OMG @beckyCarlos !! You poor lady. Firstly, how dare your MIL push you into a medical procedure... I bet the whole conversation was very upsetting Sad. And it sounds like you had a lot of bad luck the next day! I'm glad you're feeling a bit brighter today... I think you might be due some good luck Grin

Kay00 · 30/12/2021 10:58

And I'm super sorry to hear about your BFN Sad

Kay00 · 30/12/2021 10:58

@gracie2021 congrats on the new pup!

When we went to collect my black girl there was a mix up too, we were supposed to take the other female greyhound (who was shy and a bit dopey... just like my white and black boy), but the charity had mixed up their names, so we ended up taking the very headstrong, high prey drive, excellent racer female instead Grin. But you know what, despite her difficulties, I wouldn't have it any other way now. She is completely adorable and a lot of fun and very much my shadow. I'm sure you'll find the same with your little girly pup

beckyCarlos · 30/12/2021 10:45

Hey @alwayswaiting78! Welcome :) I dont I'm afraid, but I'm sure some ladies here will x

beckyCarlos · 30/12/2021 10:44

@kay00 it all looks so calm there, whats your trick? My MiL has a black lab and my gsd just wants to play with him all the time, he wont nap when hes there 🤣

@gracie2021 oh love I'm sorry it was all fraught, but great news you do have a pup in the house! For me they just bring so much joy and happiness (apart from when they get into the baking cupboard and drag a 1kg bag of flour round the house, and also eat about 500g of brown sugar, leaving treacle like sick spots mixed in with the flour 🤣, and even then it was as funny as it was disgusting)

Had a bad couple of days here mentally, got hounded by MiL to go private for hysteroscopy/polyp removal, I was fine in the conversation but after I just cried, at one point the words 'well you obviously dont want the procedure any sooner' were said which REALLY got me. The whole thing ruined my day, and I couldn't shake it off, woke up yesterday still a bit off, then twanged my neck walking the dog (no idea how lol), walked into a door, and scalded my wrist filling up a hot water bottle. Woken up today with much more of a positive attitude so fingers crossed!

Gracie2021 · 30/12/2021 09:19

Btw reason my pup changed from a he to a she is a complete change up in the dog we were adopting just in case anyone was wondering at me mixing the pronouns 😂 won't lie, there was much ugly crying and "why can't we even do this right" when the first adoption didn't work out.

@Kay00 what beautiful pups all of them! Glad your cycle went well too and you never know, there's always room for a little Christmas airman's miracle.

@pinkginpls hope your social media free Christmas did the trick. I was fairly off it myself too. Dangerous this time of year.

New puppy has landed and boy has life changed. She has the rule of the roost and my peaceful mornings are at an end. Best thing we could have done though. On the TTC side of things just tested this morning and BFN at 12DPO so stopped my progesterone and looks like we're onto 8th TSI shortly. On the bright side with herself as distraction going to go ahead with the TSI and one last try before IVF at the end of the month. In terms of pup as therapy to get through TTC treatment, working here so far 😂😂

Christmas puppy cuddles pic for fun 💕

Kay00 · 29/12/2021 23:52

Hi ladies 👋 how was your Christmas? Did you get a new puppy yet @gracie2021? My sister picked up her new puppy (a King Charles Spaniel crossed with a Bichon Frise) just before Christmas so I had lots of fun introducing it to my two enormous hounds (greyhounds) 😁

@gracie I think my 4th Clomid cycle is going OK. I think I ovulated on Christmas day and we DTD plenty, but it would be too good to be true to get a Christmas conception, so I'm going to try really hard not to get my hopes up (...this time 🙄😆)

pinkginpls · 29/12/2021 11:33

Hey ladies, just resurfacing after the Christmas break. Need to take myself off internet and social media for a bit, the festive spirits and all were just too overwhelming.

@thislittlebird It may seems the problems are never ending but we are here for you. Flowers You seem to really know your stuff which is miles better than I am! Hope things will go smoother in 2022, for all of us.

@beckyCarlos Sorry to hear about your last appt. One thing at a time, if there is something can be scheduled (however long wait it might be) there is still something can be done so there is still hope. Sending hugs x

@Gracie2021 Go puppy!! Feeling tired and depleted is so so so normal. Anything to take your mind off is good and a puppy is the best! We all know we don't just live to TTC, gotta remind ourselves there is life outside of it... Easier said then done I know, but I remind myself everyday.

beckyCarlos · 25/12/2021 19:27

Aw @gracie2021 he sounds lovely :)

Merry christmas everyone x

Gracie2021 · 25/12/2021 06:32

Thanks so much @beckyCarlos and @PurpleUnicorn01. Think the new puppet is definitely the way to go. He's a few months old and a small/medium mix. Really hoping it works out and we might be able to bring him home next week. Great fun to be had.

Wishing you all a merry Christmas and hoping you can enjoy the festivities and forget the TTC madness for a small while xx

@gracie2021 sending you a big hug x x puppies are definitely a good distraction 🤣 we have a German Shepherd who is 4 now but still a puppy 50% of the time. He is my absolute world, he gives me a reason to smile, and he gets me out and about even when I just want to stay in bed complaining. What breed are you getting? Boy or girl? Is this your first dog? (This may now be a low key dog thread haha) x

PurpleUnicorn01 · 24/12/2021 11:06

@Gracie2021 im sorry to hear about you're struggle. It is hard and sometimes some days its easy to get overwhelmed and fed up. The puppy is a grear idea something new to focus on and cute fluffy distraction x

Gracie2021 · 24/12/2021 07:39

Welcome @BritInNZ and best of luck for your apps in January. Glad you're able to switch off and enjoy the holiday beforehand.

@beckyCarlos so sorry about the polyp and that you're stuck waiting again. Absolutely sucks. And I'm completely with you about wishing we didn't have this new and deep understanding of how our bodies work(/don't work as the case may be)

@thislittlebird what an ordeal. Fingers crossed the timing with ovulation. And maybe any stress raised it. You're dead right getting the second check to be sure.

@Kay00 how are you doing in the run up to Christmas? Hope your clomid cycle is going well and the IVF research too.

A very belated welcome from me @AlwaysWaiting78. No funded treatment where I am so it's all pay but the benefit is it makes me feel some small very expensive sense of control....

Hope you're doing ok in the run up to stims @PurpleUnicorn01

Bit rough this end lately. Haven't been able to sleep which I think could be a mix of the progesterone mood side effects, the steroids and the Letrozole night sweats. I'm just so tired of it all and feel ready to cry at the drop of a hat. On 7th TSI and have meds etc lined up for an 8th in Jan before IVF approx 31/01. So so so tempted to cancel the 8th TSI. On one hand we've paid for the medication for it already and I wanted to give the steroids and progesterone a shot on the medicated cycles before we went to IVF but I'm just feeling so emotionally depleted. And having to take the progesterone morning and night means TTC hits me in the face first thing in the morning and last thing at night. There's no bloody escape. I'm just so tired of it all. Wondering if it would be best to take a breather and try naturally this month and try recuperate before IVF. January is also a killer month in work.... to end on a bright note have decided to get our puppy sooner rather than later and will hopefully be adopting in the next two weeks. It's probably crazy timing but I need something right now..... anyway sorry for the long post but in the interest of honesty am seriously on the struggle bus here atm.....

@beckyCarlos this is my fourth summer Christmas and it doesn't feel like Christmas at all! I miss the UK Christmas for sure. Here everyone goes away for Xmas whereas they UK everyone is home, and I love a night in the pub with all your friends on Xmas Eve! Oh and pigs in blankets and a proper roast dinner 😂 although it's nice not being stuck for things to do when you can go out and enjoy the beach/BBQs etc

beckyCarlos · 23/12/2021 14:49

@BritInNZ ohhh I'm so jealous! The weather is having a moment here, was 1 degree last night, is now 10 and murky, sun hasn't been out in days... whats it like having a summery Christmas?

@kay00 exactly, no feeling guilty about a bit of christmas wine now! I'm much more chill today, possibly because I was still awake at 4am so too tired to care 🤣

@thislittlebird christ, thats a lot of info about prolactin, none of which will help you not be stressed 🤯 (if we knew eachother in real like I'd say (very sarcastically) 'but have you tried relaxing hun' 🤣 in the hope of making you laugh (or cry/laugh at the very least)) x x x emailing the clinic sounds like a really good step, gives you a next step and a bit of control back.

thislittlebird · 23/12/2021 09:24

@Kay00 apparently yes it can :/ it can cause low progesterone and lack of ovulation, but I still get my periods and lots of what I’m reading online is women not getting periods so I’m as confused as ever. It’s the hormone you get when breastfeeding that stops you getting pregnant. It can be caused by PCOS and stress amongst other things in non pregnant women. When it’s really high you can have a tumour (usually benign) and they send you for an MRI. To say I was stressed yesterday is an understatement, I’m tired of more problems. But the thing is, I did my test either on ovulation day or the day after and the internet says that can also raise your levels 🙃. Plus, I’m definitely stressed and my levels weren’t that high, so I want another blood test really but the GP surgery is not going to let me speak to the doctor this side of Christmas, I will try again tomorrow anyway.

In the meantime I’m going to email my clinic and ask if they need me to redo this test because they won’t let the cycle go ahead if it’s too high afaik. I could just ignore but probably better to address it and try to deal with how it can go ahead, I know they can give you medication to lower it too.

Kay00 · 23/12/2021 07:32

@beckycarlos damn! Sorry about your inappropriately placed polyp! You must be very frustrated. 6-8 weeks will fly by though and hopefully you can use the time to treat yourself and relax xx

@thislittlebird I don't know much about prolactin, do you think it is something that could have been effecting your chances of getting pregnant this whole time? I'm following your journey closely as I'm doing a lot of research into the ivf process ATM... there's a lot to learn!

@alwayswaiting78 I am with a private clinic in Devon. My experience so far has been great, im currently on my 4th cycle of Clomid. The clinic have moved quickly but have they managed to forget to charge me for half my investigations so far... so it's been a lot cheaper than it might be for others

thislittlebird · 23/12/2021 06:00

@beckyCarlos yeah, totally. I miss those days when I didn’t know what a follicle was. My friend with two kids doesn’t know :/

@BritInNZ hey, glad to hear you’ve got some things planned and can make some progress is January. It helps to be moving forward. The silly weather is going into double digits again here today, so we’re I’m not sure I’m feeling very wintry.

BritInNZ · 22/12/2021 20:47

Thanks for including me - sorry for the silence was taking some time away from MN for my own mental health.

We're on month 11 and decided not to track this month, which has been lovely and refreshing. If anything, we've actually DTD more - and it's more enjoyable too!

AF due early January and I need to call and book in for HSG on CD1, so I think that will help me deal with AFs arrival a bit better as I can get the next thing ticked off. Then have our 12 month fertility appointment at private clinic on 25 January. Already had all the tests, so it's just HSG to be done abs then we'll get a plan of action in place.

Hope you're all excited for Christmas! I think it's helping to take my mind off things by having stuff to look forward to. It's summer here in NZ so I can't wait for wineries and sunshine!

beckyCarlos · 22/12/2021 17:44

@thislittlebird that sounds promising! I was just saying to my friends, sometimes I wish I didnt know all this...stuff...like i know far too much about my insides, and drugs, and procedures and things, I'd quite like to go back to not needing to know any of this please 🤣

thislittlebird · 22/12/2021 17:09

*deer!

thislittlebird · 22/12/2021 17:09

@beckyCarlos yeah I get that, I was clearly looking like a dear in the headlights or something because she asked if I was ok after she’d asked it. It’s just a sucker punch when you’re doing all this nonsense and then someone asks.

You’re on another waiting list? Oh no, that’s frustrating. But I hope they can get it sorted for you. As you say, six to eight weeks is ok, it’s doable.

Jfc we’re all crying at nurses today 🙃

I am reading prolactin posts and I’m seeing women say they conceived after taking the meds to lower it etc. God, I hope they can resolve this for me and give me something to keep it lower.

beckyCarlos · 22/12/2021 17:00

@thislittlebird i was on a very fine line when I went for my secone vaccine, like I know they have now way of knowing but jesus christ its like a gut punch if you're already fragile. I feel like there was something in my eyes when she asked me because she hesitated and rhen said 'im really sorry but I have to ask...'

Scan was not good news. Lovely 1cm polyp right where they'd put an embryo back, and since I have poor ovarian reseve they can't stim and freeze because they're less likely to even be good, so I'm now ona 6-8 week waiting list for hysteroscopy and polyp removal. The joy. I had to have 5 mins ina private room because the nurse was too nice to me and I couldn't keep a lid on it 🙈 but, I've had a good cry in the car with my husband, and ultimately 6-8 weeks isnt much, and its giving us the best chance (blah blah blah lol) so trying to get my positive head back on x
