Oh lads you're gonna think I'm properly cuckoo. I have an assembly line of supplements.
Vit D 2000iu
Vit E 400iu
Vit C 1000mg
NPH General fertility support
Folate400ug
B Complex
Omega 369 3000mg
Probiotic
CoQ10 200mg
I spend more on supplements every month than I do on IVF medication which is bonkers. That said I've run these past two doctors and my acupuncturist and each time I did they just added something else to it so sticking with it for now.

Scan tomorrow. So nervous. Here eating whole chicken breasts off the fork trying to get some protein into me

Happy St Patrick's day from Ireland 🇮🇪

Haha... Yeah. I remember changing my pre-natal like that might help too Grin.

beckyCarlos · 17/03/2022 14:21

@kay00 😂 i think back to the time I thought taking a prenantal would help and want to pat myself on the head!

Kay00 · 17/03/2022 14:10

Haha, oh no! I haven't choked on any yet. But I dread taking any of them! And before you start taking more... none of them have helped me get pregnant, so I have no evidence of any success Grin.

beckyCarlos · 17/03/2022 14:05

Crikey @kay00! Thats a lot! (Although now thinking maybe im not taking enough lol) I take a awven seas prenatal and a large dose vitamin c (both tiny) and two ubiquinol (medium sized), I used to do them individually becuaseI hate taking tablets, but one day I realised I could probably just wang them all in together and be fine, so thats what I do now 😂 only had one near choking incident to date!

Kay00 · 17/03/2022 13:55

I'm so.. so.. sick of taking pills... I'm starting to heave when I take them Sad. I want to reduce down what I'm taking if possible but I don't want to be shooting myself in the foot.

I take (daily):
4 x Metformin (2000mg)
4 x Conceive Plus Ovulation Support (Myo Inositol, D Chiro, CoQ10, Folic Acid)
2 x Conceive Plus Fertility Support (general pre-natal vitamin)
1 x Vitamin D (1000ug)

I have already dropped the massive B-Complex vitamin because they were so disgusting Grin

I was thinking I would continue this schedule for my first un-medicated (post Clomid) cycle. And then might drop the Ovulation support before I start IVF... but maybe that's a bad idea if its helping egg quality?

beckyCarlos · 16/03/2022 19:14

@purpleunicorn01 @gracie2021 i also only take 200mg of ubiquinol, it starts with the egg recommends loads but a) price and b) i barely take paracetamol, and it seemed like a lot 🤣

My next scan is a week on fri, they dont do very much when youre long protocol 🤣 thatll be folicle check and, if things look good, egg collection booking!

Ooh three powders into one water! That definitely sounds like youre basically a chemist now! I'm nervous about my first mix tomorrow! But am sure it'll be fine once I get the hang of it (after watching the video a thousand times) x

Gracie2021 · 16/03/2022 16:45

@PurpleUnicorn01 I just get the cheapest one as it's pricy as hell. Used to take 100mg and upped it to 600mg for IVF after reading it starts with the egg. Think that was causing my dizzy spells as apparently too much can affect your blood pressure. On 200mg now and not a problem. Just wanted to mention for anyone else who gets a bit over enthusiastic like me.

@beckyCarlos gonal F is actually a handy little pen that you screw the cap onto and dial up the dose. I get two nights out of each one. Luveris is the tricky one. Have to mix one bottle of fluid into three bottles of powder. Feel like the mad scientist every time 😂😂😂 are you all set for stims tomorrow? When is your next scan?

PurpleUnicorn01 · 16/03/2022 12:56

Thank you ladies. I feel like this is the fountain of all fertility knowledge page lol

beckyCarlos · 15/03/2022 20:15

@gracie2021 ooh, how does it work, do you mix up three 150s? Is it one (scary glass snapping) ampule or two?! Questions you only ask in IVF 🤣

@purpleunicorn01 i use lamberts ubiquinol, my acupuncturist orders from them and only charges me cost, its about £35 for 60 100mg i think x

magnoliasinbloom · 15/03/2022 18:04

@Gracie2021 yay for your embryo!!!!

and @beckyCarlos yay for starting stims on Thursday!!!

@PurpleUnicorn01 fingers crossed for testing tomorrow :) I have used the Solgar brand of CoQ10 ubiquinol and found it good. I think ubiquinol is the form that is most readily absorbed by your body and therefore recommended but it is pricey.

PurpleUnicorn01 · 15/03/2022 12:58

Hi i hope you're well.

Quick question for a friend can anyone recommend a good acupuncture person near west london. Also whats the best coq10 to take.

Thank you in advance

OP posts:
Gracie2021 · 15/03/2022 09:36

@beckyCarlos have heard of that actually. I'm one of ones on 450. Max doses all the way here 😂😂 my last trip to the Oharmacy I walked out with three big bags with thousands of euro worth of drugs. Because of our giver meant cover we only paid eighty euro for it. So grateful.

@Mochii I've been going weekly since Oct but it's my one treat and I've been in non stop treatment. Will go back to fortnightly or monthly between treatments.

Fingers crossed for you @PurpleUnicorn01

OP posts:
pinkginpls · 14/03/2022 17:18

@Mochii I go every two weeks but will increase when I have dates for the IVF. My acupuncturist will work with me to have sessions before and after the implantation.

Apparently you should avoid going when AF is here.

pinkginpls · 14/03/2022 17:09

I have recently start getting acupuncture too and it is so worth it. Maybe it is placebo effect, but at least those sessions are the best naps I ever had! Grin
I slept so much better at night and for that alone I think it is money well spent. I also agree it feels like you have someone apart from the doctors to listen to you about the issue you are going through and just in general better for your wellbeing.

Mochii · 14/03/2022 16:29

How often do you go for acupuncture and when in the month?

beckyCarlos · 14/03/2022 16:24

@gracie2021 meriofert 🤣 so special its not even in the protocol booklet! Im only on 300 though (I hear some people go on 400+ so they cant think my situation is that dire, or thats what I tell myself on a good day haha)

Think my trigger is gonasi (probably havent spelt that right!) And I think its 10,000 (theres definitely two of whatever I have)

I dread the thought of having to actually pay for all this (we get one funded round), there muat be 2k worth of drugs in me/the house

Gracie2021 · 14/03/2022 16:08

@PurpleUnicorn01 I was wondering how you'd resist til wed? I definitely wouldn't.

@Kay00 rotten timing but maybe good in some ways and have it out of the way before treatment. Hope you're not terribly unwell with it and the puppies are giving you plenty of tlc. We've been isolating since mid January for fear of it interfering with treatment and so so sick of it and just want to get it before we head into our May treatments whether that's a logical thought or not.

@beckyCarlos tbh I find once you've mastered one injection you'll be fine with the rest. What meds are you on? Gonal or menupur?

OP posts:
PurpleUnicorn01 · 14/03/2022 15:51

@gracie2021 im definitely not going to last. Pretty sure im the psychotic daily test train now. Its too late lol. @kay00 hopefully the stims work for you when you start. Covid is no fun.

beckyCarlos · 14/03/2022 15:50

@tinkerbell098 @kay00 ooh yes I echo that, having someone to talk to (especially for me, someone who deals with a lot of infertility) has been an absolute blessing. You dont have to keep your feelings in the box with your acupuncturist, and they always have tissues.

@gracie2021 🤣 I know, I'd like to be optimally fertile but beggars cant be choosers haha. Yeah I've had my meds since mid-dec thanks to The Polyp, the large drawing up/mixing needle scares me but the little injecting needle is the same size as my current insulin needle for buserelin so that gives me more confidence. The nurse yesterday said that these go in easier too....lets see!

Kay00 · 14/03/2022 15:39

Hmmm... Ok, maybe I'll give the old 'needles in the back' a go Grin Sounds like you are all enjoying it anyway Grin

@PurpleUnicorn01 I'm OK. I just finished 6 months of Clomid, without a single positive pregnancy test, and now I'm waiting for my IVF funding to come through. I have super high AMH so will be on a low-dose stims protocol. I also have Covid at the moment, so I'm doing my best to relax and not work... for today at least.

Gracie2021 · 14/03/2022 15:37

@PurpleUnicorn01 woohoo for your faint line and everything crossed for Wednesday! Hope you do ok with the wait.

@Kay00 I've been to two acuP people. The first it was relaxing but other than that didn't do much. My current one has changed my periods completely much like Becky's and my linings are suddenly being complimented at my scans when previously they were thin and never triple lined. I'd swear by it but only with the good acuP.

Do you have all your meds for Thursday @beckyCarlos? Also congrats on being "optimal" 😂😂 I've allowed myself weekly sessions til the end of this round and will then go back to fortnightly or monthly til we go again in may when I think I'll go weekly again.

OP posts:
Tinkerbell098 · 14/03/2022 15:33

@Kay00 I've been going for acupuncture for a couple of months now. I was also skeptical about it, but definitely feel more relaxed and full of energy after starting the sessions. I think the main benefit I found was that I could always talk to someone about what I am going through face to face, and someone to listen and advise, which doesn't happen with a doctor's appointment.
