My first time posting so I hope it's in the right place. After 2 miscarriages in 8 months 1 at 6 weeks 6 days last one at Christmas at 9 weeks after 3 years trying, I'm really loosing hope on the scan we saw heartbeat I'm gutted. Small fibroid was seen at the scan but was told it was nothing to worry about, Was it that?? Why does it feel like it will never happen?? SadSad

@mobear

Not me, but my mother had three miscarriages before having my sibling.
Thank you for sharing, It's so much more common than I thought 🤞

@pmtqueen

I found this chart very reassuring. I had a miscarriage in sept, chemical pregnancy in October and found out on Boxing Day that I'm pregnant again. So difficult to feel excited x
That is very reassuring thank you and congratulations hope you have a happy and healthy 9 months 💐

@Tarne

You haven't mentioned your BMI but this is taken from the British Fertility Society....Obesity has a significant adverse impact on reproductive outcome. It influences not only the chance of conception but also the response to fertility treatment, and increases the risk of miscarriage, congenital anomalies and pregnancy complications in addition to potential adverse effects on long term health of both mother and infant. Women should aim for a normal BMI before starting any form of fertility treatment. Treatment should be deferred until the BMI is less than 35 kg/m2, although in those with more time (e.g., less than 37 years; normal serum FSH concentration) a weight reduction to a BMI of less than 30 kg/m2 is preferable. Clinicians should consider deferring treatment to women outside these guidelines. Women should be provided with assistance to lose weight, including psychological support, dietary advice, exercise classes and where appropriate, weight reducing agents or bariatric surgery. Even a moderate weight loss of 5–10% of body weight can be sufficient to restore fertility and improve metabolic markers.

All the overweight women I know have had miscarriages so please just check that your weight is not causing you this problem.

Good luck op Flowers

Yes. 10 years trying, my only living child is a result of my 16th pregnancy. I never had fertility treatments or help as my BMI meant I couldn’t access any.

It can happen but OP, other people’s experiences doesn’t mean it will for you. After 3 losses you can have investigation and I’d suggest getting the ball rolling on thst. They found for me during my surviving it was my cervix that was the problem. If I get pregnant again I can have a stitch put in.

BlwyddynNewydd2022 · 03/01/2022 23:36

I have had over 15 miscarriages ranging from 6 weeks to 16.

I have one healthy beautiful boy.

I was diagnosed with a genetic condition. I had no fertility intervention to have my son, just had to catch a good egg, which I did...by accident in a new relationship early on 😬 ooops.

kemh · 03/01/2022 23:34

@Brenna24

I had a MMC at 11 weeks, rhen 2 more miscarriages in the next 7 months. Then didn't conceive for a year and had all sorts of tests and got prescribed HCG injections in my two weeks wait, steroids for the first trimester and progesterone until 24 weeks. That led to a successful pregnancy which was very stressful with lots of early bleeds and a premature labour at 34 weeks. She came out a strapping healthy baby and is turning 4 next week.
Awh congratulations, Thank you for sharing gives me so much hope 🙏
@kemh GPs/NHS won’t do anything until 3 MCs other than basic hormone testing unfortunately. It was well worth the consultation and prescription cost but appreciate not everyone can afford that outlay. I took progesterone from 2 days post ovulation. Sending lots of luck your way xx
Thank you I will be looking into going privately, If there's just a chance it will work it's definitely worth it 🙏

@TheSpanishApartment

Sorry for your losses. I had my daughter after two miscarriages. I had a bleed early on with her and thought I’d lost her too, but she hung on in there. The EPU told me even two miscarriages was very common.
EXACTLY the same for me.
Findingapath · 03/01/2022 22:10

@kemh

Findingapath when did you start taking asprin was it post ovulation?
I took it from TTC, so before ovulation. I took 75mg with DS1 throughout pregnancy and 4 years later I started on 75mg with DS2 but at my booking appointment the mw told me the recommended dosage had been increased to 150mg, so I increased it at that point. I just took the over counter stuff, it’s super cheap and no need for a prescription. Wishing you lots of luck x.

@Troublesometooth

2 years of trying, 2 miscarriages, numerous fertility tests before our DC1 arrived.

It then took 3 months of trying to conceive DC2 with no problems at all.

Oh wow this really gives me hope thank you!. Sorry for your losses and Congratulations 💐

Me. I had two miscarriages in between my second and third child. One at 11 weeks and one at 7 weeks. I took Baby aspirin without asking anyone too. My dd is 4. I also had infertility for three years prior to my first. I was later diagnosed with severe endometriosis Adenomyosis and pcos. Good luck xx
Thank you, I'm going to ask for further testing to see if I might have that or something else, Congratulations on your successful pregnancy and so sorry for your losses 💐

@Gamechanger2019

I am currently 28 weeks pregnant after 2 MC (8 weeks & 5 weeks) I ended up seeing a private consultant who prescribed progesterone until I was 12 weeks which helped me, also if you’re not using them the ovulation sticks really help. Best of luck, it will happen but I know first hand how frustrating and heart breaking it is xxx
Congratulations and sorry to hear of your losses there so cruel 😞. I was thinking if I do conceive again to ask for progesterone as soon as I find out, Do normal gps not prescribe them? I'd happily go private I'd do anything right now 😩. Did you take it before you were pregnant?
