BB, how did it go last night?

Playing, normally SAHM is easy, I find anyway!! Just yesterday didn't ever seem to end. And it was my BIL birthday yesterday, we are really close (DS2 is named after him) and I didn't get chance to ring till gone 10 last night, so I didn't ring because it was too late, now feeling very guilty.

Cosmo, I know what you mean by the broody bug! When I was in the hairdressers yesterday the woman before me was hugely pregnant, she was due Tuesday just gone, I so wanted to be her!! LOL I think she thought I was a bit of a weirdo (probably rightly as well!!!) but I couldn't stop looking at her bump You just make sure you're not a stranger for too long missus!

Well, it is finally FEBRUARY!!!!!!!!!!!!! WHOOOOOOOOOO farking HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO I have never been so glad to see the back of a month before. Only 3 months left till May

DS1 is staying home today, he has struggled all week with this bloody cold/bug thing, but he just looks so poorly today, his eyes are all puffy, and he has a bit of a high temp. So I have let him stay home. And I really must get on with the housework today, so I won't be about as much again, stop cheering at the back!!!

Oh, did anyone see GMTV yesterday? I didn't but sister saw it, she said they had an article on about folic acid, apparently they are now recommending for it to be taken for a whole year before conception, something to do with preventing pre-term babies, didn't know if any of you would be interested?

Right I am a gonna, think my first job is to get the 5-6 loads of washing that has piled up on the dining room table folded and put away!! See you all in a bit xxx

Morning . Happy Feb! I feel like I've been up for hours, with dd3's waking time having gradually been creeping earlier (now 5am ). Urghh, horrid time of the 'day'! Will try and cut out her mid-day nap I think, though from past experience doesn't work that well .
Got a viewer for the house today, so trying to get some semblance of order Losing battle (make beds, dd3 gets in...repeat...).
Hopefully will get an offer soon, as this house is far too small for 5 of us, let alone 6!
Right, off to try and bribe them into their clothes!

And February! Pinch punch and all that....another month closer to our deadlines!

Thanks NJ - I will definitely still be lurking even if I don't post. As some other MNers have said, once you get bitten by the broody bug it doesn't go away until you have a baby. That seems to be ringing true for me at the moment!
When I start the job I'm going to try and get the employee handbook and research the maternity policy, so if I manage to find out, I will pop on and let you know what the score is on that front. That info will allow me to plan a little better I think. Anyway, have good evenings all. Friday tomorrow!!

I have had such a busy day today, I went into town after dropping DS1 at school, went and sorted bank stuff and bills, did some shopping, had my hair cut, got home just in time to get shopping packed away and go and get DS from school, then I rang my mum, put the phone down to her and my sister rang, I haven't even had a brew since this morning! And it's not over yet, we've got Tesco tonight, but I think I fully deserve a bottle, or three, of wine And I might let DH buy us a chinese

BB - just had to pop on and give you a virtual hug (()) That really sucks! My new job is a 6 month probation period - so that will mean end of August before I get permanent contract if all goes OK.

I know you must be feeling really down, I am having days like that too. If I were you I'd take some time and have a think about what you want to do. It is so frustrating that work and money have to get in the way of the more important things in life!

Anyway, am thinking of you hun, and as Playing says, if you do need to wait, you'll have plenty of company x

Keep you chin up BB, you might still end up trying before me! If you get a new job you might want to wait till after probabtion to start but that could be in as little as 4 months or so, certainly within 6 months. In fact, you will def be trying before me as DH and I have def decided we are not even going to consider it till Sept. Got to go and do work now, will chat to you later.

BB- It doesnt sound as if your job is under immediate danger then, so if its worth fighting for maybe stick it out? However, it does sound as if your employers are arseholes to extend your probation over something so stupid. It sounds a little dodgy, I wouldn't want to work someone where they treat emplyees like that. Also, if you are not enjoying it, it might be worth looking for something new, money is def not everything? There's no harm having a look?

My parole has been extended because my ex-boss didnt sign me off after my original probation because he fucked off to start his own business, i got an award for excellence so i think im doing ok, only thing is decision will be made on march 24, so what do i do? do i hang around in a job that some days i hate, with reallyu long hours thats ages away from home but that pays well, in the hope that i will be signed off whilst living with knowing that at the end of each week i cld be out on my ear, also knowing that even when perm no more stable really

do i find something new and start from scratch so to speak? i feel so put out x

Agree with Diege...not sure that they can justify extending a parole period (unless of course you have breached it already, lady ).

Also agree wholeheartedly with just getting on with it anyway...I resigned (constructive dismissal, actually) at 9 weeks pg last time, with no idea what I was going to do for money or for work!! It was the best thing I ever did, as it opened so many opportunities for me that I now rely on!

I don't know what your area of work is, but can you register with a decent agency?

If they are buggering you about now, what will they be like with maternity leave/pay?

Just thinking BYMY that it might be worth having a quiet word wioth your union rep? Just an off the record chat? I hhave heard of bosses pi**ing about with this sort of thing, just so they don't have to sign up to permanent contracts. There have also been changes in the law recently (anti-discriminatory) that do give workers in your situation more right re: holiday leave etc, but not sure about probationary periods...will check when I get a chance today .

Oh no BEMY! Vent away, it's horrible when something like this happens - feels like the rug's been pulled from under your feet. Did your boss given any reason for extending the parole? Can see how this would make you feel insecure job-wise - there again how would you see things if you had just got pregnant then this happened? Just been thinking myself recently that there are certain things in life that happen regardless, and sometimes it's just best to get on with things as there will never be a 'perfect' time. Can understand you feelings entirely though.
TEUCH: well at least you know where you stand eh! I used to hate the first day or so when af arrived when I was ttc, but after a day or so it's odd how the disappointment of it all lifts and it's on to the next month!

Oh sweetie, thats not good. I don't know what I can say or do apart from send {{{{hugs}}}}. Did she give any reason? Is it something they normally do? My heart bleeds for you, but at least if you have to change jobs than at least if it means waiting you have all of us for support!!

havent had chance to read post so apologies for self centred post but im going to cry...

i think i will have to change jobs which puts kibosh on TTC in two months... my boss has extended my parole and i have no job security... i think im gonna cry...

just needed to vent and feel sad...
