First timers, TTC. Safe space for brain dumps...

Hi everyone!

This thread may or may not contain questions, I've mainly started it to be my brain dump safe space but in an excited way, not a bad way...

Me (30) and my SO (34) have decided to take the leap and start TTC! We have both wanted children for a while but just knew the timing wasn't right for either of us until now. For me, any time I see a baby or even baby clothes recently my heart aches for it to be my turn. I've never really had that strong feeling before.

The reason behind this 'safe space' is that we have agreed not to tell anyone we are TTC. We just want to avoid any pressure or disappointment if things don't go to plan, etc.

For context, I am the youngest of 5, the only girl the only one of my siblings without children.
SO is the oldest of 2, his brother has a child who lives with BM away from here so isn't really seen much by grandparents.

Both families are great and would only want the best for us but I personally don't want to feel any sort or pressure at all (intended or not) from either side.

So, we start our journey, we are on cycle 1 SWI, not expecting anything to happen this cycle and trying not to turn in to a crazy lady about TTC Smile

If anyone else needs a brain dump safe space, feel free to join me here Smilex

@TinyDancer91 that's so frustrating for you!! I remember we're on similar cycles. My AF one day late but I've tested a couple of times and also BFNs, we shall try again next cycle and not let it get to us!

TinyDancer91 · 17/01/2022 00:41

@Zubi that's exciting for your SIL but I understand frustrating for you. Hopefully you won't be far behind!!

It's definitely a BFN for me this month... Mother Nature decided I didn't even need to test and AF has arrived a few days early... ah well, guess it's on to cycle 2, reset and refocus time now.

Love and baby dust to you all. Hoping for some BFPs coming up 💕

@Zubi What cycle are you on it if you don't mind me asking? I'm sure it will happen soon for you, it's just the not knowing when it will happen which makes it difficult isn't it, that's what I'm struggling with anyway.

Xx

Zubi · 16/01/2022 19:10

@Mariabombia exactly! We love family and we have a big family and want lots of babies so we're so excited for a new baby. Me and my husband have been really careful trying, so for it to happen to them accidentally is frustrating!

Mariabombia · 16/01/2022 18:57

@Zubi that must be so difficult because in one respect you'll be really happy for them but also wanting it for yourself :( my SIL will be trying later this year & I can't help but worry about my reaction if I'm not pregnant by then. This thought makes me feel horrible though. I would've never been like this before TTC :/ xxx

Zubi · 16/01/2022 00:58

Just found out my SIL is pregnant, they didn't even want kids and weren't trying, blessed to have another baby in the family but I can't help feeling jealous.

Checking my pee daily for ovulation and then it happens so easily for other people!

Mariabombia · 15/01/2022 19:22

@CrazyCatLady95 that's a lovely strong line!! 🥰🥰🥰🥰 lovely to see it progressing.

@rcal1988 weirdly, only since TTC, I've started to notice cramps straight after ovulation. Sounds promising though if you don't usually get that so early on 🤞🏻

@lakejupiter I've been exactly the same the past few cycle, one min I'm like oh yeah for sure I feel different & the next I'm like nahhh I feel the same 🤦‍♀️ I'm wondering if I will actually feel any different when it does happen.

@Zubi fingers crossed AF stays away for you xxx

rcal1988 · 15/01/2022 19:03

@CrazyCatLady95 that’s good to know. I did think my cramps have been too early for AF as well but I suppose you don’t want to assume anything and get all excited! The waiting game is awful!

CrazyCatLady95 · 15/01/2022 18:51

@lakejupiter

So excited for you *@CrazyCatLady95* !!!!!
Thank you! 💖💖💖

So excited for you @CrazyCatLady95 !!!!!

Hi all. Just checking in. I'm 5 or 6dpo. Yesterday I had a weird crampy feeling. Today no cramps but backache and veiny, sore boobs! So hard not to read into any of the signs and I have no idea whether I'd be feeling any of this stuff if I wasn't on my 2ww. Also I'm super tired but that could just be January vibes. Last night I was convinced I felt different, today I was convinced there's nothing going on down there. Trying to stay busy which is helping :)

CrazyCatLady95 · 15/01/2022 14:44

To be honest I've been having like a low level constant cramp for about a week now. Guess it's all the changes that are happening in there! But cramps don't necessarily mean AF. Mine started too early to be AF so that how I knew something was different!
That should be our new moto - it's not over until AF arrives (instead of it's not over until the fat lady sings 😂)

Zubi · 15/01/2022 13:52

@CrazyCatLady95 haha I'll be holding onto this!! I would love AF to never arrive and get a BFP next week but I feel unlikely this month!

rcal1988 · 15/01/2022 11:51

@CrazyCatLady95 thanks so much I will make sure I test on Monday morning when I get up then. In a way I’m dreading it as I can’t bare the disappointment if it’s a BFN 😞 I’ve had some mild cramps and keep thinking when I go to the toilet AF will be here but nothing yet. Apart from that I don’t really have any other symptoms so I don’t feel too hopeful. Why is it this month I can’t remember if these cramps before AF normally happen for me?! 🤣

Nyxxie · 15/01/2022 11:50

@CrazyCatLady95 how exciting! Congratulations Grin

CrazyCatLady95 · 15/01/2022 11:46

@rcal1988 it's best to use first urine of the day. I tested at 10/11 dpo on a frer and got a faint positive! You are strong waiting until 14dpo I'm not even at that yet 😂

rcal1988 · 15/01/2022 11:43

@CrazyCatLady95 I’m 12dpo today. Going to wait until 14DPO…if I can 😂 is it best to take the test with FMU or can any time of the day be ok?

CrazyCatLady95 · 15/01/2022 11:38

@Zubi it's not over until AF arrives! Implantation can take 12 days so you never know!
@rcal1988 how exciting! What DPO are you? The wait is agonising isn't it 😂

rcal1988 · 15/01/2022 11:32

Congrats @CrazyCatLady95 line looking great! I’m taking a test on Monday…longest 2 days to wait ever 😂

Zubi · 15/01/2022 11:14

@CrazyCatLady95 this is so exciting!! Congrats to you 🎉♥️🎉♥️

Zubi · 15/01/2022 11:13

AF is due tomorrow so thought I'd take an early test, BFN though :(

Will have to try again next month

CrazyCatLady95 · 15/01/2022 11:07

Bit of a darker line today 🤞🏼😊 hoping everyone gets a bfp very soon!

First timers, TTC. Safe space for brain dumps...
Mariabombia · 15/01/2022 10:38

@TinyDancer91 hope you're okay! It's just typical to test positive for it when you have loads of stuff planned!

Glad you're not poorly with it though xxx

TinyDancer91 · 14/01/2022 22:00

Thanks @Nyxxie - I don't really feel ill and only tested as we have to for an event we have this weekend! Typical that now I can't go....

Hoping for better BFPs for everyone else!

@TinyDancer91 Oh nooooo! Sorry to hear that, hope it's a mild case and you get over it super quick!
