My first time posting so I hope it's in the right place. After 2 miscarriages in 8 months 1 at 6 weeks 6 days last one at Christmas at 9 weeks after 3 years trying, I'm really loosing hope on the scan we saw heartbeat I'm gutted. Small fibroid was seen at the scan but was told it was nothing to worry about, Was it that?? Why does it feel like it will never happen?? SadSad

Sorry for your losses, its so painful.

I had 2 early m/c. Luckily got tested 9n the NHS and diagnosed with anti phospholipid syndrome. Was started on blood thinners in subsequent pregnancies and now have 2 dc. Sooo grateful to the Dr who suggested I get tested.

It does make subsequent pregnancies quite stressful, but lots of people get there so try to stay positive.

I'm writing this holding my 1 year old daughter as she drifts back to sleep. I had two miscarriages before her. The pain and fear doesn't leave you, as you know things can go wrong. But hope drives you through. I tried to be open about the miscarriages as I found it easier to deal with and thought it was more helpful for others experiencing it. My cousin miscarried and didn't realise just how common it is until people mentioned their experience.I

Good luck!!
@kemh I'm also 32 and 33 in March. I was hoping to be pregnant before I turn 33 after my last mc but I can't see that happening atm. We've decided if it doesn't happen in the next couple of months, we're going to go for private tests seen as the nhs won't do anything. Don't want to wait until another miscarriage or wait another 6 months for a referral then god knows how long until an appointment.

Time flies when you're trying and it isn't a good thing!
It's took me a couple of years to actually go to see a doctor about it, It's absolutely gutting getting negative after negative test to then get a positive test, have a good scan all well with heartbeat then it's all taken away just like that. The years are just flying by more family members having their babies and we are still trying it really really sucks!!. Hope we get our rainbows soon 🌈🤞.

@ForTheLoveOfDoughnuts

I'm so sorry for your losses. I can't offer much advice. Other than I had fibroids in my first pregnancy and they didn't cause any issues. Though I don't remember where they were in relation to the baby.

I wish you all the best xx

Thank you that's reassuring as it was well away from the baby and small they said, Congratulations 💐.

@DollyDingleberry

Yeah they couldn’t diagnose why I was losing pregnancies until I was pregnant passed 20 weeks for some reason. I bled all the way through with my son. And that’s how they discovered my cervix is rubbish.

If my experience tells you anything it’s to just keep trying for as long as you’re comfortable. What I will say though is take regular breaks. A month off from trying now and again and just having sex for fun was so important for us. Especially after losses.

Also, I set myself a future moment where I’d say to myself it wasn’t going to happen and we would stop trying forever and think about adopting. For me, there being an end to the heartache helped me carry on. My date was my 36th birthday and my son was born just after I turned 30. I don’t know why this helps, but it really really did.

Thank you that's a really good idea, I'm 32 , 33 in June. I'm thinking maybe there's something like that that's stopping me too. We now have an appointment in February and I hope they either find the cause or help me in some way. Praying this year is our year so badly 🤞🙏.

I was unable to get pregnant, l had infertility treatment & I then had 2 miscarriages , one at 10 weeks and another at 20 weeks . I conceived and delivered both of my girls thankfully after these very upsetting events. I was absolutely terrified l was going to lose my babies , it was hellish .
Thank you so much Op ☺️ Our daughters are everything to us. I am wishing you all the luck in the world 💐

@LimpLettice

Pregnancy after loss is a different beast. It is so hard to relax into it. Had gestational diabetes with subsequent pregnancies but otherwise no issues at all. It's hard to say but 2 losses isn't as rare as all that. Modern testing is so early that we detect more pregnancies than in our parents day. I was awaiting an appointment with recurrent miscarriage clinic when DS1 was conceived because they are not interested until after 3 losses. 2 does not make 3 inevitable, is what I'm trying to say.

I bought my aspirin in B&M, baby aspirin here is 75mg. My cousin is a midwife and said to try it after my 3rd loss, basically can't do any harm. I took it daily from around conception which was before we knew obviously (I can't say it helped conception, I don't know) until 36w. With DS2 who was unplanned, I started on it at bfp and stopped about 32w.

Thank you! DS2 is such a joy. We took 1 risk, literally. I remember testing because of some faint nausea, so blasé that it could never happen, that DS1 was our miracle, I left the test on the side and didn't even look at it. Got a bloody shock when I checked it!

🤣 I bet you was in total disbelief, That's just amazing. I'm going to start asprin definitely after reading all these successes, I've nothing to loose and no harm. Thank you for your replies 🙏

@LimpLettice

Me too. Have an older DC but had 3 losses 6-9 weeks within about a year. Started baby aspirin every day and conceive DS1 about a week after the 3rd loss. He's DS1 because when he was a year I accidentally conceived DS2 and I was 42 by then.
Wow! Congratulations!, It's stories like yours that really keep my spirits up, When did you start taking the aspirin was it post ovulation and how many mg, I really hope this happens for me too 🤞🌈.

Sorry for your losses and Congratulations on your 2 babies 💐, It really takes the excitement of seeing that bfp away. My first miscarriage I seen the positive and screamed my house down in disbelief but not for one minute did I think anything would go wrong, Fast forward 8 months I get another positive test and it wasn't exciting I felt a big feeling of dread because 2 lines doesn't always equal a baby anymore. It just puts a dark cloud over everything but this thread has given me that bit of hope back that I need to not give up, Thank you

@BlwyddynNewydd2022

I have had over 15 miscarriages ranging from 6 weeks to 16.

I have one healthy beautiful boy.

I was diagnosed with a genetic condition. I had no fertility intervention to have my son, just had to catch a good egg, which I did...by accident in a new relationship early on 😬 ooops.

Oh wow! I'm so sorry you had to go through it that many times you must be such a strong woman, Congratulations! And that's funny well it must have been meant to be!

I did. One mc at 6 weeks and a missed mc at 12. 7 months later I fell pregnant with DD.

I'm so sorry for your losses. Have you had full bloods done?

kemh · 04/01/2022 14:59

@Lividlavidacoco

Yes. 10 years trying, my only living child is a result of my 16th pregnancy. I never had fertility treatments or help as my BMI meant I couldn’t access any.

It can happen but OP, other people’s experiences doesn’t mean it will for you. After 3 losses you can have investigation and I’d suggest getting the ball rolling on thst. They found for me during my surviving it was my cervix that was the problem. If I get pregnant again I can have a stitch put in.

My Mum was telling me about the stitch, I carried my son who is now 13 to almost full term I got induced 3 Wes early but otherwise pregnancy was uneventful, I'm just hoping we get our miracle soon 🤞
