Good morning everyone,

Been searching for a thread like this (hope I’m in the right place).
I’m 42, dp 31 (he looks older as he’s lost his hair 😉) . I have 2 ds ages 16 & 5.
I am really starting to want to ttc for another baby but worry that I am too old. I worry that I am thinking this was because I know it’s coming towards the end of my fertility life.
I don’t want to life wishing I had had another. My little one would be an amazing big bro. My two children are so far apart in ages that they have little time together. Teenager sadly not interested.
Anyone else been in my shoes ? X

For folate I take methylfolate in my prenatal from Naturelo.
For Ubiquinol I take the one by Health Thru Nutrition.
I use recommendations from itstartswiththeegg.com/uk-supplement-buying-guide/

littlegingerone · 08/02/2022 14:01

Finding it really useful reading about everyone's experiences with tests etc., I'm just back from holiday so going to look at getting tests booked in for both of us.

I've been taking folic acid and COq10 but I've read that it's better to take Folate and Ubiquinol - just wondered if anyone had any (not overly exttortionate!) reccomendations that I can buy in the UK?

TTCafterIVF · 07/02/2022 07:23

So I've just had AF show up at 9dpo Confused

CherylPorter350 · 24/01/2022 20:45

Congratulations on the recent BFP!!! So inspiring

Trying81 · 24/01/2022 18:57

Thanks - it's been so long without contraception that didn't think it would ever happen!

Gonna have an early scan too I think, just to set my mind at rest

1moretry · 24/01/2022 17:42

@Trying81 that's fantastic!

Congratulations

GingerFox2021 · 24/01/2022 16:42

Congratulations, ladies, on BFPs! On this thread for quite long time, just more reading than posting.
Are you trying something new time to time? I have just added Acupuncture and Reflexology to my TTC armour list 🤔😏 as well as Ubiquinol after long considerations. Feeling better for now that I least I’m trying smth 🤷‍♀️

ladybuggoldfinch · 24/01/2022 16:23

@Trying81 congratulations xx

Trying81 · 24/01/2022 12:54

Trying81 · 24/01/2022 11:28

Hello I'm 41 and ttc. Went for tests at end of 2020 as part of NHS IVF referral (in my area you can get it up to 43 yo) and was told I had severely low amh at 0.2 so don't qualify for IVF on NHS as it wouldn't increase my odds. They did a transvaginal ultrasound as well and saw there were no obstructions otherwise but that I only have 3 antral follicles. After a few months of not wanting to think about this depressing news I read It Starts With the Egg and implemented a few recommendations. In September I was briefly pregant, had an MC in October. This motivated me to implement ALL the recommendations - been slightly off the wagon since XMas but basically almost no sugar, alcohol,, mediterranean diet, one weak cuppa per day (down from 2 strong and 2 double shot coffees) loads of supplements, no canned food or phthlates in beauty or house products. Also on baby aspirin. As the egg takes 3 months to mature the idea is you do this 3 months before TTC again. I've been going for it anyway since no time to lose, and AF is here today which is pretty depressing. Good to hear about others' success, though a lot depends on your numbers and mine are pretty terrible.

I do recommend that even if you don't want IVF, you get tests done i.e. proceed as if being referred if on NHS or do tests privately as at least you will know what you're dealing with.

I do OPKs as at least then, if I was going to be lazy and not dtd or 'babydance' as some forums call it, then it makes me think twice and make an effort when I see I'm fertile! This month I went mad on pregnancy tests and feel p*ssed off I wasted my money so will avoid the urge next month!

Hi ladies, thought I would jump on board to say hi. Currently 41 and in the TWW. Hubby and I swore we would stop at one due to the issues staying pregnant. I've had 7 miscarriages in total. One mmc, one ectopic and five mc's. But over Christmas we decided to try again!! So here we are... on deciding to try again we all caught covid but due to it being mild we decided to carry on DTD! I've had spotting for the last 4 days which has been light pink (only when wiping) or in my CM. All pregnancy tests have came back negative so far but I'm not due AF until Wednesday. This TWW is doing my nut in... Confused

Congratulations!! Such a hopeful update for everyone too!
TTCafterIVF · 16/01/2022 07:20

@1moretry excellent news! Congratulations!

I'm out this month unfortunately and despite swearing I wouldn't go down that road again I've bought some OPKs for this month only (justifying it that I don't know what date I ovulate since having a baby!)

kirinm · 15/01/2022 18:06

Fabulous news @1moretry congratulations!

ladybuggoldfinch · 15/01/2022 16:23

Omg.
41 and ttc for 18 months.
I don't have pregnancy tests in because I become obsessed as shared previously.

Thought I had af the other day as small amount of pink ish blood but it didn't carry on so I got a test last night to calm me...

cakedelight77 · 14/01/2022 05:29

Joining!

  1. Have a beautiful DD, 3.

Trying for a couple of months but really trying this month!

Trying to really listen to my body....on day 10 from start of period...had cramps, watery...felt that relaxed, calm feeling you after your period has finished Grin

But could I be ovulating day 10?
Anyway DTD ...and shall keep trying as must be in fertile window ..

Lauraliverpool · 13/01/2022 22:09

@GingerFox2021 I'm like that too, worried when to DTD, am I missing out on days, are there certain days. Stress definitely can mess things up. Wish it could be simpler.

GingerFox2021 · 13/01/2022 21:42

@Lauraliverpool you know, I tried few months without sticks too, but that stressed me out too, as I was constantly worrying if I DTD on right days. With or without sticks, I’m stressed anyway. And stress can mess up things. I’ll try now few months with sticks.
