@JeanieJ yes that is annoying. Its always a hard pill to swallow.

@thislittlebird thinking if you. I can imagine your anxiety levels are probably through the roof right now.

@magnoliasinbloom that is odd.

Im sooooo anxious this cycle. I guess its since the MC. Its a tough rd. I think its so important to be around the right company.

magnoliasinbloom · 20/12/2021 12:50

@beckyCarlos thank you! Tons of luck for your IVF cycle, keep us posted!

@PurpleUnicorn01 that sounds incredibly tough, that's amazing that you are still able to take positives from it as well. I really hope that this next cycle is your one!

@Gracie2021 I'm sorry that it doesn't seem like the Letrazole is going to work out for you :( Although great that you can progress to IVF next month! Do you have side effects from the Letrazole? I always get really uncomfortable bloating and indigestion. I've had a month off from fertility treatment and it's not nice to not have a stomach that looks like a beach ball? Were you on Letrazole because of PCOS as well?

@JeanieJ thank you! I'm sorry you're not feeling well and I can imagine it must be hard as well with family gatherings over Xmas and your sister being due so soon :( Do your family know what's going on and are sensitive towards you?

I woke up this morning to my period which was very strange given I'm not on any meds this month! I had sensitive boobs last week (often an indicator that I've ovulated) but I didn't think much of it given that the last time I ovulated without meds was back in May...so annoying that I never seem to know when it's going to happen so I can never time it!

thislittlebird · 20/12/2021 12:27

@JeanieJ Sorry to hear you're still not feeling recovered post-lap, hope you feel back to normal soon. Also really hard that you've got a baby in the family due. I'm avoiding everyone, but I saw my friend's baby daughter on instagram yesterday and it made me sad. I've always wanted a girl and now I can't imagine having any, never mind enough to potentially get one of each. It's a silly thought, I'll be pleased if we can have any but it crept into my mind and somehow Christmas makes it all feel worse.

I'm due to test this week and I don't want to do it. Let me live in denial/hope/delusion for a bit longer :/

JeanieJ · 20/12/2021 12:20

Hi all!

@Juno231 congrats on your 3+
@paintfairy delighted things are progressing well for you!
@magnoliasinbloom welcome - hope the trigger cycle goes well in January! :)

No mega update from me. It's been nearly 2 weeks since my laprascopy and I'm still not really recovered. Had loads of dizzy spells, so went to GP and my blood pressure has dropped to super low, so I need to get it back to normal. Also got sent for more blood tests to check my irons levels again. That's the 4 blood test this month!
About to enter my 1st fertile window since the op and am trying not to get my hopes up.
Doc said to keep my IVF funding appointment in early Jan anyway, so we'll see what happens there!

Hope everyones ok this Christmas! My youngest sister is actually due her first baby (and the first grandchild) on Christmas day ... it took them one month TTC (arghghghgh). It's a hard pill to swallow!

xxx

PurpleUnicorn01 · 20/12/2021 09:59

@Gracie2021 im well thank you. Im having it at night so ive been better than last time as that hospital said have it in the morning. Of bit of nausea and bloating so im hoping it stays like this. How are you?

Gracie2021 · 20/12/2021 07:53

@beckyCarlos exciting times ahead. And I'm with you on the pharmacy name. Maybe they mean it to be inspirational 😂🙈 will be following along and hoping you get a ton of little egglets!

@PurpleUnicorn01 how is your down Reg going? Hope not too many side effects and you can enjoy the Christmas.

@magnoliasinbloom delighted you're getting your IUI in Jan and not stuck waiting. Really hope it goes well for you. I'm actually on my 5th Letrozole cycle here as well as two Tamoxifen so probably not going to work for me at this point but so many people have fantastic success with it.

Little update on me. Our IVF will now probably be end Jan because I triggered almost a week early this month. Got some coverage in this month but as my follicle was so big, not really expecting much. That said I'm still back on the crinone and I think the steroids have kicked in because I'm eating all around me.

Hope you're all doing ok? Christmas can be a tough time for all this.

@beckyCarlos welcome to the crazy drug club lol

beckyCarlos · 17/12/2021 17:37

P.s. had my drug delivery from Stork today (not even kidding, I cant decide if its a genius name for a fertility pharmacy or really bad taste 🤣) am now more than a little overwhelmed by all the vials, ampules, and needles!

beckyCarlos · 17/12/2021 17:35

Oh @gracie2021 I'm sorry you've had a bad day. It sounds really frustrating, and if youre like me I find any interaction with the clinic really emotionally draining and I'mshatteref for the rest of the day (no fault of theirs, just the whole thing). We might not be in the same position, but I have low AMH, and an AFC of 4 (thats grand total, not each ovary 🙈) so I'm having a long protocol IVF, and will let you know how my folicles go if you want?

Hi @magnoliasinbloom! Looking forward to following your journey :)

Im in awe of you ladies with PCOS, all the medicated cycles sound really challenging emotionally/mentally x

PurpleUnicorn01 · 17/12/2021 15:57

@magnoliasinbloom its bittersweet journey. I didn't think i could get pregnant at all. Im due for another transfer in Jan so fingers crossed. Currently on the down reg medication. Ive heard HyCosys are not fun.

magnoliasinbloom · 17/12/2021 15:42

@Kay00 thank you! Where abouts are you in your fertility journey?

@Gracie2021 thanks. I heard from the clinic this afternoon and I am approved to have a first round of IUI before the HyCoSy, my husband and I are booked in for blood tests on the 4th and a consult on the 11th :) Looking at earlier messages it sounds like you are doing letrazole as well?

@PurpleUnicorn01 thank you - I read the earlier messages on this thread and I am really sorry for your loss xx

PurpleUnicorn01 · 17/12/2021 15:26

@magnoliasinbloom sorry to hear what you are going through. We can all relate in on way or another and it can be a pretty heartbreaking rollercoaster of a journey.

PurpleUnicorn01 · 17/12/2021 15:12

@gracie2021 well i hope that's your one x

Thinking of you

Gracie2021 · 17/12/2021 14:47

Hi @magnoliasinbloom sounds like you've had a rough time of it. Hope you're able to go ahead with your treatment in January 🤞 it's all a bit rough for sure and plenty of tears shed this side too.

Thanks @Kay00 @PurpleUnicorn01 turns out the nurse was wrong and they just called to say the medical team thinks it's just a very large follicle and I have the go ahead to trigger this evening. Probably too big to have a chance but at least I don't need to worry about a cyst lingering. Just caught me very off guard this morning and my low follicle count has been a worry in the back of my head for a while now. Had a bit of a cry in the car coming home which actually really helped....

@Kay00 it's very strange when getting to IVF almost feels like a relief but also of course daunting and emotional and scary. I find the medicated cycles have taken so much out of me especially after the first 2-3. They're not easy emotionally so mind yourself. focusing on the practical is def the way forward.

PurpleUnicorn01 · 17/12/2021 11:44

@Gracie2021 Ah man im sorry to hear that. Sending you hugs x Mine was pretty low on a day 10 then they caught up a few days later.

Kay00 · 17/12/2021 11:21

@gracie2021 😟 sorry to hear about your scan. Hopefully it's just a one off cycle that you don't have a dominant follicle... those cycles do happen from time to time. I think they use a lot of vert strong drugs in IVF so hopefully you'll get a strong reaction x

And yes, it has been an emotional time for me too. I still effectively have three cycles of Clomid to go, which might result in a pregnancy, but my hope is slipping away and IVF is now the main thought... I like to be practical though and having a goal keeps me focused.

@magnoliasinbloom welcome! Sorry to hear you didn't respond in the last two medicated cycles, hopefully the trigger short will give you what you need!

magnoliasinbloom · 17/12/2021 10:02

Hi there, please could I join? I'm 31 and have been TTC for 11 months. I came off the pill 2 months before trying and 6 months in was diagnosed with PCOS (I had no periods, hormonal acne and polycystic ovaries on scans, although several rounds of blood work came back as normal). Over the last 5 months I've worked really hard on eating a low carb high protein diet, improving my gut health and supplementing. I've also had 3 rounds of unmonitored letrazole - on the first month I ovulated but didn't fall pregnant, and the following two months I had a non-response. I'm due to start monitored letrazole with a trigger shot and IUI in January. I'm just waiting to hear from my clinic whether I can start the first round before having a HyCoSy as the earliest HyCoSy appointment I can get is late Feb. So many friends around me are falling pregnant easily in their first or second months trying - I'm trying my best to stay positive although it feels really hard some days. I think I've cried more this year than I did in all the other years of my life combined! Looking forward to getting to know you x

Gracie2021 · 17/12/2021 08:31

Fuming! CD10 today and have a great lining for me at day 10 of 7-7.3 triple lined so all the work is paying off there. Pointless though as not a single dominant follicle and a massive 29mm cyst on my left ovary which is the one that does all the heavy lifting. The only hope is another 11mm follicle also on my left with the cyst but she didn't seem hopeful. Will hear more this evening but this is now pretty much the worst of my 7 medicated cycles and they might not bother even having me trigger. Also a total follicle count of about 6-7 most tiny. So concerned about how IVF will go for us when this is the most follicles I ever see and now struggling to get even one dominant one. Sorry for the rant just a really bad scan.

@Gracie2021 thanks. Yeah I know! Just goes to show how long healing really takes.
@PurpleUnicorn01 in the freezer. 🤣 Yeah it is a strange concept if you sit back and think about it too hard.

PurpleUnicorn01 · 16/12/2021 18:22

Lol i agree this whole process is weird. The thought my future family is in a freezer at the moment is so strange.

How are you all? Any updates.

Gracie2021 · 15/12/2021 20:31

@beckyCarlos that sounds like some ordeal but love how you see the silver lining. Getcha about those random bitter moment where you realize how weird this whole thing is.

@Kay00 sounds like there was something going on alright. It's such a funny area though that they don't really seem able to prove much about it and treating it feels more like a "just in case". Have you ever had immune bloods run? How are you feeling about thoughts turning to IVF? I found it a very emotional stage as discussing and planning it got real.... take care of yourself.

@dogmam @Lori23TTC know what you mean about feeling like a completely different person at times. I try so hard not to let this take over my life and change me but it's actually impossible not to. Some days you just feel so drained and vulnerable like running a marathon but you don't know where the finish line is. Hope we all get to the other side intact! I'm trying journaling at the moment which is actually more of a help than I thought.

@thislittlebird @PurpleUnicorn01 when you mention the years like that it's actually unreal isn't it. The hardest thing for me timeline wise is seeing women who announced after we were trying are now back from their maternity leave with their babies and I'm still here in the same spot. Like being overtaken every time.

@paintfairy congratulations on your scan and so glad all went well. Crazy that your ovaries are still affected even now!!

@Juno231 congrats on the 3+. Hope you're feeling ok.

beckyCarlos · 15/12/2021 13:27

Lol @paintfairy apparently my veins are 'juicy, but move around a lot' through this process I've learnt far too much about my insides. I was just laughing (through tears, becuase I'm having one of those days where I feel sorry for myself) with my husband about people who just have sex and make embryos. Who are these people 🤣 and how weird it is that I'll probably never know the name of the person who actually fertilizes my egg!

paintfairy · 15/12/2021 13:11

@PurpleUnicorn01 had this ivf not worked, I probably wouldn't have done the acupuncture next time. But now I would be scared to tempt fate and not use it!
@Juno231 ah right. Yeah I had those.
@Kay00 I went for most of my appointments alone, as DH wasn't allowed in. But the EC you aren't allowed to drive after, so DH drove me (and he was allowed to wait for that too). A hotel is an option though if it's easier?
@beckyCarlos they sound.... useless. 🤣 I'm glad they finally got blood though.

beckyCarlos · 15/12/2021 12:48

Hope you're all doing ok! Update from me, had my polyp check today and they are...still uncertain 🤣 the said if she hadnt been told to check she wouldnt have seen anything, but she could kinda see what the first person meant, she was almost sure its not a polyp, (although if it is its big and needs to come out?! Lol) but since my period is taking its sweet time coming (although I am bleeding today) I have to go back next weds for a third (and hopefully final) check.

Bloods were also a drama, an HCA, and the advanced nurse practitioner who did my scan, couldnt get a vein in either arm, so I had to go through to theatre recovery to get someone else to do it (from my hand 🤢) where it took a good 2 mins to fill the tube because my blood was not cooperating.

Plus side, I got to see where I'll hopefully be going in Jan/Feb to have egg collection etc which I've never seen before and now am less nervous about. Always looking for the silver lining 🤣

Juno231 · 14/12/2021 21:28

@kay00 you wouldn't be allowed to drive after egg collection but I guess it would be easier/cheaper if you just stayed at a hotel nearby and made a nice day out of it?

@paintfairy same blood tests as what @thislittlebird said - they're checking for viral diseases like hiv.

@dogmam I'm feeling really good, how are you? No nausea for me yet so can't complain! When is your viability scan with the clinic? 4th Jan I imagine?
