Morning all,

Didn't get chance to come on last night - had DH cousin over for a lovely Malysian (sp?) curry (low fat but sooo scrummy) served with sugar snap peas, then we watched I am Legend.

Don't normally pop on during work but I'm working my notice so what's the worst that can happen?.............

BB - fab news about maternity pay. Looks like you are onto a winner there.

Feeling good about leaving, just wish I could go now! I have posted a question in 'Employment' about my notice period and holiday, so if anyone is knowledgeable about that stuff, please take a look and give me your thoughts.

Anyway, best go and do something I suppose . Laters.

Just calling in to say good morning all!

Having very frustrating day as I have ordered First Response tests online but ferries are off so no post !!

Am due AF today or tomorrow and been feeling a bit wierd...light-headed and sicky...but then that is the first symptom of about every bug going around here!!! Aarrrrgh!

I don't even think we actually timed things that well this month so the chances of BFP...well, not that good I would say!

But still...I would like mt tests...

NatalieJane · 25/01/2008 09:33

Good morning girlies

Playing, hope the celebrations are well under way

BB, That is good news about the ML. I will try to get back around 12-ish so you at least have some company

BB2B, when did you move over? We were looking at moving to Spain either later this year or early next year, but then I had the M/C and we decided that we'd rather have another baby instead! Will have to wait till kids are grown up now, small price to pay

Well, I am feeling a lot better, just have a straight forward cold now, without all the other stuff. But, DS1, DS2 and DH have a cold now, I HATE January's! I can honeslty say I think this has been the worst month going in my whole life. And I am not being OTT!

BabyBump2B · 24/01/2008 19:28

Hi All!

NJ - you're not being nosy! I'm in Vancouver, Canada - about 8 hours behind you UK ladies so as you leave work I arrive!

Playingthewaitinggame · 24/01/2008 15:54

Just quickly logged on to say Hi from my hotel room! Didnt get round to saying goodbye yesterday as was too busy at work in the afternoon. Anyhow, have a good weekend and I will chat again on Monday. Oh and well done Cosmos, I always hate quitting but it is a good feeling when you have finally done it!!

NatalieJane · 24/01/2008 14:22

Me too

BeMyLilBaby · 24/01/2008 14:20

aw bless i love it x

NatalieJane · 24/01/2008 14:14

Awww and one of the other ones was a little girl who had said all through the pregnancy that the baby was going to be a boy, the mum had an elec c/s, and she did have a little boy, when the dad went to tell the little girl, OMG, I was bawling

NatalieJane · 24/01/2008 14:12

Oh yes, she was high on entinox (gas and air) that is why I said she would be sad when she saw the video played back.

With both of mine the first 45mins at least were mine, to feed them, whilst they were getting the placenta out and sticthing and what not, then it was DH's turn while I had a shower DH at that point got them a nappy on and dressed properly and then had a lovely cuddle till I came out of the shower and it was my turn again!!

BeMyLilBaby · 24/01/2008 14:07

oh NJ how scandalous, i cant believe that either, have read that skin-to-skin contact is important following birth to prevent PND, cant believe anyone would say that!! was it the drugs maybe, or perhaps she jsut wasnt maternal!!

Im actually dreading having to share my DC with anyone lol im the only person who whenm they were little played being a single parent lol!! x

NatalieJane · 24/01/2008 13:58

That is an excuse!! I like it

Have just had my daily installment of baby programs, one of the mums, literally just given birth, high on entinox, says "I'm not interested in the baby, you hold him first, I love you so so much" to her DH.... I was a bit then a bit then thought how sad she will feel looking back at the video.

I wouldn't have given up those first few precious moments of holding my babies for all the money in the world!

(Obviously can see the difference with C/S and if the baby needed medical help, that is very different!)

BeMyLilBaby · 24/01/2008 12:23

lol i think i am one of those whaddaya callits, social addicts, and one must never be unsociable tis rude he he so thusforth i am doing the polite thing being here he he x

NatalieJane · 24/01/2008 12:06

LOL Not a chance!!

The first step to sorting an addiction is admitting you have a problem, so well done you. Now go and sit in the corner and repeat 'I WILL NOT LOG ON TO MUMSNET TODAY, I AM STRONG, I AM BEAUTIFUL, I CAN DO THIS' 1000 times.

Or just log on and be done with it!!

BeMyLilBaby · 24/01/2008 11:58

lol nope you didnt mn is like an addiction, i am addict sympathise with me x

NatalieJane · 24/01/2008 11:43

Almost is not good enough! You have another 17 minutes to wait!

I am trying to make you feel guilty... did it work?

BeMyLilBaby · 24/01/2008 11:41

wel i almost made it to lunch... x

BeMyLilBaby · 24/01/2008 08:18

morning girls!

am trying to limit myself on here today so after this not checking back till lunch time, as wont be able to get on much tomo and at all, all weeked because alptop has completely died arg!!

Cosmo well done handing in your notice, enjoy your last few days and time off!

BB2B I think your all def right, gonna tell her laptop is a no hoper tommorrow and then midweek next week tell her about the hol.. she cant be cross forever and the way she's been lately i dnt think she'l even mind!

NJ glad youre feeling better and think i might badger DP into Sky+
he he

see you at lunchtime girls xx

NatalieJane · 24/01/2008 07:19

Morning

BB, Sky+ is one of those things that you could live your whole life with out, with out ever missing it, but once you have it, give it 3 days max and you will NEVER be able to live with out it!!! Honestly, ours is 3 years old now and starting to feel it's age, the remote stopped working week before last, we were completely lost, we watched DVD's until remote was working again!

Baby, Where do you live then? You are still TTC no 1, as in your first child. I think you might be getting mixed up with cycle 1, cycle 2, cycle 3 etc. a cycle lasts from the first day of you period, (period in MN talk - AF) so the day your AF starts is Cycle Day 1, day two of your AF is CD2, day 3 is CD3 etc. A cycle lasts until the day before your next AF, or a BFP

Hi Cosmo, good news about handing in your notice, it is always a bit of an iffy feeling, but best to get it out of the way. And a week to pamper yourself sounds like a great idea

Playing, have a lovely few days sweetie

I am feeling a little bit better I think, my belly isn't hurting anymore, so far anyway, and am feeling generally a bit less grumpified!

Hope everyone has a good day xxxx

Cosmogirl · 23/01/2008 19:50

BB - sorry to hear you are feeling a bit down and stressed this week. Try not to worry yourself about things you can't control. Just do your best - that is all any of us can do. It is worry, but no job is 100 per cent safe these days.

Cosmogirl · 23/01/2008 19:48

Hi all,

I don't go on MN at work so I'm missing the boat with most of you but just thought I'd let you know I handed my notice in today. Hoorah! It was such a relief to do it and I feel like a big weight has been lifted. The plan is to finish mid Feb, take a week off to chill and sort myself out [get nails/hair done visit Topshop a lot etc], then start new job the week after.
Hope you have a great time at the wedding Playing - sounds fab.
Re: baby programmes: 'fraid I am a regular watcher of these types of shows too. Can't help myself....all in the name of research and preparation ;-) One of my best friends is a midwife too, so I often pick her brains about stuff too.
NJ - get well soon hun! hugs.
Welcome to the new joiners

BabyBump2B · 23/01/2008 19:26

Hi All!

BB - As I always come on here in the UK evening (morning for me!) all the problems are solved but I just wanted to reiterate that I think you're right to tell her in person. Remember its far worse waiting to tell someone bad news than it actually is delivering it!

I can't remember who asked about ttc - yes this will be our first time trying for a baby but we had been trying for 2 months before we had to take this break - does that make me ttc1 or ttc3? I'm confused!

Work stuff always sucks. My rule is if you hate it and can't change it - leave. Can be scary as hell to get out but being miserable is worse!

xoxo

BeMyLilBaby · 23/01/2008 12:28

aww i love discovery home and health but its all on in the day time..perhaps i should persuade DP to get Sky + then i cld record it tee-hee!

Dunno whats with me, but knowing my boss is away till friday i just cant keep away from MN! naughty me!

Im actually getting more annoyed at damned work! my co worker doesnt actually do anything!! x

NatalieJane · 23/01/2008 12:22

I always cry when they give birth it just brings back all those feelings from when I have given birth... Always have great respect for the ones that manage to do it quietly, from about 6cms dilated I couldn't be quiet if my life depended on it! With DS2's labour the midwife spent more time trying to shut me up than anything else, really pissed me off actually, I wasn't doing it to annoy her FFS! Besides DH would be upset if I did it quietly, he wouldn't have anything to take the micky out of me!!

Anyway... my language goes out of the window as well when I am ill, feeling like a fishwife

Playingthewaitinggame · 23/01/2008 12:16

BB - Well done you did nearly make it to lunch. I think you will find I am very sad, but I have learnt to live with it! . I was addicited to Discovery Home and Health with all the birth stories, adpotions stories, ivf stories etc. Don't get to watch tme at all now , but maybe thats a good thing
