if that sort of attitude would help you lose weight (if that's what you needed to do) - why not be knowledgable and supportive about nutrition and exercise?! Or point you to some resources that are?!

Oh that's not ideal @MrsBiddy - my lady company did rounds and rounds of that and they always had more volunteers than they needed (good pensions, generally men who were mid 50's and the enhanced payout would see them through to claiming their pensions at 60) so try not to worry (I have trained myself to only worry about things I can control - it works maybe half the time?!)

paintfairy · 18/01/2022 09:04

@lakejupiter I'm really confused. Confused You might have to explain. 🤣
You mention a co-parent but then speak like he is your partner? So I can't work out what your system is? Is it your partner you can't use a vibrator in front of? Or a sperm donor? (The latter makes sense).
And yeah there is the upsuck theory but no, wouldn't have made a jot of difference to me. Didn't even when the hospital physically shoved it in my womb. 🙄🤦‍♀️🤣

feliznavidad2 · 18/01/2022 08:12

@lakejupiter what everyone else says... hate to think what your GP would think of my 30+ BMI. 😒

Juno231 · 18/01/2022 07:42

Just popping in. I'm a big fan of evening primrose oil for ewcm @BellatrixK

Also a big believer in upsuck and always try to orgasm post BD. Won't have made any difference in my case though!

@lakejupiter I second what everyone else is saying that your GP is a dick. Fyi was told just yesterday how my BMI of 26 is "great!" so I can't imagine 27 being abysmal FFS.

Minster2012 · 18/01/2022 07:31

Yep def same here @MrsBiddy but it takes some practice!

Totally understand you not wanting him to hear the vibrator @lakejupiter 😬 nor listening to music at a pivotal time that makes you sad! Gosh I can imagine the distance adding a lot of admin, does the pcos make you irregular too? That won't help I bet 🙄

MrsBiddy · 17/01/2022 22:14

@Minster2012

Sorry to hear about your mc ❤️ oh wow, that's good news!! I can't wait to try it, I have seen good reviews but I'm going to stay calm lol

Yes! I totally understand lake spermo, I call it the sperm canyon always never stays in and I end up (tmi) with a patch on the bed 😫 Duno if it's just me 😂

lakejupiter · 17/01/2022 21:57

Yes @Minster2012 we have it playing so we can both hear it (and not hear each other/give each other more privacy. The idea of him hearing the vibrator is somehow incredibly embarrassing to me despite us being close and me having put his sperm in me a few times!) Through trial and error (accidentally put some songs on it at first that made me think of my mum and ended up crying lol - not the vibe) we went with a lot of vintage R&B, lowfi hip hop and general ambient music. We live in separate cities at the moment but hoping to change that in the long term - the distance adds a lot of admin! Lake spermo 😂 I'm so sorry about your MC but happy the cup worked for you and that you are pregnant ❤️

Minster2012 · 17/01/2022 21:50

A cute playlist @lakejupiter do you have it playing so you both can hear it for ah hem, the squirting? (Him then you?!) the grapefruit juice helped me def. Admin heavy TTC 😂it would be! Does your coparent live close?

@Somatronic I just took one a day til OV

@MrsBiddy ha ha ive been having conversations on here about fertili & how it stopped my lake spermo woes. I got pregnant the first or second cycle using it in April, (MC) then used it again going forwards & def helped for this pregnancy. We are rubbish at keeping sperm inside me in this house (or I have a cave for a minge, or both)

MrsBiddy · 17/01/2022 21:47

@lakejupiter
I know ttc shouldn't be this hard 😩

Plus work are asking people for volunteers for enhanced redundancy ☹️ before they make compulsory redundancies😞

All stress/worry I don't need 😩

I might practice before ovulation then xx

lakejupiter · 17/01/2022 21:36

@MrsBiddy I did use Ferti Lily this round (first cycle TTC for me) and I have to say I have heard amazing things! I did have to practice putting it in a lot and I def fucked it up the first time we used it but it was recommended to me for home inseminations and if nothing else it gave me a lot of peace of mind in the few hours after inseminations. I put it in straight after and usually wore it for the rest of the evening until bedtime.

lakejupiter · 17/01/2022 21:33

@MrsBiddy sorry to hear you're having to lose weight before being helped. I'm trying to reduce my BMI a bit at the moment and also follow a low GI diet but it's hard to make those changes alongside all the admin and anxiety around TTC (particularly in my TTC situation which is quite admin heavy for a non clinical situation lol)

MrsBiddy · 17/01/2022 20:46

@lakejupiter

I have pcos and I'm 35, but my bmi is a lot higher than yours, I'm currently taking 1500mg of Metformin and my doctor prescribed it. Im trying to lose weight as they won't look at me until under bmi 30 🙁

Can't believe what your GP said 😮 I would have definitely complained!!! Hopefully your new GP isn't a di**head like the last one xx

Anyone used Ferti-Lilly Cup ? I've ordered one to see if it helps

Somatronic · 17/01/2022 20:02

@Minster2012 your weird suction voice notes cheered me up on a depressing Monday! 😘

I fell off the grapefruit juice and EPO wagon but I'm back on it now(after a special delivery today!) How much EPO do you guys take each day?

lakejupiter · 17/01/2022 19:29

Oh I'm gonna start drinking grapefruit juice, yum.

Thanks @Minster2012 - it wasn't too bad tbh and I did manage it. But it's not ideal. We play music (we made a playlist together ❤️ very cute bonding exercise) and once he went out after he had done his bit which helped too. I also invested in a v good vibrator! But yeah it does seem to take a long time and I think I'm still quite tense about the whole process 😬

bez91 · 17/01/2022 19:26

@BellatrixK another vote for grapefruit juice 🙋🏼‍♀️

Minster2012 · 17/01/2022 19:23

Catching up!

I sent @Somatronic a voice note of my impression of an upsuck with then fertili being attached. Nothing like a randomer from the internet sending you weird suction noises on a Monday. I'm clearly just mental. @BellatrixK it's def one to try! "You must DTD & orgasm immediately after" 😆least it's more fun

@Manifestingbaby you know we send you hugs & strength (& tying your tether)

I gotta admit having him in the other room might not make for the best orgasm environment @lakejupiter, maybe he could play music or something? 😂don't count yourself out. I'm 37 (38 in July) & very faulty & managed to get pregnant (& stay pregnant) having been told 5 years ago I'd never have children. I've just read your update on DICK GP I'm so sorry you had that awful experience what a t, I'd be tempted to complain (& def would've asked him what his bmi is!)
Keep the hope, listen to @Somatronic* 😘

@BellatrixK I suffer with a bit of vag dryness & lack of ewcm so I took EPO (a Tesco one) you must stop EPO after ovulation though, and also drank golden grapefruit juice a glass a day from day 1to OV. It def helped me. I went from zero to a decent amount

lakejupiter · 17/01/2022 18:56

Oh that's good to know any thats maybe why he didn't seem to know much about it @Somatronic - will wait to see what the endocrinologist says. I'm on an apparently long waiting list but will get there eventually!

Somatronic · 17/01/2022 18:53

I can't imagine how upsetting it would be to go to see a doctor having made the momentous decision to try to have children only to be met with that awful man @lakejupiter

You'll need an endocrinologist or gynae to prescribe the metformin. GPs can't. My endocrinologist is a big fan of it so maybe yours will go down that road too.

lakejupiter · 17/01/2022 18:14

Ah thanks so much for this @Somatronic - I'm taking Pregnacare TTC supplements which has Inositol in it but maybe should look into taking it on its own? Will see how much is already in the Pregnacare.

Glad to be vindicated by the GP stuff! It was truly humiliating and really disheartening and confusing too - I was sort of made to believe I had zero chance of conceiving, when I'd spent two years getting to know my coparent and planning to start TTC (which we went ahead with anyway). Thank god for the Internet and for the receptionist sending me my actual results rather than relying on his interpretation of them! I mentioned metformin to him and he was like "that's only for diabetics" when clearly it's used for PCOS patients all the time. Will look into complaining when I have met with new GP and changed practices officially
